Thanks for the input and yah I already mocked up some dialogue for the next chapter, the Medieval stage!

Hey glad you liked it. I am going to be straight up honest with you it looks like you hit some bugs and it's because I didn't have time to playtest the game. I am quite new to game development in general, learning as I go and I don't have any playtesters yet so I couldn't do a lot with it but I am for sure going to make different scenarios like in L-A-L and sort those bugs out.
Also using the Easy RPG to make the browser build seemed to produce bugs that were not there when I worked in my editor like showing the bush tiles all over the ground on top of my parallax so I need to sort that out too. Anyways thanks for playing!
Honestly, even though this was really sick and I like it a lot I did have a hard time trying to rate it since I have never watched Game of Thrones and so can't properly appreciate what this is. I think if someone comes along who has watched the series then maybe they can give you some better insight. For what it's worth I did like the characters and the tiles (although I am going to guess they are rips from another game and not custom.)
So yeah, I was a bit stuck with this and just went down the middle with everything. It would be interesting to see it blossom into a full game at some time in the future so I will keep an eye out for it!
Interesting story for such a small game. This could easily be like a prelude for a longer game in the future, everything was set up quite nicely. I did find it kind of strange how the map scrolled horizontally and not vertically, I have not seen that trick used and it added a unique mystery to the game. Also the enemy sprite, even though it was only one looked really awesome!
I hope you don't think I am being mean but even though this is good I did enjoy your other game better so I kind of hope that one will get some nice ratings and that others like it too.
Ahaha quite a fun little jam experience and not bad at all for your first game. Everything works well but there's not much to it in terms of gameplay so I would liked to see what else you could have included. If you did expand the game then perhaps have some additional stages, obstacles and traps maybe with bigger mazes then it could really shine.
I can relate to this since my mother used to go around doing something similar at night when we were kids. So I was actually really good at the game and beat it! Yippee! On a serious note I really liked this and it had a cool levelling up mechanic that worked well.
Difficulty was right on point and I like how the player had to tackle stuff in a certain order since I did fail a lot at the start but I got better and better 'til I beat it. The color palette was nice too and the game had a cool dark fantasy vibe about it overall.
One disappointment was that it was not longer but I totally get that because it's a one game a day jam and I would love to see something like this as part of a larger game or project. But as is this was a great experience. Well done!
I am cooked and throwing in the towel for the last game. BUT... I am very proud to get out a shitpost game and also the beginning chapter of a new larger game I am working on so thank you for this jam, it's been a blast so far and I am jacked now to play the other submissions. Best of luck to all other participants!
What I really like is how you can examine most things and the character will give some feedback - it's one of my favorite features in RPGs and it's done well here. The writing and the story is another strong point. The interactions between the characters are interesting and well executed.
For me though the biggest weakness and what lets the game down is the combat. The fights I found to be very soulless and it felt like you'd just taken the enemies and troops pre-set in the MV database and put them in the map to stop the character. The player's attack is pitiful and fights are won by just spamming Spark spell three times no matter what the enemy is.
I honestly felt that the game would be a lot more enjoyable without the combat because I was really enjoying everything else you made here and the fights were just so frustrating and not rewarding. I apologize if you think I am being mean spirited but I have to be honest and balanced about my experience. I think if you would improve the combat, give some more balance and variation etc then this game would be vastly improved.
Love the LOLs and the writing! The concept is really clever and you obviously put a lot of thought into building all the mechanics. The game's difficulty spikes are a bit too sharp for me, though. Was doing great, got a Siege weapon to storm the first castle then got mopped up very quickly. Great game though!
Took me a good while to realize I had to manually examine to uncover the locations on the map. The tracker seems a little wonky too so I spent a lot of time wandering in circles pressing Enter. That said it's a cool idea and the resources are quite generous - I am guessing you designed it expecting people to get lost a lot.
I think the story is quite interesting but I found it was a little off putting that the various art styles clashed a with each other. An example would be the stylized tilesets being used with the RTP characters that are two different art styles. Overall it was very intriguing and well made, lots of love and passion in there I can tell you've put a lot of hours into the game.
I like how the sprites look but I encountered a game breaking bug straight away that shut everything down.

Also you can tell how the text is cut off since in window mode the resolution you set in the itch browser upload must be the same as your resolution you used in RPG maker or things will be cut off like this. Full screen works fine but I mostly use windowed mode in browser cos I like to see stuff pinging on my computer whilst I play.
