Hello again, so my family and I downloaded your game needed to print this in black and white, which was not an issue ( though the old ink jet struggled with the full colors ), the kids had fun cutting out the pieces and assembling the game ( my wife loves a good puzzle ) and we finally got it all cut out and assembled on good card stock, the setup was great, and we enjoyed the mechanics on how it matched the theme of this Jam. Great game, can't wait for your next one!

Hello yes I should have clarified the each player will have a playing piece for Naboth and his family ( maybe use pieces from another game like Sorry or Monopoly ), the foxes and the henchmen can be other pieces that do not clash with the players ( they do not looks the same ), and the seeds can be counters like coins or beans ( which I used ) for playing. So the cards are laid out with a random number in the top left from 1 to 7 in a square and the movement point are in the top right of the card from 1 to 4 in a circle, if you get move 1 card you move the movement points +1 more in any direction but the vine trellises those are only for the grape seed counters.

Prototype board
Hello everyone,
I decided to try a different path this year for the CGDC Speedgame Classic 2026, was to make a board game. So I chose the Song of Solomon 2:15 with theme of the two foxes in the vineyard. But I searched further for references to vineyards in the Bible, and I kept coming across:
The Story:
Naboth's Vineyard in 1 Kings 21:1-16:
21 Now there was a man named Naboth, from Jezreel, who owned a vineyard in Jezreel beside the palace of King Ahab of Samaria. 2 One day Ahab said to Naboth, “Since your vineyard is so convenient to my palace, I would like to buy it to use as a vegetable garden. I will give you a better vineyard in exchange, or if you prefer, I will pay you for it.”
3 But Naboth replied, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance that was passed down by my ancestors.”
4 So Ahab went home angry and sullen because of Naboth’s answer. The king went to bed with his face to the wall and refused to eat!
5 “What’s the matter?” his wife Jezebel asked him. “What’s made you so upset that you’re not eating?”
6 “I asked Naboth to sell me his vineyard or trade it, but he refused!” Ahab told her.
7 “Are you the king of Israel or not?” Jezebel demanded. “Get up and eat something, and don’t worry about it. I’ll get you Naboth’s vineyard!”
8 So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent them to the elders and other leaders of the town where Naboth lived. 9 In her letters she commanded: “Call the citizens together for a time of fasting, and give Naboth a place of honor. 10 And then seat two scoundrels across from him who will accuse him of cursing God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”
11 So the elders and other town leaders followed the instructions Jezebel had written in the letters. 12 They called for a fast and put Naboth at a prominent place before the people. 13 Then the two scoundrels came and sat down across from him. And they accused Naboth before all the people, saying, “He cursed God and the king.” So he was dragged outside the town and stoned to death. 14 The town leaders then sent word to Jezebel, “Naboth has been stoned to death.”
15 When Jezebel heard the news, she said to Ahab, “You know the vineyard Naboth wouldn’t sell you? Well, you can have it now! He’s dead!” 16 So Ahab immediately went down to the vineyard of Naboth to claim it.
And while Naboth and family are cultivating the vineyard sometimes the foxes will sneak into the vineyard to eat the grapes. And Naboth and family must stop cultivating and chase and capture the foxes. But later rounds will be more difficult as the Ahab and Jezebel are interested in capturing him and his family so they send henchmen into the vineyard to capture them to put them on trial.
The Mechanics
So the main game idea is 2 to 4 players play as Naboth and his family, each player will draw one card from the deck of 77 cards and play the card pulled. Each card has a random number 1 to 7 in the left corner and a number with a circle in the right, and game text in the center which explains what the card does. To win the round the players must plant one seed in each vine terrace and prevent the foxes from eating them, all the while avoiding the henchmen ( rounds 2 and 3 ) while trying to plant the vineyards.

The Game Play

Been tossing around some ideas with my kids to make a Tower Defense browser game with a feather theme from Psalms 91:4
Psa 91:4 BSB He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.
