Part of the reason the uranium exists is for nuclear reactors, but solar panels are also a possibility. Oil wouldn't really make sense in space since it's a byproduct of living organisms and geology.

One of the biggest problems currently is that the pathfinding is very expensive. Optimizing that should raise the cap quite a bit. I also wanted to add some more bottlenecks/prerequisites for spawning them in the first place, e.g. needing to generate electricity or food or meeting other requirements.
Not bad. The controls are a bit awkward though. I would just make it a single button you can hold to activate the beam, automatically disabling it when released. The lowering ceiling doesn't seem to make much of a difference since most of the gameplay is just sweeping along the ground horizontally, so if you decide to keep working on it after the jam, I would rethink that aspect.
Yeah, I didn't have time to implement the story/end goal I had in mind, so right now I guess the goal is just to hollow out the whole rock or make as many glorps as possible. In the future, my plan is to have the player crash-land on the asteroid and use the glorps to collect resources to fix and refuel their spaceship.
You played the browser version, right? I just uploaded a new version that should make it run more smoothly. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to fix the choppy audio issues, so I just muted the sound for the embedded game.
I suppose it may not have been clearly communicated, but the player only dies when the skull is hit by a projectile, so you probably just got hit by an enemy really close to you or something.

I managed to salvage what I had into some semblance of a game
