(coded in part w claude code, grok 4, gemini, and o3 w vscode)

oo i switched from learning python to html js and css recently, though perhaps there’s a way to port python over somehow? I can look into it ye

vscode with copilot, cursor, claude 4, gemini 2.5, and a few other ai models - asked all of them about building a datacenter, what it would  look like, what would happen, etc then assembled  in the ide

(1 edit)

ai perhaps is not a replacement for human creativity, but a way to rapidly iterate and build entire game engines from nothing,

many currently use ai in uninspired slop ways, yes, but just like any creative medium, it can be good, whether u build in cursor with Claude 3.7, or unity, Godot, rpg maker, etc, the medium shouldn’t matter perhaps, but the quality of the game built through the medium, be it ai, hand coding, visual sprite building, etc

reconsider perhaps

prestige seems interesting, what would be the next natural progression after building a data center perhaps?

there is a sequel yet to be written perhaps

oof

oo sounds good, will work on update

thank you! game seems well received by y’all overall, looking to build it out a bit more. working on endless mode along with some other suggestions like difficulty scaling and some type of meta progression between runs .

may have to wait till voting ends for the game jam to release the updated version of game, but will see

🔥🔥

oo this could be fun, I’ll see if I can add it as a choice at the start which mode to play

great game, reminds me of classic warioware minigame type with its game tempo and art style. leaderboard system had me replaying multiple times to get a better rank, game controls feel good, etc. fun overall concept

very fun, reminds me of a cross between shovel knight and i wanna be the boshy.

i liked wall jumping and the shortcuts on some of the paths, though the controls feel a bit floaty, or maybe gravity a bit too fast for how precise some of the jumps and harsh the game deaths can be, compared to other games in the genre like above or super meat boy or something. replaying in fullscreen helped game feel much more precise.

perhaps an option for checkpoints for each floor could be good at letting more people get game completion in a game session, as full reset is rough, though i respect the permadeath approach.

sound and art are comfy, good spacing on effects etc. overall great game.

Gl everyone 🎉 very fun game jam theme.

My jam submission : https://mcjdh.itch.io/arctic-console-h

The concept is quite neat. I like that the car has multiple pieces, each with a health bar, as it adds some strategy into how you position yourself around the obstacles. Feels a bit barebones in terms of content and visuals, though the somewhat uniqueness of its gameplay makes it fun to play in a short burst of time. Reminds me of some of the old challenge levels in Galaga. The spacebar mechanics were cool too.

Thank you!

Very interesting gameplay loop, reminds me of an old Nintendo ds puzzle game in a way. The use of rooms to build the correct final loop feels quirky yet functional, giving some fun replay value to each level to find its solution. I quite like the music as well, good atmosphere and experience.

Is there a full list of requirements? The video was a bit confusing, and the main page seems to not have everything listed such as the theme and related requirements.

To compete in this jam, it requires the following, correct?

  • the theme "five"
  • tax, oh, and spread keywords
  • no custom music or sounds
  • all art used in the asset pack
  • 8 buttons
  • all text related  to text file

Couple questions from this as well. Are these all of the requirements? Are we not allowed to create custom sounds and music for what we make, or it it just sounds from the pack? Curious if there are any other requirements not listed as well.

The main page seemed somewhat abstract, and the video presentation was a bit confusing.

The level diversity was fun to play through, somewhat similar to mario party minigames

Good use of npcs! I like the scripted events with them such as on the second ship, and that they are also used to guide the player. The controls feel a bit janky at times such as grabbing onto the rope consistently, though they function well enough. The way the music kicks in at the start is very well done, feels like a pirate action movie lol

Good art style and presentation, visually pleasing colors and each object is easily identifiable.  interesting take on the game jam theme as well going the heist route for gold collection. An html version would've been nice, as it reminds me of some of the old school flash web games.

Very interesting gameplay loop. The upgrade system is well designed, each upgrade feels like a massive boost to the mining speed. Solid visuals and sound effects, though a music track to mine along to and time swings would have been nice. The gameplay reminds me of old school rhythm games, or something similar to Cadence of Hyrule.

Very cool game mechanics. Level 4 was difficult, though the puzzles were very fun to play!

I like the gameplay! the art is interesting too, each object is relatively viable.

Very interesting concept and gameplay loop. Nice visuals as well, 3D is fun

Thank you!

Thank you! The game ends shortly after delivering the variables to the center by pressing F. Multiple levels were originally planned though were scrapped due to time.

Hello,

With the game jam entry period now closed, I'm looking to test other developer's interesting game mechanics and designs. Is anyone currently looking for players or feedback on their game?

Also looking for input on developing better gameplay loops, mechanics, and more for 2d html games.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Ah I see, thank you

I like the art and overall aesthetic of the game. Co op is a cool concept to include as well

Thank you!
