Thank you for the nice words :)
Clipping out of the map is a known bug and through a last minute fix we couldn’t provide the be we version. But we plan to continuing the work after the Jam.
An interesting mechanic to change between the two snakes and to build a more giant snake via the food :)
Maybe you add some sound design to it and give the game some juicier feedback to the player. I struggled a bit to figure out that you have to be on the side of the compartment to build it up. For a solo project, it's a great effort, and you shipped a finished game!
Feel free to have also a look at our submission.
The cute little Snail went on a rampage. :) For a beginner's project, it is very well executed, and I didn't encounter any bugs.
I would add a bit of detection range to the enemies, as you can sometimes shoot them before they start recognizing.
Please feel free to have a look at our project as well :)
Thank you for the feedback.
Yes, I agree. A game without a proper gameplay loop is not a game :)
I still wanted to ship it - it's the first jam I properly attended and finished.
Graphics was by choice. 8-bit pixel art and a retro-like shader to simulate an old TV screen. I grew up playing Zelda on the NES :)
