It works for me, with a gray screen until loaded.

Thanks! That's a mistake on my part, I'll be able to fix it after voting ends. I appreciate the bug report and ty for trying with Edge.

I won my second game and winning hand was this straight. Nice game.

That's not the item you need for the xxx task :)

I saw other comments that the shuriken is hard to use, or the game is hard. I found it was very easy, you can just hold z and run around carefully. Shuriken kill enemies in other rooms (even Toyotomi).

I think there is a bug - after killing Toyotomi the first time, I could not throw any more shuriken, even if I was killed. I had to reload the browser to play again.

Feels like it broke the game. Money doesn't matter, so there's no feedback or need to balance now - just buy all the grid and production you want. It doesn't make a lot of sense as a sim.

XD

Did you beat this? I could only get like 5 numbers on. Very funny.

If you're just using plain HTML, you can host your images on devianart and just add them as src in an image tag. Go to one of the images on your devianart gallery, right click the image and open image in new tab (so you see only the image, not the rest of the devianart page). Then use that as the src link.

For example, this page - Luna by AIGiantess on DeviantArt , open image in new tab gives us this link - luna_by_aigiantess_dfz4jw4-414w-2x.jpg (828×1242) (wixmp.com) . Now you can use the full url to display in your html project like this :

<img src="https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/4ed5a8e7-2b3f-4e4e-baa8-d496b3ee4eaa/dfz4jw4-1d99d2d1-5a17-46d0-98ca-a1b31c57435f.png/v1/fit/w_828,h_1242,q_70,strp/luna_by_aigiantess_dfz4jw4-414w-2x.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9MTUzNiIsInBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzRlZDVhOGU3LTJiM2YtNGU0ZS1iYWE4LWQ0OTZiM2VlNGVhYVwvZGZ6NGp3NC0xZDk5ZDJkMS01YTE3LTQ2ZDAtOThjYS1hMWIzMWM1NzQzNWYucG5nIiwid2lkdGgiOiI8PTEwMjQifV1dLCJhdWQiOlsidXJuOnNlcnZpY2U6aW1hZ2Uub3BlcmF0aW9ucyJdfQ.RewYNVtb8cihQiM-uSacKHVHnrmrrIssMpam6j4xizE" />

You can add height or width directly in the <img/> tag, or style with .css

If the gallery is empty (sad), clicking will crash the game. Thanks for making and sharing the art and game, I'm a fan.

I maybe found a bug. I jumped on the first alligator/ monster before talking to the rat. Then I talked to the rat and found I could not progress (can't jump on the monster, monster won't move).

Did you make the music too?

I've played 3 times and reached a high of level 60 - the balance doesn't seem very flexible if the goal is winning, but it is a fun game.

fwiw, my intuition was clicking on the name of a worker type or the material they produce maybe would link back to the page they're on, or even add them directly from the side menu.

Thank you. I started with an interactive idea, and might continue with that project, too. When I heard the audio for this story, it seemed perfect for experimenting in sound design so I focused on that, and I learned some new tools. It was a fun project. If I prototype a proper audio game, I will let you know :) The jam is challenging but very good inspiration.

Fun game, I played 3 times :)

Surprising how invested you can get in that one shot. Cool project.

There are format issues playing in browser ( at least in 1440 resolution) - the slider bar at the bottom is cut off, and the play again screen also cuts off, and the mouse pointer location is wrong.

One of my runs ended when Windows asked if I wanted to turn on "sticky keys" which kinda sucks.

I'd like to be able to restart with enter key, and felt the music resetting each time killed some of the momentum. But fun and engaging.

I saw that you updated the score screen, and in the trailer that looks great. Consider adding a screenshot of it on your page - I think it would help show it's not just a grey box demo, but actually has a goal and score system.  Looks cool so far.

I would play this again (ok, I did play it again lol), and hope you keep working on the design. The enemies are fun to avoid, and doing math with time pressure is a good mechanic.

I noticed the scrolling introduction text clips through the pattern on the bottom border, and felt the biggest improvement could be adding variety or harmony to the music (I only heard the first track, if there's more than 1).

The video looks fun, like there's lots of activities and story to find. And good characters too, I love Stardust lol.

The art and game design elements are inspiring and motivating to see. All the animations evoke an "I want to play with that" response, personally.

My suggestion would be a new or edited cover / header image. The wolves image is very cool in its own way, but it seems disconnected from the style and palette in the game; I'm not sure they are in the same world.

With more characters you can start to have a story and team actions, even if they don't talk.  I think when you find an idea you like, try it out. I like the art style.

Your portrait is my favorite entry, and inspires me to practice more.

The thumbnail is exciting, looks like a fun pack of elements to put together. My favorite are the water tiles, you found a lot of action and variety.

The box art is great, and the asset pack is a good vintage feeling.

I like the idea, and using the light color for paths is smart.

Glad I tried the demo. I like the clean UI bar, and it's really creative how you made amazing backgrounds with your tiles. ++ character designs

lol thank you Axio

Hey thanks for playing and sharing your feedback and ideas. I think the jump scares are more like "distractions" right now, not really scary, and maybe too short like you said. This is the first update that has included any jump scare mechanic, so unfortunately the earlier comments saw the "warning" at the start, but played without any jumps at all (it was an unlisted project until now). Using some audio tension to build up before jumps is an idea I would work on and I think fits; I also would experiment with making the screen darker during the scare, or some screen effects like that. It was an "atmosphere-first" project, so I'm glad you like the visuals, and thanks again for the complimentary feedback.

Hey thanks for playing :)

Fudo Myoo just got updated with jumpscares - when you don't make a match, there is a chance for a demon pop up and gong crash.

I did make 1 zip package at the bottom, so you can get all the spritesheets with 1 click :)

But when I made zip files of only 1 spritesheet, the size got bigger! 4.98kb for the UI & Font sheet => 5.12kb in the .zip file. lol

cute.  :)

will you make more in this style??

Probably my favorite entry. Captures and evokes the theme and setting, builds on an interesting and memorable motif, enough texture and dynamics in the mix.

One of the best "noodling on a keyboard over chords" entries, and the drums carry the song well. I'm wondering - did you program your own drums? or did Ezdrummer suggest most of the grooves and fills?

Some of the best sounds, on and off the drums. Though it also sounds like you introduce the sax with the opening cliché from "Careless Whispers" which is a bit cursed. re-write the sax solo, give it some vinyl noise and I would listen to a 12 minute session. gg.

energetic and refreshing. The first sax sample is nice, but the one at 1:00 sounds kinda stanky, though the line you wrote for it is fine, and having the two harmonize briefly before 1:30 worked well.

Sounds like a "Mario learned to fly" type vibe, with good polish. Maybe a bit more stab in some of the backing instruments, which start to wash out and don't have the dynamics of the sax line. But I can't hear much jazz inspiration, tbh. And I wonder if the sax would sound just fine replaced with a solo cello or violin. The title though lol. Go watch Round Midnight or something.

Strong composition, strong Toby Fox hints. IDK if the song would improve by "filling it out more" - as is it makes sense to the ear, it's easy to follow and could drop into a game soundtrack. Experimenting with the bassline would be my try - rhythmic variations or a walking bass section.
