Idle Carbon Zero is a strategic climate management simulation where you take on the role of the Director of the Global Environmental Agency (GEA). Your primary directive is to stabilize the planetary climate and prevent total ecological collapse before the year 2050.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

  • Resource Management: Balance three critical stats:
    • Eco Points (EP): Your primary currency.
    • CO2 Levels (PPM): The atmospheric concentration you must reduce to slow global warming.
    • Global Temperature (°C): The ultimate failure metric. If the planet reaches +3.5°C, the economic system collapses; at +5.0°C, life is extinguished.
  • The Technical Tree: A visual hexagonal grid where you invest EP into three branches of research:
    • Innovation: Educational programs, carbon taxes, and AI models.
    • Intervention: Solar subsidies, lab-grown meat, and fusion power.
    • Resistance: Geoscale projects like aerosol injection and space mirrors.
  • Mega-Projects: High-impact global initiatives like the "Sahara Green Wall" or "Orbital Sunshades" that require significant planning and funding but offer massive reductions in CO2.

Dynamic World System

  • Story Events & Crises: The game triggers contextual events based on your performance. You might face a "Wildfire Surge" that drains your resources or leverage a "Global Youth Movement" to boost public support.
  • The Horror State: As the temperature climbs, the game’s aesthetic shifts. UI colors turn from clean blues and whites to a Black/Red "Critical Failure" theme. The map's oceans turn murky and eventually dark red, accompanied by pulsing alarms and dire news headlines.
  • News Ticker: A real-time feed that reacts to your actions and the planet's health—from "Global leaders praise GEA" in successful timelines to "Martial law declared as water wars begin" in failing ones.

Technical Features

  • Interactive Tutorial: A guided tour that introduces you to each page (Map, Research, Projects, and Command Center).
  • Visual Strategy: A high-fidelity World Map and an animated Tech Tree that clearly shows dependencies and progress.
  • Performance Toggles: adjustable game speeds (Pause, Normal, Fast-Forward) and graphics settings (High/Low) to ensure a smooth experience.
