Ah, that's odd. I don't own any Linux devices and I'm not sure how to fix it. Sorry :( Maybe if it's a dual boot Windows will work?

Thankyou for your advice! I personally plan all elements of my game and try to develop story and mechanics simulatenously so it's more of a coherent and cohesive design in comparison to story, then mechanics, or mechanics, then story. If you'd like, I'd love to have you as a contact or maybe potentially a team member for an upcoming jam! SBG (my girlfriend) is also really talented in all aspects, especially art, and us 3 would form a power trio. Would be sick for something like a platformer RPG. LMK! My discord is @sonicobg. I'd love to discuss how you got to this level of polish and how you learnt gamedev, whether it was trial and error or like a full on life plan (like me lol). Amazing game!
I also updated/patched my game, your feedback on the bossfight was patched and also the death mechanic actually works now.
Let me know what you think if you get a chance to play the patch.
Cheers!
This game is great, but I feel like a bit more user friendliness would be better. There is no coyote time for jumps, meaning that if the level restarts and I go to jump off the starting platform, I just fall to my death. Also 5 seconds is absolutely ridiculous for a game that has INSANE gravity and really fast player movement.
I've played my fair share of rage games/precision platformers and I feel like it misses the mark in a lot of those categories.
TOP TIER art though! Peak artstyle and I love how everything is under one colour palette.
The art is amazing! I do think there's issues with the rendering of textures where some of them have bilinear filtering and others are nearest. There's also "mixels" which is where some textures/objects have different resolutions and sizes to others, because it isn't on a defined pixel grid.
I think this game would have been WAYYY easier to make in Godot. Just my opinion. Godot is so much better for making 2d pixel art games (see mine hehe).
I think the lack of player feedback and "juice" (satisfying effects) makes this hard to play without getting bored.
The potion mechanics are awesome and the upgrade tree is a fantastic addition as well.
I have no idea if I have selected something in my inventory or not (no highlight on the selected tile). Makes it a bit annoying.
Great work! If this is your first game you did an AMAZING job. Audio/music would have been nice.
Good luck on your gamedev journey! Love your work so far <3
Out of all the vampire survivors likes i've played, this one was one of the most innovative ones i've played. I love all the classes and how much they change to the gameplay! This game is quite literally a 5 in every category. I hope this wins and you get featured!!!
Amazing work. We should get in contact because I'd love to learn from you in terms of gamedev.
My game personally was really fun to make but I am by no means an experienced gamedev. I'm a programmer, composer and artist mostly!
Good luck on the ratings, I gave you a 5 on everything <3
update/edit: i made a patch! thankyou for your feedback. it's in the downloads section.
i'll be honest i should have made the extent of the explosion spawner be from 0 - 320 but i forgot cus i was so tired during development :(
thankyou though! this was my first actual proper game and my first bossfight
the game's cool but the audio is so ear piercingly mixed that i can't play it without it being muted. it kinda sounds like the 1 bit chips that were in 1970s computers. i think if you got rid of some bitcrusher filters it would be better but the ear piercing audio kinda ruins the experience. great art though!
I LOVE IT SO MUCH ITS PEAK, dude you deserve the win for this jam for sure. My god what an amazing prototype. I only have some issues with the audio of the sound effects, and potentially files playing at the same time which doubles the perceived volume. The sound effects are peak though and I love it. I'm a massive sonic fan and Tidal Tempest is actually ball knowledge. Great work!
this game is cool af, i love the gameplay and the combat feels cool and satisfying. one problem i noticed is that audio files stop instead of being played over eachother when shooting the weapon, making the sound stop playing. so 4 stars for audio. other than that great job but the chatgpt description kinda puts me off.
