thank you <3

hi yes there is a fix!

it seems like you might need to change some permissions on the file, here is what seemed to work for my friend:

1. make sure the SkitteringPeaks.app file is in your Applications folder

2. try running these two commands in your terminal

sudo chmod -R 755 /Applications/SkitteringPeaks.app
sudo xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SkitteringPeaks.app

thanks c:

ah i appreciate this, thank you! <3

i agree the contrast/lighting is kinda off, i'm definitely working on it!

aw thank you so much!

(1 edit)

thank you!

(also i really have to fix the lighting lol..)

thanks again!

i'm still working on this one.. the full game will be much longer c:

thanks so much I appreciate the feedback!

i'll definitely work on making the instructions clear in future versions

to solve the puzzles you have to talk to the characters (by pressing the interact button around them)..

like for the candle puzzle, talking to the "???" character will give you hints and eventually just give you the answer, without talking to him there's no way of knowing what to do!

and you actually summed it up perfectly, it's both! The story will take a darker turn but it's always going to have that comedic element about it..

aw thanks so much

i'll make sure to make it less confusing in the future

red arrow on the notebook

oh cool I didn't even know it worked on a gamepad!

(It's just keyboard at the moment, but i'm going add in more button mappings eventually..)

thanks so much!

thanks so much, I greatly appreciate the feedback!

i'll make sure to improve the key-mapping for the interact key.

..and you have to light the candles with 2 flames! (solution may be in the second screenshot as well) :p

thank you so much for the feedback.. I’ll make sure to iron that out later

hollow knight definitely inspired some of the character designs.. i absolutely love that game and it’s aesthetic

woahh you created something that feels so alive..

the graphics and music work perfectly together.. I want to climb into my screen and live in this little magical forest.

I cant get over the little details like the bugs actually moving around and collecting things, it's super impressive.

thanks so much

thank you!

Oh wow thank you so much!

I'm surprised the build actually worked, and i'm  glad you liked it

Also, I greatly appreciate the extensive feedback

And you're right! the side quest goes nowhere... My whole plan for the game jam portion of the game was only half finished. I was testing out npc wandering and dialogue so I decided to leave that little guy in. He doesn't do much else, or even have a house yet haha.

If I manage to make the full game, there will definitely be a resolution to this side quest, along with many others and whole town to explore!

(...and more Zelda inspired puzzles!)

thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback :D

I will definitely make sure to make the directions clearer in the later versions.

I also think some of the confusion comes from the fact that I didn't manage to finish what I originally planned to during the jam (gosh.. I barely had time to do half of what I wanted) .  so it's basically just a collection of loose ends at the moment!

thank you so much!

oh gosh that means so much to me thank you T-T

..yes there will be way more characters and many more side quests that go along with the main story!

the final game will be (at least) a few hours long so this version barely scratches the surface

thank you so much c:

hm i believe it is there now

oh gosh thank you so much!

here you go,

let me know if it works!

thank you, I appreciate it!

oh gosh thank you for this

I especially appreciate the nitpicks, those are great ideas i'll make sure to add them in

thanks so much!

thanks for giving it another shot

on a side note, your game looks amazing! i will check it out soon

aw I appreciate this! thank you

after crossing the small bridge on the right half of the map you can go inside the church (just go up to the door and press [enter] ^^ )... the whole story segment starts there

This was really nice, thanks so much for playing!

thank you!

^

(1 edit)

thank you so much for the kind words!

there’s multiple endings! but there is only one true (good) ending where the game doesn’t start over (you know once you get an end screen)

hullo

I made a short spooky game

please consider checking it out

Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much!!

Oh my gosh this is so nice!! Thank you so much for the feedback and encouragement, it means a lot to me!

I’ll go check out your submission as well. ^^

Hi yes that is very valid!!

You’re supposed to hate him so yeah... I mean he’s the bad guy hahaha is he not?

Yea it’s unfair in some parts but I didn’t have time to test every single attack. I was hoping they were simple enough that players would easily remember where the attacks show up in the 10-30s attack sequences.

Also story-wise the therapist is unfair, I mean he’s in your mind, he can do what he wants. So that’s why I made it like that. :x

Sorry about the mouse/trackpad/touch controls! But for a game like this the keyboard feels a bit off for movement. I would be willing to add those in later though.

Thanks so much for the feedback!!
