I was also surprised - happily  -  to find that one can find books (epub and pdf) here. I discovered that through social media. At least, there is one benefit to it. So, I ended up buying a book.

When you said "I know other people might not agree with me" have you seen/encountered that here?

I think it is nice to have games and books on the same platform.

I usually associate itch.io with indie games, but I have noticed that creators also publish short stories, comics, and interactive fiction here. As a reader, do you actively look for written fiction on itch.io? What makes you try one a cover, genre, free download, browser reading, or something else?
