This game was quite the challenge, but overall, this was quite cool! The ending where the cat wakes up at the graveyard of its dead humans did come as a huge shock to me, and, like, the fact nothing happens after that and its just a dark background with ‘the end’ on it… it’s kinda creepy and haunting a bit. I think if there were sound effects to accompany the music (made by me :3), it would really improve it, but otherwise, this is really good :D

Hai hai! I wanna participate in this jam, but because of college and stuff, I can only feasibly do music, so here we are hehe. I’ve been composing video game music for about 2-3 years, and is how I got my start in releasing albums and stuff.
I can do quite a lot of styles of music, so any you ask me to do shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Though if I do have an issue, I will let you know ^_^ If you need to, you can listen to a few of my recent video game soundtracks here of some of my games (except for one, which is a game by a friend): Chequerboard Dungeon, Birdnetic, Fighter Game Thing Vol. 2
hehe, thank you!!! I kinda shrugged off the issue with them getting in the entrance, but if I ever update this game, I’ll try to stop them from doing that :3 Also, the elephants are from chaturanga, the predecessor of chess :D they had the gaja, or the elephant, as a piece, which moved like bishops in chess.
The fire archers are also from that game, specifically the mantri (tho irl, mantri were diplomats and didn’t use weapons, so I just kinda did the only thing I could think of lol)
I love how silly the idea for this game is. And the visuals are really creative as well :3 I like how the idea is that you sell these bugs you capture to some alien bug creature things. Idk what you do with the money, the game doesn’t tell you, but it’s still a really fun idea :D
One thing I think could be better is the gameplay, since a lot of circles I made didn’t count, and the game doesn’t explain that you can capture the bugs by left clicking and holding. I only realised that like 6 or 7 minutes in? Still, it’s a really charming game ^w^
No wonder someone who made such a silly and fun game had such a sweet review on my game hehe
Hey! I'm looking to contribute to this jam, but I can't think of any game ideas, so I wanna make music for someone's game. Include ur Discord as well (that's the easiest way we can discuss music)
Edit: I'm gonna wait till the morning before I decide who to team up with :) It's half 11pm as I write this.
Edit 2: I've found someone now ^_^
I only have 4-5 days left to finish this and I have to do all this art which takes so long and my motivation is non-existent but I also don't wanna scrap the game. What can I do?? I've decided I think I might scrap this idea and try something else that could work with a different art style which takes less time to make assets with ^_^ While I hold the original idea of a visual novel set in 1968 of a girl who becomes disillusioned with her home town and seeks peace in a dreamland so dear, I just can't finish something like that in such a short amount of time.
I've come up with the idea of it being a visual novel-esque game inspired by the movie Wonderwall from 1968. It'll be about a girl living in a dreary town but she sees nothing wrong with it until one day she feels odd feelings of discontentment and seeks peace. I won't spoil too much of what I want the game to be about.
