On MacOS (version 12.6.3):
The application “Game.app” can’t be opened
even after running sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine on it

I have the exact same problem, why does this happen? Is there a fix or is the download itself flawed?
Seems to be a permission thing, since it works after I do
sudo chmod -R 777 /path/to/game/
Not just this game, seems to be about half the games I've tried off itch recently
