You can try Phaser, this is a pure JavaScript engine, you have to write all the code.

There are Solar2d, Gideros Mobile and Love2d, all of them use Lua code to create the game and they can export to HTML5.

You also have libgdx and mini2Dx, both use Java to code the game.

There are some engines that use C# like Wave Engine, Red Flat Ball, Duality, etc, but I don't know a lot about them.

You can take a look at HaxeFlixel and even Heaps Engine, they use Haxe language and you can port to HTML5 too.

I hope this can help you. Let me know which one of these you like more.

It looks like the wise thing to do now.

Eager to see what are the challenges, themes, prices etc.

Thanks for this update.

Thanks for your answer, maybe I can focus on the Decentralized category, but let's wait for more information about the game jam.

If you visit https://coil.com/, you will find that the project is gone, so it is not possible to use it to stream payments, and thus, dificulting the web monetization. So how can we do this now? Does anyone knows a way to implement webmonetization without using Coil?

Thanks

Cool, thanks for the info

Hello, is a game that uses Web Monetization (WM) valid for this jam?

In my case, my plan is to make the game work normally WITHOUT Web Monetization, but if the player has WM active and Coil extension installed  ( check https://coil.com/ for more info ), the player can get bonus items, etc.

It will not be dependant on having WM activated, it will be totally optional, is that ok?

It looks that after submission, if you update the game, the judges will just to the snapshot sent at the time you submitted the game, not the updated version.

Well, let's wait and see.

Well, there is a secret in the game. In the description there is a secret message. If you manage to decode the message, you will get the secret in the game. I updated the game description explaining that.

Is it allowed to update the game during those two weeks?

I mean fix bugs and minor changes.

Thanks

Thanks for your comments, I will take a look at Ko-fi.

Right now I am still thinking about what kind of things I can implement in my game using Web Monetization. I have some ideas but nothing final yet, let's see in the next few days.

No problem, I decided to buy two of your sprite packs, the top down enemies and animated ships. I will create the game using those sprites. When it's ready, I hope to post some videos and the link to the game. Thanks

Hello, how many different enemy sprites do the pack have?

I think 5 enemy sprites is too low for variety, but I am just a beginner, I want to make my first shooter game.

Or do you think it's posible to use the sprites from the 40 other ships to create enemies too?

Thanks

Awesome!, thank you very much for your help.

Ok, thanks anyway. Your packs are very even without animations. Good job

Hello, do you have any pack like this but with animations for the ships and items?, thanks

As far as I know, yes, you can use any language or engine

I sent an email a few days ago but still did not received it. Hope they send it in the next few days to be able to test monetization.

Ok, thanks for the information. I will test it.

I want to know if any of you can help me:

When monetization extension is enabled, the money I receive is constant or can a user decide to send more money per second?

I think I saw that it's 0.001 USD per second but I am not sure if that's the amount always or not .

Thanks in advance

Would a Roguelike be allowed here in this jam? Using only ASCII characters

Ok, thanks for the info. I thought it was a videogame jam

And just to be sure, the objective of this Jam is create a Tabletop Computer Game, correct? not just a pen and paper game?

Ok thanks for the info. I don't know if the other people want or need a discord channels, but it is a nice feature to have, we can share ideas, etc.

Thanks anyway :)

Hello, do you have any Discord channel, IRC, or any other form of chat communication?

Also, do you have pictures or videos of past Jams? I can't find anything in Twitter.

I want to find some inspiration in past games.

Thanks
