Good and polished game, has some suuuuuper nice feel with the camera shakes and everything

The game is fun to play but not very tactile at first. Didn't feel the distance where I am safe from dark spirits and where I can start charging to hit: I would add a "run" button to have a better control of arena and space between you and enemies. But still a great game, good job!

Really good and fun game.

If you have time take a look at my game.

This is a solid entry! Fantastic work on the sprites, animations and controls. Sound effects are good too. This is quite impressive for 7 days. I really like the little story, but I would have loved to fight a boss in the final room if you had the time to make it. The game only lacks some music that would give it more atmosphere imo. Great work nonetheless.

I'd be glad if you could also check out an entry that i participated in : https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-11/rate/2531196

The game design is pretty interesting. I like the charge attack mechanic, it makes you consider timing!

Great game, combat felt nice and smooth, amazing atmosphere and vibe, would love to see a longer version of this. Well done!

Really good looking game.... I really enjoyed the charge and dodge mechanics the complement each other.

Really beautiful game! The  brick tileset looked SO good. It was super fun to unlock new abilities and I wish I got to use them more, but I totally understand the overscoping. Getting into the final door was so hype and that was such a cool transformation animation for Leah. Great work!

Really fun game! I love the art and atmoshpere, the controls feel great and I really like the combat. Super impressive entry!! Great jobs :D :D

This is great! I loved the art style and combat, I really had a wonderful time playing this, I don't even mind the ending cause the leading up to was incredible. There's a great sense of atmosphere and build up as we see and complete each side leading up to our goal of of slowly unlocking the door, coming back and checking on creepy messages. You had a huge scope and you mostly pulled it off! I think honestly, if you had not even put that message at the end, and instead had the ending be a simple "You failed, gotcha!" It would have been a good ending. Overall you did incredible and I really enjoyed your game and can tell a lot of effort and passion went in.

Thanks so much! :D

That was very enjoyable. I think the combat mechanics are very well-designed, being easy to understand but providing plenty of depth. Wish there was more enemy variety, but I totally understand the time constraints. Great job!

Thank you!

The design of Monster-Leah is pretty cool. Didn't have much time to look at it, but I think it has some LISA vibes to it. I wish it was a boss you could fight

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the monster design! I hadn't seen LISA before but I can definitely see the similar vibes with the mutants. We were actually planning to make a boss fight, and I did have other Monster-Leah animations prepared - hopefully we'll be able to make the finished boss fight and update the game once the jam ends! :)

Oh wow, that's an impressive entry!

The graphics are absolutely beautiful. The pixel art is crisp and the animations are really good! That ending transformation is stunning, absolutely wonderful job Qitsunne =). I really enjoyed the story (that's a LOT of cutscenes and story telling for a 7-days jam oO), the atmosphere, with the graphics, the ambiance, the sound design... I mean, implementing footsteps in a game jam is the epitome of polishing =p.

The gameplay is also really good! At first, the game was a little bit too hard and simple in my opinion... Until I found out that I could roll >.>. My bad, I'll read the instructions more carefully next time =p. The combat was dynamic, and each upgrade really felt good (too bad you cannot play a lot with the fireball, but hey, I understand the time constraint =p).

I only have a couple of nitpicks. First, I would have loved to have a little "X enemies remaining" on the screen, instead of needing to check everytime. It was especially painful in the last "maze" level. I probably should have counted myself, but having that information on screen would have been a nice feature ^^. Then, the game is too dark. I mean, I understand that the ambiance needs to be creepy, but I find the enemies a bit hard to see, and the dark-blue bar in the UI is just invisible. Finally... Well, I want to know the end of the story =p! That's probably the best cliffhanger of all the jam games I ever played, now I want that bossfight so hard xD!

So yeah, overall, that's an impressive job. I'm amazed by the amount of featureq you managed to squeeze in 7 days, mad props to you!

Developer

Thanks so much, I'm happy you enjoyed the graphics and animation for the game! I was worried about creating a good character design since I don't usually draw a lot of creepy/unnerving things, so I'm glad that it turned out alright in the end :')

Thank you for the feedback as well, we will take those things into account!

This was so much fun to play, its a shame you couldnt get it finished in time but that transformation animation was amazing and I felt like this was a perfect demo to a larger game with that animation being a great cliffhanger. The only improvement that comes to mind is some for of background music, even just something eerie sounding quietly in the back, would help massively

Cool retro style and gameplay. It's hard to spot enemies before they can attack you because of how the camera moves, so you will loose HP on every encounter without a way to avoid it :( Overall good game

Very rich immersive sound. Chilling atmosphere!

Very pretty and fun game. I loved the attack and stun ability and the game felt good to play. Only thing is that the sounds were a bit quiet, but other than that very well done game! Keep up the work!

Super fun and simple game, its a lot of fun to play! The stun function is kind of buggy and sometimes doesn't release, but otherwise no issues. I'd be so down for a full version!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Will be working on that full version throughout the voting period. (uploading only once it ends ofc)

I'm super excited for it!

The controller felt really good, and the combat was surprisingly fun for how simple it is. I got actually quite excited when I realized there are upgrades and new abilities. Shame you did not finish in time. The transformation animation got me kinda hyped for the boss fight, not gonna lie. Very nice little project overall, good job.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words, really happy you played the whole game through! :D
