"p2 Thank Yous - missing Jacob Tomlinson Korst"

Radical! I just shot you over an email!

Thanks for the support!

Sure! What's your email address and what tier are you looking to upgrade to? I think I should be able to send you a coupon with a discount for what you previously paid, but I'm not 100% sure. I would figure something out for you either way. If you don't feel comfortable directly posting your email (fair!), would you reach out to me at howdy@nightnoon.games?

Please let me know if you find anything wrong with the the text in the laid-out PDF. I'd love to catch as many issues as possible before going to print.

I launched a new adventure for the TTRPG R'lyehwatch!

Match-point and it’s all on the line for the Sunset Hills lifeguard volleyball team. Just then an explosion from out at sea rocks the beach! Is this just another water-sports mishap, or could there be something nefarious beneath the surface?

A new strain of the devil's lettuce has hit the streets. This "sea weed" packs an extra kick, and it's up to the lifeguards to find out who has been bringing into town before its true effects are revealed under the full moon!

It's 1994 and the lifeguards are keeping watch over the beaches of Southern California. Not only do you need to keep beach-goers safe from dangerous riptides, heavy surf, and errant jet skis, but also from Lovecraftian horrors from the depths

Nyarlathotep's Liegemen and the Sea Weed is designed for use with R'lyehwatch, an RPG system that manages to pack this all into one game! PLUS, due to the generous third-party license and system reference document, everything you need to play the game is contained within Nyarlathotep's Liegemen (It doesn't hurt to get yourself copy of the original though)!

  • A complete adventure designed for R'lyehwatch
  • All the rules needed to build characters and get playing
  • Instant access to a playable version
  • The finished 16-page, full-color, A5-sized physical zine and PDF (for higher tiers)
    • More pages added through successful itchfunding goals!

Itchfunding is a great way to create excitement for a zine without having to go through the rigmarole of a full-blown crowdfunding campaign. This is a smaller project for me, and a bit of an experiment, so I'm hoping this will be a low-pressure way to bring this zine to life!

  1. The zine is happening no matter what! Itchfunding acts more as a pre-order than it does a crowdfunding campaign. Funding is not "all-or-nothing" and even if one person buys a physical copy, I'll print and ship it to them.
  2. You get early access instantly! You get the lightly-formatted, straight from Google Docs version of the game the moment you support the project at one of the defined tiers. This means you can play the game tonight!
  3. Early supporters get a discount! Until the itchfunding period wraps up on July 1st, all tiers for the finished zine, both PDF and physical, are 20% off!
  4. Itchfunding goals make the project better, not possible! Hitting goals within the campaign will help me make this project even cooler. The first itchfunding goal helps fund more art, but I've got some more ideas up my sleeve for what comes after that!

R'lyehwatch is powered by the light-weight Tricube Tales system!

  • Uses a 3d6 dice pool
  • Emphasizes story with enough mechanics so you're not just talking to one another
  • Easy to pick-up and play
  • Awesome for a referee and 1-6 players
  • Great as a one-shot or short campaign
  • Learn to play the system with this YouTube playlist

Awesome! Thanks so much for giving this all a read Jacob!

I'll get to updating these today. The two things that were intentional were "last moon's," the idea being that since it's Full Moon Monster Theatre, the episodes happen during every full moon. Maybe I need to make that clear somewhere. I also thought barricading the doors of the studio should not require a roll!

I'd love to know what you think of the adventure, good or bad! The beauty of itchfunding it that I can make tweak things before they go to layout and print!

Please let me know if you find anything wrong with the the text in the Google Doc of the adventure. I'd love to catch as many issues as possible before going to layout. I'll start a new thread for issues with the zine's PDF when that is released to catch things before going to print!

The character sheet files still have the PDF bookmarks from being taken from the full PDF.  The bubble to fill in for exhausted is also on top of the word instead of to its left.

Thanks for letting me know! I've gotten those files updated!

This is SUPER cool! I love the design and art, and how you've been able to strip back Shadowdark even further. One thing I do find myself missing though are the room numbers.

Awesome! I'm glad you're putting it to good use!

Awesome! I'm glad to help! I'd love to hear how it goes. It's the best feeling hearing about when people play my stuff

Hey there, and thanks for checking out my adventure!

I think this adventure would be perfectly suited for first-level characters, provided you have five or six in your party. The difficulty is modeled after The Lost Citadel of the Scarlet Minotaur ( which is available for free in the Shadowdark Quickstart set). Remember that reaction rolls should be made for many encounters and that not every encounter needs to be a fight!

For parties of less than five, you can bump up the level to two or three, or even just first-level characters with max HP.

A healer's domain has been overtaken by fungal foes. Without help, a friend is doomed to a mycelial fate.

On June 25th, 2025, roughly 30 people convened in Columbus, Ohio at a Shadowdark dungeon-making seminar. A Fungal Problem is the resulting adventure.

The party arrives at a temple to pick up their comrade and pay for their friend's new arm. The necromancer there grows limbs to use as replacements, but something has gotten out of hand and fungus has taken over the temple. What else could the necromancer be hiding?

This nine-area dungeon designed for low-level characters works great as a one-shot or to drop into a campaign. Don't own Shadowdark? This adventure can be played using just the free quickstart set!

Interested in the seminar? You can listen to that right here!

Hot damn!!! That's the Between Two Cairns boost for you, baby!!!

Have you seen a good uptick in sales?

Always happy to help, Joe!!!

Hey there!

Thanks for asking about the breakdown of monsters in my zine!

I included the reasoning in the intro to the zine, but for everyone reading here I included all of the monsters from the Shadowdark core rules that I referenced in the monster-making examples so it's easy to reference them. The zine was designed as an instruction manual first and the bestiary was just a bit of an added bonus!

Thanks for your support

Great question! The zine is digest size, 5.5x8.5 inches!

I actually played it with 14 at one point last year! You probably are best off keeping it from 3-8 though!

AMAZING! I'm so glad it helped!

Hey! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Since the biomes for each creature do not appear in the book, I would have to go and figure out which biome each creature belongs in before manually inputting all of the data. It's a great idea, but I don't think I have the time at the moment to take it on.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I think it kind of depends on the number of party members you have. If you had 4-5 players I think you'll be good with level 1 or 2 players, depending on how deadly you want it to be.

Excellent! I'm glad it had its intended effect!

I am POSITIVE they will!

Really fun. It's great you can play it on mobile!

I've read through this and it's AMAZING! I'm planning to run it for my group using Shadowdark, which is close enough to OSE stats to convert on the fly!

I just played my first session of Wanderhome at Gary Con this past weekend and was absolutely blown away. The group I played with told a truly touching and moving story together that I'm not likely to forget for a long, long time. What an excellent game!

Who now is public domain
and ripe for monster-ing?
M-I-C-K-E-Y  M-O-U-S-E!

You can download Mickey to use in your OSR game right here!

I also filmed a video of me statting him out for you can check out!

This is great! I love to see so many folks contributing to the Shadowdark ecosystem.

Though Hilelxintog died, he did not perish. His body, while still powerful, took a gaunt and sinewy new form. The red scales that had made him glisten as if gold lost their luster. The wings that once cast solid shadows on those below are tattered and riddled with holes. Though he still thirsts for treasure, he now also thirsts for blood.

Just in time for Halloween I've released a Vampire Dragon for Shadowdark RPG! The stat block is FREE to download, and if you're looking for the lore to go along with it, that'll just cost you a buck. The original art was done by Yuri Perkowski, who really knocked it outta the park!

Download Hilelxintog now! https://nightnoongames.itch.io/hilelxintog

I also made a making-of video if you're curious how it was done.

It was great to meet you there! Thanks for your support 🤙

YOU ARE THE MEMBERS OF A YOUTH SPORTS TEAM. Your goal is to win the championship, but you’ve got a long road ahead of you and it’s going to take a miracle. Little do you and your teammates know, but that miracle is about to arrive on four cute wittle puppy fweet!

I had a blast making this for this year's One-Page RPG Jam! It's  take on Lasers & Feelings and a lot of fun to play.

I also made a video going over the game that you can check out below!

My partner and I were in Steamboat Springs and the Blockbuster there was closing down and having a sale. We were fucking thrilled and bought heaps of DVDs. Be Kind Rewind actually was one of the films got on bluray! I know we got two blurays and a DVD of the Joseph Gordon Levitt/Michael Shannon bike messenger movie, Premium Rush, as part of an ongoing gifting prank. I also remember getting Persepolis and I know a few more too I just can't remember.

I feel weird guilt, some shame, and some sadness around that night. We were so thrilled to be getting these great deals, but in retrospect it feels like such a cheap way to be excited. I'm sure we only watched half the DVDs we bought, and while we still have them, they're packed away somewhere now, probably never to be used. It seemed like within a year we were streaming everything and I didn't appreciate that moment for what it was; the last time I'd ever step foot in a Blockbuster, somewhere that was very special to me and a place from my past I can never go back to.

I am sure that I had given videos as a gift before, but I can't recall if any of them were bought used. I do know I got my friend a used copy of Jet Force Gemini from Blockbuster for his birthday though! He ended up becoming such a dick after I thought we had been great friends from third grade until we were about 19. It was especially tough because I realized he was a dick about a year before our mutual friends, so there were situations where I wouldn't get to spend time with other friends because I didn't want to be around him. It's actually one of the two things I've ever felt really and truly betrayed over, and it still kinda hurts when I think about it.

Be Kind. Rewind

In anticipation of the new Blockbuster TV show from from Netflix, I've just released BE KIND. REWIND; is a solo journaling game where you journey back and remember how video stores were once a part of your life and how they made you feel.

Drawing from a deck of cards reveals different sets of prompts asking you to reflect on the halcyon days of Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Family Video, or your local video joint.

The game is on sale now for $5, but will be changed to Pay What You Want on November 3rd when the TV show is released. Take it for a whirl and leave any journal entries you feel like sharing to the game's Community Page!

It looks like it was just released!

Fucking radical. Love the game, REALLY love the killer art.

Thanks for those kind words. They are absolutely appreciated! :D
