Magik is a stat relating to anything strange and fantastical in the world.
Some examples of magik checks wood be:
- Resisting the call of some creature out to sea that's trying to call them into the water.
- Trying to decipher some ancient runes on the side of a gate.
- Reading from some Latin from a journal found in a cabin basement and checking if it's the words to summon the Eyes or simply just a spaghetti recipe.
1.5 you 'draw cards into their primary Hand until they have at least 10 cards in their Primary Hand & 5 in their secondary.' so you keep any tarot in your secondary hand you haven't used and fill it up so you have 5 again. Generally this means draw 2 as you'll have played 2 but sometimes more will leave your hand. Also In the occurrence you have more than 5 in your hand you do not draw any. Hey there, thank you for the kind words!
- Queen of wands in Soloterrare missing is an error, you're correct to use the king rules and flip everything to queen. She will be added in the next update.
- Fukuzatsu as a whole is a modular game, if you wish to mix and match rules that is entirely up to you, just make sure that's clear to other players. Though cups in the base game is meant to be both a gamble to remove tarot and also a way to change your own deck. The less cards in your deck, the more likely you are to draw what you've currently got in play again. Embrace the chaos!
- This is correct that the player who is holding the line cannot put anymore men on deck, The other players must race to defeat the sea monster before the men are killed or the line snaps. This is where tarot come in useful to getting more sailors out or having an edge.
Clarification:
1.2 Each player discards, plays facedown, plays their tarot, then passes to the next player. This is done one at a time starting with the first player. This gives every player after the first player an advantage as they can see the tarot the player before them plays. This also means the first player gets to activate a tarot first, giving them an advantage in the activation phase.
Conbini is an optional rule that can work with almost every version of Fukuzatsu (though it's designed for the vanilla version.) It is a very fun rule that I recommend though.
Damn, I'll fix that! For now, here's a link https://awforsaken.github.io/fukuzatsu/
This is absolutely wonderful. As someone who often makes my work dripping and neon, I often have to dull Chorogaiden works down to fit a colour scheme. The Eyes Are Watching has brought it back into a wonderful static world and is expertly written.
Each new mechanic you bring feels like it was always part of the Chorogaiden world and I especially love the concept of glitches. Keeping players on their toes even when they succeed is something I've always loved I'm my RPGs and the idea of the world shifting constantly is front and foremost in Chorogaiden, glitches captures this excellently!
Fantastic work and look forward to running this in my own Chorogaiden games!
The Eyes are watching...
Hey there, it is incredible to hear how much fun you've been having with my game, it fills me with joy! I have a discord where fans of my games discuss stuff and it's actually where the calculator originated from. Please come and share your cards! https://discord.gg/NEjTYwuy
Hey thank you for the kind comments!
To answer your questions:
1. If your hand was a full house starting out and someone destroyed a card, it now scores as three of a kind instead. Make sure to make deals or protect your cards in some way.
2. You shuffle both, apologies for the mixup I will rewrite and clarify the whole document in Fukuzatsu+
Additionally my discord is here to interact with my games on a greater scale https://discord.gg/RVqhrgjt

Hey there, thank you for purchasing the game! Yes, a reserve is the amount of D12 a player has linked to their character. This can be done by using 1 D12 and marking how many you have, then deducting from that and rolling the D12 one at a time. However it's more fun if each player has the full amount of D12 to roll at once.

Hi Hadess. Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the game! If you want to create your own character card I tend to try not to go above 8 with any of the stats as this means the character has to roll at least one dice to succeed in a check and can't just auto succeed (with a small scale for failure.)
For pool I try not to go above 9 dice and stick around 7, 5 being the lowest. The Philanthropist is an exception with a pool of 10 as they have terrible stats and make up for this by 'paying their way' through stat checks.
In terms of skills do whatever feels right for the class. Create something interesting and out of the box that puts the game on its head. The Tulpamancer for example or the Artists homunculus.
It's best to think of a very interesting skill, then make it weaker and have your initial idea as the advanced version.
Good luck and good investigations!
Hi satanic, your stuff looks great! I've already made an album for Chorogaiden available here https://neon-rot.itch.io/chorogaiden-album
but if I make any more for this game I'll send you a message.
Thank you for the explanation on the game for those considering getting it and the kind words.
Addressing the minor issues:
- Dash was never intended to restore sap and I've updated the description to say so.
- Units can only hold 1 weapon as described on page 7 but I've clarified this further on that page.
- I see the problem with spawn killing and have updated the rules to make spawn point selection random.
There's a PvP mode that involves fast gameplay and quick deaths. Players respawning happens often and they slowly improve as they play, collecting upgrades. There's also an unarmed and armed mode for each unit, as they can throw their weapon, becoming faster but unable to attack without it.
The other game mode is player Vs a giant rat as players work together to take down a dangerous and constantly mutating giant rat.
