Love how much you made out of such a simple concept. I like that you can just delete yourself from existence by scaling all the way down.

One critique I do have is that the red dots sometimes appear under your crab leading to an instant game over. With some polishing and with that bug fixed this would be a fun game to play.

Also, where is the crab rave easter egg?

Thanks! That's a huge compliment. :)

Really cool game for 96 hours!

I think the controls could use some work, either slow down the arm movement so they are less glitchy or use relative controls so you can move your hand more precisely. Had some issues getting my hands over corners and bouncing back because the character moved too violently. Still impressive for the time frame, I know it's hard to get ragdoll movement down.

Loved the trash falling down!

Thanks, that means a lot for our first game. :)

Woah, 11 hour stream, awesome!

Sorry about the scroll wheel, we had accessibility options planned for full keyboard control but only got partially there. You can move the hand(s) with WASD and use Q and E to select the hand. No button yet for the scroll wheel, other than using a controller.

We would love to add multiplayer in a future version, time was too short to experiment with multiplayer for too long.

Thanks for playing!

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for completing the whole game! 😊 We heard its a bit on the long side for a jam game, so that means a lot :D

I just saw your game on the GMTK livestream and had to give it a go, we made two very similar games. ;)

I really liked it, with some polishing of the physics I think this really can be something great.

Since you only have a limited amount of blocks I think picking up the blocks again should be restricted somehow, so you can't pick up the blocks behind the little quy and use them again. Maybe once the small player walked over them they get locked?

Some notes I took:

* There is no deadzone for controller movement, so you constantly drift around when using a controller

* The blocks collide with the giant so they sometimes hover in the air

* The yellow block can be placed inside of other objects to lock it into place

* More movement/rotation objects would be nice to make it easier to align them

Overall the game fits the theme nicely and it's fun to play, so great job!

I think this has a lot of potential.

I would love to be able to not just scale but also rotate. Maybe add some puzzles which make use of the scaling on the X and Y axis. For example, the weight of the caterpillar could change depending on the thickness, dipping the leaves in water if it gets too heavy but certain pickups can only be picked up while being large. The Y scaling could be used to "leap" over and go under obstacles.

Really impressive for a solo dev in 48 hours.

Thanks for the in-depth review!

Many of the things you mentioned were on our todo list but unfortunately we ran out of time. Hopefully we can add them after the voting period ends in a new build.

Adding a "sprint" for the hands is indeed a good idea, we meant for the Colossus to move pretty slowly but it ended up slower than we intended.

Either way, really glad you liked it!

Thank you!! Glad you liked it ❤️

Very cool game! Awesome art, looks very pretty but also very fun. :D And the levels being different everyday objects/boardgames that are floating around by the alien magic is super cool.

Thank you!! Glad you liked the game! 😊

Cool game and the concept fits the theme very well. :D I feel like i haven't seen the idea of "scaling the camera fov" yet, so very creative! Gets pretty intense as soon as you are scaled out a lot. I think each run could take a bit longer - maybe by scaling down the "scaling" a bit or something. Good job!

I really like the implementation of the portals, I could probably spend the full 96 hours just trying to get the portals working like this. Incredibly polished for just 96 hours, it's even possible to continue the game where you left off, impressive.

Portal mechanic has potential and I would like to see a full version of this!

RIP Hero

Love the idea, camera movement is a little bit choppy and Linux build did not want to start as mentioned below. Windows build worked through Wine just fine.

(Why am I a green square?)

I hate when my furniture resizes! Great idea done pretty well, would love a preview on how the selected object would affect the object I hover over before applying the scale.

Also, the UI doesn't scale properly on ultrawide monitors, some UI elements are cut off and I could not resize the window.

(1 edit)

Really like the music and idea. Controls could be improved a little bit, I misclicked a lot. Would also help to have a marker on the currently selected block so you know something is happening.

Very cute and fun game! I really enjoy the visuals, beating up multiple limes at once feels very satisfying, and its super funny how those limes chuck knives at you xd I feel like if you could eat more limes at once and become bigger and bigger it would fit the theme even more. Very nice submission!

Very cool game and concept. Great visuals! I feel like it took me quite some tries to get past day 10 xd The tax grows so fast :D I feel like in the beginning you gotta get some farmers in fast to survive.

Thanks for the feedback! 😄

I got to the top 🥳🥳 Very fun short game with simple control scheme. Took a sec to get into it but some jumps where you yeet yourself up just feel great. And if you dont pull of a good jump it just looks hilarious. :D

I am blown away, really really amazing game! The story getting reinforced by the things lying around is an amazing touch. The puzzles are really well designed and take a while if you want to unlock all the bonuses. The game ran smoothly and I didnt encounter any bugs. And the ending got me :') Great job, definitely one of the games i am rooting for!

Thanks, glad you liked it! 😄

Wow amazing menu and ui, looks very VERY good. The platforming is also fun, i just went to the left first, so i didn't get the tutorial immidiately. It took me a sec to figure out that i can double jump. I really like the concept and i feel like with a bit more time, levels and polish (except the menus, those already pop off hard xd) this has quite some potential. :D

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely agree, we wanted to add sensitivity options but ran out of time unfortunately. And after watching some people play we noticed they are missing some of the tutorial prompts. 🙈 But I'm glad you liked it overall. 😄

Hey thank you, happy that you liked it! And thanks for the feedback! Its our first jam game and while making it we were afraid that the game will have too little levels :D But after playing some other jam games i think you're right, we definitely ended up with one of the lengthier games. 😅 Gonna keep that in mind on the next one.

I love the concept of scaling the friend and making them help you in platforming! The looks are also very cute. One thing that was a bit frustrating was that the reset/game over took you all the way back to the first stage, so i had to redo all the progress i made.

Cool platformer :D I like how you integrated the scaling of the slime into the gameplay. Especially when i broke the platform because i scaled myself too much i had to laugh. :D Also i wanna adobt the slime, its so cute.

Wow this game looks and sounds great! The gameplay is also very fun! I got to 36 in my best run. o7 I feel like cargo drivers should unionize. :D

Nice entry, I like the art and music of the game. I feel like i stayed small pretty much all the time, so it would be cool to have some risk attached to being small, or a timer or something.

Very cool game! And in 48 hours is impressive. Sometimes you can get a bit unlucky with the spawns, i found my best chances were when i positioned myself close to the walls. Got to 123 as my best score. :D

Thank you! Very glad that you liked it! 😊

Thanks!! 😊 Yeah, you're right. The mouse sensitivity option slider was the next thing on our todo, but we didn't manage to do it in time. Surely that would have been helpful for a lot of people. 🙈 But very happy that you enjoyed it!

Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it! 😄

Really cool puzzle game! Its very hard but i like it. Levels 6. 8 and 10 made my brain feel funny :D Also the music has no reason to pop off so hard, i love it :D

Nice game, the controls are a bit difficult to get into at first but i managed. My top score was 116. Took me quite a few tries but i was determined to get post 100. :D

Very cool idea! Great interpretation of the theme. Its a lot of fun, but i struggled a bit with they keybindings. In my head the jump button was SPACE, but its scaling the yoyo. I loved the moment when you yeet an enemy into the pit :D The sound effects are 11/10. PRAISE THE YOYOOOO

Cute artstyle and easy to understand concept. Reminds me of those mobile game ads on youtube :D But its a bit buggy for me. I was able to get 5 min into the game and suddenly out of nowhere i got game over. The size "powerups" randomly change sometimes, which is a bit confusing.

Wooow, this might be the most polished game i have played so far in this jam. The puzzle designs are amazing, i love how you used the "x" walls as wall jumps. The artstyle is also top! Had an amazing time :D

Great game!! The art and feel are amazing. Its challenging but keeps you interested. Really well done!
