that bird's got swag 8) great appetizer! I think the pigeon is already quite charismatic, and if you polish him up a bit more + increase the other characters' appeal, and add more musical variations, this will work nicely even with a simple mechanic! this can be kind of like Toem, but instead of a camera, you have a sax : ) also, Grim Fandango might be a good ref for your environments, while I played it I kept thinking about Calavera Café. And one note that I have on the mechanic is that maybe you could add a setting for attracting people when we're playing the sax on superior levels (smooth and above). I say this because I spent most of the time chasing people, and it could be fun to just stand there playing and attract more and more citizens when we get better at it.

I loved the atmosphere on this! It has a PS1 vibe to it, which fits the theme very well. I also liked all the characters, it's impressive how you conveyed so many different personalities in the restrictions of a jam. The animations were a big plus, they were simple yet effective in showcasing different personalities!
I don't know how I feel about the minigame mechanics, they added a new layer of engagement, but after a while they got a bit repetitive. I think this type of game would benefit from some point-and-click influence - like, instead of juggling you could get items from a neighbour to be delivered to another (I would love to see the guy who can't sleep sending an angry note to the one with the lound soundbox XD). Maybe it's worth checking out the LucasArts games for this ref.
Also, I think the techniques you used have the potential to be expanded into multiple entries. You could change the environment, but also change the artstyle - I would love to see you guys turning into SNES characters with some donkey kong filters XD. Awesome game and awesome work, congrats!
