Thank you for playing and recording your first experience of the game. I was giggling through the whole video, and your reaction was just like I thought it would be.

Now, to clear up some of my design decisions.

First things first, don't really look into the story all that much, there is no story. I just had to make some stuff up (which happened to be really laughable and cheesy), and that Marko scene was supposed to be an easy puzzle, and that monster was made just so it exsisted and had something to "scare" the player.

Sounds. The reason they sound muffled or echoey or whatever, is because they are all 8 bit, made in Bfxr and this game was really the first time I actually had to do proper sound work, and I don't really know the perfect sound code.

Lights. So I wanted to have multiple light states because for example if you wanted to explore the surroundings and stuff like that, you would use the wide light, and if you wanted to see into the distance, to see if anything dangerous was lurking, you would use the narrow light, and of course, the light would change how the creature reacts.

Also, I am planning on improving this game as much as I can, as it is the first and the best horror game I have created, and if you are able to, be sure to check the game out in a month or less, and then maybe you can make another video on it :)

Thank you for playing the game, and I am very glad that you enjoyed it. Also, I know the sounds are kind of loud, it is because I am reletavely new to sound design, and this was the first game in which I actually had to make good sound.

And yes, I know about that crash. It's because there are no other levels after the door opens, so it just crashes. And the reason for that is because when I was making the game, I had some personal stuff and just didn't have enough time to continue adding levels and progressing the story, I am very sorry about that. But, I think that I will continue adding more story to the game.

Also, did you have any performance issues while running the game? Since I was running it on lower hardware I had some fps issues and I just couldn't find the solution to it.

Once again, thank you for playing the game.

Great game! I mean, you can't really go wrong with pixelated graphics because then, everything looks creepy. And the story was really interesting, I really liked the cinema part.

Fun little scary shooter game. I like the sound effects, and it fits the theme of Space nicely.

Hello! I am an independed game developer working in Game Maker. This is just a side hobby of mine, so don't expect anything professional from me.

I just uploaded my game to the jam, and I hope you guys enjoy. It's ScareWorld. It is my first proper horror game and my first time trying to make some scary sounds. Also, all the sounds in the game are 8 bit, made with Bfxr and some music was made with Fami Tracker (it was kind of hard to making beeping noises in something totally different).

It was made in game maker in a week, and I just wanted to give a few notes. It might have some performance issues because this is my first time working with so many objects and other background items. Also, the game ends on the second level because I just didn't have enough time to continue making (i had school and some personal stuff) and the performance of my laptop wasn't helping. Everything in the game was made by me, from the code, to the graphics (which aren't all that good, really).

And a quick little fun fact, the name ScareWorld came up because I miss read the name of this jam, and basiclly made my project Scareworld because I would change the name later, but I just ended up sticking with it.

A quick note, if you want to mute the music, press M

I was kind of hoping there would be some sort of rating system at the end, you know, just to add some sort of competition to this jam.

When making the game, I had a lot more in mind, but the system for the movement I chose was so bad. Also, my schoolwork didn't really help for the game. This week has been the worst in terms of exams and stuff like that, so I had very little time to improve on the game. This is also the first time I have ever done music by myself, so, the fact that I made something like that is really uplifting for me, even though it isn't perfect. Thanks for the positive comment ;)

I was just wondering if you were going to stream yourself playing the games, or just play them off camera. It would be nice to see your first impressions, even though i saw you commenting in some games.

Static Harm is a game in which you are suppose to steal a package from a bad guys base. You have multiple routes to choose from on one map and you will have to sneak by evil guys who can kill you in just two shots. Please post your reviews in the comments, anything, if it is a bad or a good review, it really helps me continue working on a project I like.Game Map 1

Thank you so much for your support. It's nice to see that someone actually likes a product of yours, even though it's not finished.

Can you please post a 32bit version of this game, or a browser one?

(1 edit)

I played through the first level of your game, and, it's not my type of game. I never really liked these puzzles, and, I can see the appeal. But, it's just a plain puzzle game, with a fake skin of a ticking time bomb.

(It's certanly better than anything I would make)

I tried downloading and playing this game, but it's for 64bit only, is there a way for you to put up a 32bit version?
