I just played my first session of Wanderhome at Gary Con this past weekend and was absolutely blown away. The group I played with told a truly touching and moving story together that I'm not likely to forget for a long, long time. What an excellent game!

Who now is public domain
and ripe for monster-ing?
M-I-C-K-E-Y  M-O-U-S-E!

You can download Mickey to use in your OSR game right here!

I also filmed a video of me statting him out for you can check out!

This is great! I love to see so many folks contributing to the Shadowdark ecosystem.

Though Hilelxintog died, he did not perish. His body, while still powerful, took a gaunt and sinewy new form. The red scales that had made him glisten as if gold lost their luster. The wings that once cast solid shadows on those below are tattered and riddled with holes. Though he still thirsts for treasure, he now also thirsts for blood.

Just in time for Halloween I've released a Vampire Dragon for Shadowdark RPG! The stat block is FREE to download, and if you're looking for the lore to go along with it, that'll just cost you a buck. The original art was done by Yuri Perkowski, who really knocked it outta the park!

Download Hilelxintog now! https://nightnoongames.itch.io/hilelxintog

I also made a making-of video if you're curious how it was done.

It was great to meet you there! Thanks for your support 🤙

YOU ARE THE MEMBERS OF A YOUTH SPORTS TEAM. Your goal is to win the championship, but you’ve got a long road ahead of you and it’s going to take a miracle. Little do you and your teammates know, but that miracle is about to arrive on four cute wittle puppy fweet!

I had a blast making this for this year's One-Page RPG Jam! It's  take on Lasers & Feelings and a lot of fun to play.

I also made a video going over the game that you can check out below!

My partner and I were in Steamboat Springs and the Blockbuster there was closing down and having a sale. We were fucking thrilled and bought heaps of DVDs. Be Kind Rewind actually was one of the films got on bluray! I know we got two blurays and a DVD of the Joseph Gordon Levitt/Michael Shannon bike messenger movie, Premium Rush, as part of an ongoing gifting prank. I also remember getting Persepolis and I know a few more too I just can't remember.

I feel weird guilt, some shame, and some sadness around that night. We were so thrilled to be getting these great deals, but in retrospect it feels like such a cheap way to be excited. I'm sure we only watched half the DVDs we bought, and while we still have them, they're packed away somewhere now, probably never to be used. It seemed like within a year we were streaming everything and I didn't appreciate that moment for what it was; the last time I'd ever step foot in a Blockbuster, somewhere that was very special to me and a place from my past I can never go back to.

I am sure that I had given videos as a gift before, but I can't recall if any of them were bought used. I do know I got my friend a used copy of Jet Force Gemini from Blockbuster for his birthday though! He ended up becoming such a dick after I thought we had been great friends from third grade until we were about 19. It was especially tough because I realized he was a dick about a year before our mutual friends, so there were situations where I wouldn't get to spend time with other friends because I didn't want to be around him. It's actually one of the two things I've ever felt really and truly betrayed over, and it still kinda hurts when I think about it.

Be Kind. Rewind

In anticipation of the new Blockbuster TV show from from Netflix, I've just released BE KIND. REWIND; is a solo journaling game where you journey back and remember how video stores were once a part of your life and how they made you feel.

Drawing from a deck of cards reveals different sets of prompts asking you to reflect on the halcyon days of Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Family Video, or your local video joint.

The game is on sale now for $5, but will be changed to Pay What You Want on November 3rd when the TV show is released. Take it for a whirl and leave any journal entries you feel like sharing to the game's Community Page!

It looks like it was just released!

Fucking radical. Love the game, REALLY love the killer art.

Thanks for those kind words. They are absolutely appreciated! :D

Make sure to post your report when it's said and done! :D

When was the last time you wrote a book report? Was it last week, a long time ago, or somewhere in between? Whatever the answer, you’re going to write your next book report right now!

In Book Report: The Game players use a few roll tables to pick a book, then they read the book, and then they write a book report! Of course, the final step in any book report is getting it graded, so that is included as well.

After you've finished a session, you can post your book report in the Community section of this page and let other people read and grade it, too!

This game was made for the One-Page RPG Jam 2021!

Cool! Looks like a fun alternate way to build tension without dice or a tumbling block tower!

Howdy everyone,

built some maps for the short Nate Treme TTRPG campaign In the Primeval Hot of the Elk Lord and thought I'd put them out there for other people to use, remix, or do whatever with! The PNGs of the maps are free, and if you want the editable files for use in RPG Map Editor along with the maps already set up to use in Owlbear Rodeo, it'll cost you just a buck!

Check it out!

I wanted to revive this thread because bulk import would be so awesome!

It went well! Players toyed around with it a few times, getting a few silver pieces before getting a few thunderwaves and pocketing it to explore later.

Oh yeah. Let me know how you're able to use it and how it all turns out! :D

I hopped on the Business Card RPG train by creating a business card for myself that is also an RPG about making a movie! I plan on handing these out (along with mini dice) as I look for a job at an upcoming industry conference.

You can check out whole game on the itch page here, or you can even play the game with just a click of a mouse in a browser here!

Also, if you have any sweet leads on a job for a newly-minted MBA, hit me up!

This is really cool! I'll definitely use it in an upcoming session! :D

This was so cute and I love the art style!

I had to do a bit of it. For instance, the party saw the warning letter hastily carved into a sign along the path they were travelling, and they found the church along the way. I don't mind having to get a bit creative about things. Sometimes it's better when everything isn't exactly spelled out and defined to the letter.

In the last two days I put out two items!

Sheep Sleep - Pay What You Want

Inspired by the Sleep With Me Podcast and Nate Treme's single-page RPGs, Sheep Sleep is designed to help the player distract their mind and fall asleep. How do you win? Just fall asleep!

Players close their eyes and roll an imaginary die in their mind. That die roll sends sheep hopping a gate into their pen for the night. Level up every 50 sheep! Play on hard mode and add a few black sheep to the mix!

Pocket Tome of Wondrous Items - $2

The Pocket Tome of Wondrous Items is a mini-zine chock-full of items to bring into your tabletop RPG. It is compatible with the most popular fantasy RPG out there (the one with the ampersand!) and uses a shake or two of Open Gaming Content.  However, all of the items can easily be used in other games.

Pocket TomeMystic SeasoningMarbles of Lost Love

My players bumped into this church last night as part of our In the Light of a Ghost Star campaign, and they 1) were very freaked out 2) almost died 3) loved the shit out of it. The manuscript they found helped to further unravel the ongoing mystery of the ancient space whales, too! Thanks for the rad side-quest!

A really fun idea. I'm looking forward to dropping it into my campaign in the next session or two!
