Title
the most beautiful sax solo ever (real)

Description
Originally there was a piccolo and acoustic intro in 5/4, but I scrapped that because it was "too happy". I did take the main motif from that and played it on sax.
I used some ii -> V -> I but then it sort of just turned into what I call "Redline harmony", which is just a bunch of modulations and made up chord changes.
I learnt from my previous songs, I tried using less instruments at the same time to make it less muddy, which definetly worked and made the mixing way easier.
The rythm is all over the place which seems to happen when I focus on melody, which I definetly spent most of my time on.

The entire project took me about 8 hours, which is not bad at all.

Plugins used

I love how you blended the sax into this, I never would have thought about using orchestral instruments with it! Great melody and a beautiful sax! I liked how the rhythms changed and the sax still kept doing its thing :)

The atmosphere, the sax and guitar are great. It's really very pretty.

On the other hand, I'm not convinced by the jazz feel.

I'm going to give you a lot of stars for the rest because the mix is good and the overall composition is well balanced.

yeah the jazz didn't really work out with the style I wanted to create, but it definetly was great excuse to use the saxophone

Sounds like a "Mario learned to fly" type vibe, with good polish. Maybe a bit more stab in some of the backing instruments, which start to wash out and don't have the dynamics of the sax line. But I can't hear much jazz inspiration, tbh. And I wonder if the sax would sound just fine replaced with a solo cello or violin. The title though lol. Go watch Round Midnight or something.

I adored the way the sax would slide notes. Made it sound very majestic. It didn't sound as much like Jazz to me other than the instrument choices and the way the sax is a solo instrument.

Beautiful instrumentation, I especially liked the part when the staccato strings came - it was really refreshing. Only criticism is that I didn't feel much connection between the first section and the section after the modulation, though some of the chords in the section section were wonderfully evocative sounding. Nice job!

With this track I imagine a magical wintery realm being introduced. The strings are wonderful and create an very immersive atmosphere, and the pitch bends on the saxophone make it sound very surreal. This is great work!
