The concept of romancing the narrator is very charming!

The biggest pro of the game is definitely the narrator's personality. I really loved how they grew jealous of MC when she talks to Julian, their back and forth banter with him in her head and them slowly growing closer. I have got to say, I really liked the MC's personality in this. She was the perfect balance between self insert and having enough gusto to carry the romance and make me ship her with the love interests.

One of the cons for me was the skip unseen text button not working. This meant that when I was switching between devices, I couldn't skip what I had already read. Julian's route wasn't strong enough to stand on its own, either.

Overall, really good for something that was made in a jam.

This game captures the feeling of first love well for the its length.

The pros. The aesthetic is the standout and the art style meshed well with the user interface. It's one of the cutest interfaces I've seen in an indie otome ADV.

The writing, characterisation and voice acting has the vibe of a shoujo one-shot.

The cons. The description advertises mini-games, yet there were no mini-games. It is a shame, because mini-games would've been really cute in this art style.

I was also able to reach all the endings in less than an hour. I think 30-45 minutes would be a better approximate of the game's duration.

I really tried to get into the story, I really did. I found little reason to fall for the male lead other than the fact he has a nice sprite. This is mystery and otome, yes, but it's more 90% mystery with 10% otome.

The MC lacks a lot of agency unfortunately, and I stopped playing a while after the MC didn't even try to get out of the room while it was literally burning down.

I've played and gotten every end in the demo. Some did require me to look at the walkthrough.

I really didn't expect MC to have such a fleshed out character and past. Great job here. Her trauma with past relationships made it very realistic that she would choose to break up with Soren when he treated her too well.

Soren is a great Western take on the yandere trope. Too many Western ADVs try to emulate and shoehorn in Japanese yandere tropes. The writer doesn't try to write him like a Japanese (anime) guy but a regular person with issues, making the character believable and feel like a real person. I felt bad for him, truly, that from his point of view the MC is breaking up with him for no reason.

I dislike filtered backgrounds, but they suited the art style here.

I hope this game doesn't end up being discontinued. I worry when devs try to start new projects before finishing the old ones.

Overall, I enjoyed what I saw!

Good to hear!

Wow...what an adorable ride!

I'll start with the pros. Albion's route was the strongest, followed by Felix. This is largely due to those two routes focusing heavily on Astra's job on top of the romance, fleshing out her character.

Loved the slow burn. The way both of them eventually fell for Astra felt very realistic. Because I used to work at a cafe myself, I loved seeing the highs and lows of working in hospitality in the story.

Nice to see original backgrounds instead of stock assets.

The cons. The way Qwynne's route ended felt unsatisfying. I didn't get a reason why the codependency thing was suddenly resolved from what happened. Qwynne saves Astra, and suddenly everything is forgiven? The other routes set high standards for depiction of mental health issues, and it's disappointing the only female LI got the short end of the stick.

There's two art styles going on here, and the art style of the CGs do not match the sprites. From what I infer from the description above, CGs aren't complete. If that's the case, this isn't really a completed game and should be clearly marked as still in progress. CGs are supposed to be rewards for playing an ADV, but due to their incompletion and the art style of the ones that are actually there, I didn't feel rewarded as a player.

Overall, I found the game enjoyable. Will stick around for updates.

(1 edit)

You really left me wanting more! I've got to admit, I thought the story would continue a bit longer after the sexy times. 10k words is less than I thought.

Nice to see the "arrangement" part of the sugar daddy arrangement. I truly didn't expect that from something that set out to be PWP. That part felt realistic. Excellent writing.

I must concur with the comment that the art style change between the key art and the sprite was jarring. I came for the man on the box. I got a completely different man. Both art styles are beautiful on their own, but they do not go together in the same product. It might've been better if it was at the very least, another anime artstyle. Ah well. Free game, can't complain too much.

Overall a fun romp!

I've played all the routes.

Well, what can I say...this game works for its intentions. If you're looking for a game that's low stakes and mostly fluff, this is for you.

Michael and the MC had the most interesting dynamic. He's the hottest character in the game, so...woohoo! At the time of writing this, some of Michael's CGs seem to be placeholder images. But I liked what I saw.

Jade's route is my personal favourite. Her struggle with employment in her field was written very sympathetically and her passion for her old role felt realistic.

I'm not into Jordan, simpy types don't do it for me.

I skipped the minigames. While I love a bit of gameplay in ADV, there is little point to them if they don't affect the narrative in any way. A small reward for completing them without using auto-complete would've been nice, even just an extra line of dialog.

Overall a nice snack of a game.

This is a great game, and despite playing it out of season, the Christmas element wasn't super strong so it didn't detract from the experience.

I love in otome ADVs when both protagonists are working adults. Spicy times at the break room? Mmm...very good...

I knew going into this that both protagonists are Asian and I could feel that through the writing and characterisation.

My one complaint is that Harold always, always looks tired even during romantic scenes due to the pose he is in. An extra sprite would've gone a long way.

Overall, very excited for the sequel.

Wow. This was a ride, in a good way.

I'll start with the pros. This ADV is really good for its price. Styx being a tan boy was what drew me in. I enjoyed his personality and dynamic with Pomme greatly, and seeing them bond. His sprite work and CG were...yum. Would've liked a bit more private parts showing as this was advertised as an 18+ game but personal preference.

Pomme (I don't change MC's name in ADVs) had a personality that worked well for the situation. I like my headstrong MCs but if she was written that way here, the story wouldn't have worked.

This ADV also made use of scene direction beyond the RenPy defaults a lot of western ADVs over rely on.

And for the cons. The biggest issue was the portrayal of the Knight. What he did to Pomme was more mild than what Styx did. Yet the Knight is overwhelmingly portrayed as the antagonist in the narrative. Ultimately that hurt the impact of the conflict.

The normal ending was harder to get than the best ending. This has apparently been rectified, but my review is based on the build I played.

Please note this is all personal opinion.

I went into this blind, wasn't sure what to expect.

Definitely more of a juvenile title compared to Teachers. The story seems to take place entirely in the same room. I was waiting for them to leave that room but it didn't happen.

The clicking game was more tedious than fun.

As for the pros, the art style is endearing. I was drawn to Blatella but ended up going for Buzz Bee. I enjoyed the twist I encountered.

The textbox and the menu screen is gorgeous.

Wow, this was quite the twist...I really fell for Elijah in the end and felt bad for him. Though I'm not sure if Elijah is that yandere, he just seems quite attached to an unhealthy level. Unless I missed something there wasn't any point he tried to hurt the MC.

For a ADV that is short, it packs a punch.
