You probably did not select a die, making all roles default to 1. When seeing the big "Roll" button, next to it on the right is a box with selectable dice. Every turn, you get a D6, if you are not already having one, but you can collect more dice in the levels.

If you still can't roll more than a 1, it's probably a bug and we are sorry that it doesn't work as expected.

Oh, you have an AZERTY keyboard? I wouldn't say that's a european keyboard, we are German and use QWERTZ.

Sorry for giving you a hard time. :D Thanks for your kind words, though, we really appreciate it.

Thanks, I will try that. Maybe we release a bug-fix version after the rating time.

That was the idea! Thanks :)

Thank you, we worked hard on the visuals, that means a lot to us! :)

Regarding the movement: Yea, we aren't happy as well. This was already a compromise to get the character to work properly at all.

Thank you so much! <3

Thanks! Those collectibles are healing/refilling the ammo. The boss can be a bit overwhelming, depending on how well the AI manages to get up the stairs.
Making the levels procedural would work, but requires way more planning. At the moment everything is scripted with trigger boxes.

This is fun! I usually kill myself better than I kill the enemies, but I really like the usage of the theme.

Thanks! Yea, we ran into a couple of issues with the movement and that was the best compromise that we could use.
Regarding the UI: I don't know if moving it makes it better, but I also built the level and know where everything is, so you are probably right.

Yaay, MonoGame!

Hey, thank you for your detailed review!

Let me address the points you mentioned here:

First and foremost, they are all valid and I would address them with fixes, if I could.

The level select was a must for us, because it made testing easier. The softlocks where intended and originally you should be able to restart the game there, but due to time pressure, we decided that "going into the menu and select the level again" was a compromise that was fine.

Same goes for the controls: We thought about adding them in, but because of time constraints we put them into the readme. Now they are available on the game page, the readme and the GitHub readme. I would add them in, but because of the voting phase, the game is locked.

I never tried alt+tab... I should do that more often when testing games. But to be fair: The fullscreenmode was added like half an hour before submitting, it was originally just windowed. Also if that bothers you: You can make the game windowed and change the resolution, by editing the config file that is created when starting the game for the first time.

But overall, we are very glad that you enjoyed the game!

Thank you for your comment, I added the controls here and they can also be found in the Readme file alongside the game.
