Looks like we had a very similar idea for a game — but wow, yours looks absolutely fantastic! The pixel art is top-tier, really polished. Audio design is also spot on. Easily one of the best entries I’ve played so far in this jam

Yeah, totally get the confusion xd
In our case, we actually have a reason to dash in the aiming direction - our game isn’t a run-and-gun with a minigun or something. You’ve got only one arrow, so after shooting, the mouse becomes your dash controller. Without that, you could just let go of the mouse and play on keyboard until you retrieve the arrow - this way, the mouse still matters during that time.
Hej!

An amazing game. I like the style of the game very much, both the post processing effects and the 3d models, they fit together very well. Despite the low poly models, the horror atmosphere is preserved, which is very important in this type of game. You did a great job!
The only thing I can complain about is that the game is a tad too easy.
The game unfolds an intriguing story that's not widely known, reminiscent of old-school text-based games. Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to assassinate the king. It's a pity there's no background audio, and the initial images didn't load for me. The historical and thematic depth is solid, though. Could definitely use some enhancements in the audio and graphics.
We know this that the game may seem difficult, but we wanted to challenge the player. The guards are very well trained - after all, they conquered almost all of Gaul together with Julius (well, except one village xD).
Player has no chance in a duel against a guard. The only way to eliminate them is to attack from behind :)
Sneaking allows you to slip behind your opponent's backs. They can still see you, but they can't hear you - your steps are completely silent ;)
We just released a game we made as part of Historically Accurate Game Jam 8. It would be nice if you tested and gave your opinion.
