Love the atmosphere and vibe of this game! i can definitely see the Outer Wilds influence. The visuals and music are quite nice, and I loved realizing the planet was changing! I was also confused about what to do, and only picked it up from the comments. I didn't have much luck completing the other ending, though, since the grass balls were just too difficult to get to behave, and I kept getting lost trying to find where to take them. Love the overall idea though, would love to see where this goes in the future! Great job :)

I really like the variety of enemies and tactics going on! Felt like I was getting to try different tactics of how to beat everything while encountering different enemies. Was a little confused where to go at first, so a stronger indicator on the red door would help. Would also love to see the environment fleshed out a little more. Otherwise, good job! :)
Super creative idea and pretty well thought through as well! Love the visual style and how intentionally stressful everything feels. There's something hilarious and fun about having to do fast math in order to fight off eldritch monsters. Would have loved to see stuff like this when I was younger, certainly a much more fun way to learn times tables and whatnot! This feels like this would belong right in an arcade. Would be neat to see it expanded on--maybe some sort of story sequence with set stages/enemies, or a PVP style match doing math against someone else. I feel like people would get a kick out of that. Not to many notes from me for improvement--it is a little overstimulating, so the disabled feature option was super helpful. Had a lot of fun, can't believe you made me enjoy doing math! Good job!
I gotta say, any cosmic horror stuff that focused on oceanic settings is like my Favorite Thing, and this game is just absolute catnip for Me Specifically. Absolutely gorgeous art style, loved the different mixes of little styles with each of the minigames. And the chroma effect for everything is the perfect touch, I adore how this game looks, no notes on that. Music is also peak as well, love how it changes over time. The music that triggers towards the end in particular is very haunting, I adore it. There's so many nice little details in this--I love the sway of the boat and that it's not just static, it really makes the whole experience immersive.
I honestly have very few feedback notes to give that aren't just me gushing about this. The most prominent is just the fishing minigame mechanics--fishing minigames are my favorite in any game, and I'm particularly fond of any Stardew-like mechanics. This one is close, but just needs a little dialing in to feel balanced: it's a little too strong on the upward movements, and the downwards motion feels particularly slow, so everything felt a little sluggish. (Props however to the ? fish following your cursor, no matter where you went....that gave me chills, excellent telling story through gameplay.) Beyond that, the only other thing would be it didn't feel super heavy on the decay theme, but honestly the atmosphere and whole polished experience sells cosmic horror so well, I don't really even mind.
Overall, one of my very favorites I've played this jam. This had such cool ideas implemented, and I loved the telling of the story through minigames. And god, I gotta say that final zoom out shot is *peak*, love it, one of my single favorite moments of any of the games I've played this week. All in all, a fantastic entry, very well polished and put together Love to see what you all come up with next!
This was a great start to a visual novel, I really like where this is going! The art style is super pleasant and very cozy--I like that everything is quite soft and painterly. The backgrounds are excellent as well--I'm impressed with how many there are! It really set the scene. The lighting in particular is very nice, it feels quite cozy and lived in. The music was really enjoyable as well, almost had a nostalgic fantasy RPG quality to it. There's a nice level of detail and care in everything here, from the different sound effects when each character speaks, to the animations for the character portraits--lot of really nice touches that help it feel pretty polished!
Just some minor tweaks here and there--I only caught a single typo. I'd love a volume slider for the music, since it was a tad loud. The characters also seem to flicker translucent for a brief second when changing expressions--it's not super noticeable, but just distracting enough to notice. Not totally sure how this is related to decay at this stage beyond the mold=creature, but wouldn't be surprised if more of that is planned further in the storyline.
Overall, great job! It's a short snippet, but I'm really curious to see where this goes. I love the idea of something this cozy turning into horror, and I'm a little remiss we didn't get more of that, but I like the eerie bits we do have. The scene with the alchemist in particular was left me uneasy, so great job there. Can't wait to see more! :)
Thank you so much for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! Funny enough, I originally had notes for adding some animations for the background and eyes, but ended up having to cut them for time. Would love to expand this further and get those added in now that I've got more time! Thank you for the support! :) <3
This game. Holy shit. What can I even say? This game is exactly why I find cosmic horror so compelling as a genre. The subtle growing dread, knowing something was going wrong and being unable to stop it, the absolute futility of it all, the lack of any simple explanation or answer, paired with the absolutely gorgeous-yet-haunting shots of Jupiter outside? Absolutely fantastic, I was glued to my seat the entire way through.
There are so many things I could gush about here. The writing was fantastic, loved the interplay and juxtapositions of everyone's reactions. For such a short period of time, I felt like we got a good grasp at who everyone was, and loved getting to see their dynamics. Made it an absolutely gutwrenching experience. The art was absolutely gorgeous--I'm particularly in love with the lighting/shading on everything. And the shots of Jupiter and the world outside had me speechless every time. It perfectly captured everything beautiful and terrifying about space all in one. And the music and sound really just brought the whole thing home. It was subtle but so poignant--especially at a certain part I will not name due to spoilers.
Literally the only thing I could even try to knock off point-wise is just nitpicking on controls. Would have loved an up and down button and some sort of soft highlight or something around the interactable objects, at least for the first cycle. I got lost trying to search for things on that first round. Otherwise, I have no other complaints. This game is so well thought through and polished, I have to struggle to even think of any complaints, frankly. I would buy this game as is.
Absolutely fantastic experience. I will be thinking about this game for a long time. Can't wait to see whatever games you all do in the future, because god damn.
(Also: your title screen picture is so mean after playing the game. Rude. 10/10 love it.)
Nice start of something! Controls are nice and smooth and I can see the potential for more here. Would love to see everything more fleshed out, particularly with the environment, but I like where the idea is going! Also quite liked the glowing/particle effects on the barrel--nice touch! Can't wait to see more :)
I adore the creature so much, 11/10 would die for them.
Loved playing this! I loved the little backstory intro sequence, it really set the tone and made me root for the little guy. The music and sound effects were also top notch, I could listen to it skittering around all day. Game overall felt really polished and clean! The credits sequence in particular was a nice touch. I did have a little bit of difficulty with the timer mixed with the size of the ship--it took me a couple runs, and I only managed to find the last machine with a couple seconds to spare. I ended up largely ignoring stealthing most of the way in favor of just trying to get every machine. The hit boxes to drain the energy on a couple of them were a little funky for me? Had to try a couple of the sides to get it to drain--may be a skill issue though tbh.
Overall though, loved this, was super fun! Would love to see this expanded on, had a great time. Would love to see the world expanded and get some more lore about this creature, because the design is absolutely top notch. I desire a plushie immediately tbh.
I absolutely loved this! I was totally captivated by the story--I love the little bits of lore we get about the world and about the MC and Her. I was immediately hooked and felt for the MC. The atmosphere was wonderfully somber, you could just feel the grief in the way she talked about Her. The music really helped with that as well, set the tone very well!
The art was gorgeous as well--I love the contrast between much of the rough, blurry parts to the sharp, focused bits. The minute details on the endings were a nice touch as well! The textbox in particular was a really nice touch.
There were a couple minor polish things that I think you would have caught with more time--I caught a couple small grammatical typos here and there, but nothing major. I did notice the image of the egg on the second and third offering would sometimes revert back to the original uncracked version for a moment and be missing the offerings before they loaded it. Nothing huge though, and didn't detract from the story!
Overall, a fantastic job! I'm left wanting more, it was so intriguing and heartfelt. I can't wait to see more of your projects! <3
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! This made my day <3
And yes, good eye on the name--that's exactly where that came from! I tried to pick names that felt fitting for the scenario--that's also where the name Apollo got picked (since he cursed Cassandra with the prophetic sight), and then Cecil means "blind". Great catch! :)
