I don't know if you are taking feedback at this point.

But this is a wonderful effort that I think is missing an opportunity here. The Sega Genesis version doesn't have the same graphics as the original BUT they wisely improved upon flaws from the game and included expanded levels AND better bosses.

One drag of the game is that they simply give you that Gargoyle boss again AND again. So the Genesis game remixed other bosses that were crammed into the final level and even added a couple of surprises. Like the fake princess who turns into a giant spider monster which was clearly inspired by the movie "The Thing."

Please consider including those quality of life changes. Otherwise this really isn't all that special when compared to a mame rom that one can download and be done with, etc. etc.

If part of your goal is to make an arcade perfect post, then maybe have TWO modes like some games do. One could be called "Remix" or "Arrange" or "Special Mode" and the other could be called "Arcade".

Glad to see there is still work done on this.

Good luck!

awesome! I’d love to talk shop sometime, offer feedback on Gorf. Happy new year!

This is great! I'm a big fan of your work.

Are you still active?

Hi there... in the data.ini is there a setting so I can launch it in window mode? I know that F4 does that. But in order to work on my setup, I need it to START in window mode. Is there text I can include IN the data.ini file to ensure that?

Hi! I was hoping to collaborate with you. You make great retro games. How best to contact you?

Then you should just focus on the Mega drive version as the Arcade version lacks the extra bosses and is more repetitive. Less interesting.

Plus the upside is the Mega drive version BUT with arcade graphics, color and sound. So that would make your version unique. Most of us just emulate the mame rom anyways when we want to play  the arcade.

Hi this is great!

Are you open to feedback? The mega drive ALSO had a port of this.

But the neat thing about that one is that it made some interesting QOL improvements. They added a couple of extra bosses to the game, basically moving one or two of them around, to make the game a little less monotonous. Since fighting the gargoyle again and again got monotonous. But the Mega lacked a lot of colors and missed some backgrounds.

So this is promising because it looks MORE like the arcade!

Any chance thought of adding that additional content? The factory level, for instance, has a new cool spider boss right after fighting the second gargoyle. Check it out if you are not familiar.

Few questions. Using the scorpion engine to program this? That's the rage these days.

Also, is this only for the purpose of making a demo? Or do you plan to take this all the way.

Yes, do Palma as a 'what-if' extended level. Doesn't have to be much. But it was always a bit of a letdown, and a cheat, that they simply blew up Palma just to cut corners and deliver a game within the limits of the deadlines and cartridge space.

If I were you, I'd borrow some elements from the Sega Ages version, maybe some of the cut scenes, to give this game a little more spectacle.

One way to improve upon the original is to complete the game, as some of it was left uncompleted because of deadlines. Have backgrounds during battles, instead of that awful blue grid. It was fixed later on in the PS2 Sega ages version, but would look cool on a retro game like this. Also, since Palma is destroyed I always thought it would be cool if we could visit it BEFORE it gets destroyed. Even if for just a little bit, to search a small part of it or something. That way the game won't feel like it was cutting corners. Which was one reason why they blew it up.haha... This way they only had to do two planets, etc. Just some thoughts.

Hi man! Open to suggestions? I once reviewed games for EGM back in the day. So I'm a bit old, haha... But I always had a soft spot for this game. So would love to see an enhanced version. Lemme know I can throw out some ideas. hugs
