Working on the graphics for the game board in Blender:

That sounds like a great concept, can't wait to play it!

Thank you just thought taking a screen break for this jam wikl hels the game design brain.

Hello everyone,

I decided to try a different path this year for the CGDC Speedgame Classic 2026, was to make a board game.  So I chose the Song of Solomon 2:15 with theme of the two foxes in the vineyard.  But I searched further for references to vineyards in the Bible, and I kept coming across:

The Story:

Naboth's Vineyard in 1 Kings 21:1-16:

21 Now there was a man named Naboth, from Jezreel, who owned a vineyard in Jezreel beside the palace of King Ahab of Samaria. One day Ahab said to Naboth, “Since your vineyard is so convenient to my palace, I would like to buy it to use as a vegetable garden. I will give you a better vineyard in exchange, or if you prefer, I will pay you for it.”

But Naboth replied, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance that was passed down by my ancestors.”

So Ahab went home angry and sullen because of Naboth’s answer. The king went to bed with his face to the wall and refused to eat!

“What’s the matter?” his wife Jezebel asked him. “What’s made you so upset that you’re not eating?”

“I asked Naboth to sell me his vineyard or trade it, but he refused!” Ahab told her.

“Are you the king of Israel or not?” Jezebel demanded. “Get up and eat something, and don’t worry about it. I’ll get you Naboth’s vineyard!”

So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, sealed them with his seal, and sent them to the elders and other leaders of the town where Naboth lived. In her letters she commanded: “Call the citizens together for a time of fasting, and give Naboth a place of honor. 10 And then seat two scoundrels across from him who will accuse him of cursing God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”

11 So the elders and other town leaders followed the instructions Jezebel had written in the letters. 12 They called for a fast and put Naboth at a prominent place before the people. 13 Then the two scoundrels came and sat down across from him. And they accused Naboth before all the people, saying, “He cursed God and the king.” So he was dragged outside the town and stoned to death. 14 The town leaders then sent word to Jezebel, “Naboth has been stoned to death.”

15 When Jezebel heard the news, she said to Ahab, “You know the vineyard Naboth wouldn’t sell you? Well, you can have it now! He’s dead!” 16 So Ahab immediately went down to the vineyard of Naboth to claim it.

And while Naboth and family are cultivating the vineyard sometimes the foxes will sneak into the vineyard to eat the grapes.  And Naboth and family must stop cultivating and chase and capture the foxes.  But later rounds will be more difficult as the Ahab and Jezebel are interested in capturing him and his family so they send henchmen into the vineyard to capture them to put them on trial.

The Mechanics

So the main game idea is 2 to 4 players play as Naboth and his family, each player will draw one card from the deck of 77 cards and play the card pulled.  Each card has a random number 1 to 7 in the left corner and a number with a circle in the right, and game text in the center which explains what the card does.  To win the round the players must plant one seed in each vine terrace and prevent the foxes from eating them, all the while avoiding the henchmen ( rounds 2 and 3 ) while trying to plant the vineyards.

The Game Play

Adding some new graphics for the game a dart ammo:

While on the adventure, we found the small feather in Honduras Copan near the Mayan ruins there,  and the larger one was gifted by red mccaw parrot handler there.  Just adding some feathers as they fit the theme.  God bless everyone on this gamejam!  Amen

Thank you very much hope I can get more done this week while on the road, going to need some solid blocks of time to do some coding, music and graphics.  God Bless you

Been tossing around some ideas with my kids to make a Tower Defense browser game with a feather theme from Psalms 91:4

Psa 91:4 BSB He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.

Wow your game layout is looking great keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing your story, and I am praying for you brother that you have peace with Jesus and you know you are loved no matter the circumstance and life situation.

Wonderful game and it totally goes with the themes of the Parable of the Sower, awesome job!

Interesting concept, though I lost the ball of light off the screen, and I could not aim at the orbs.  But your soundtrack was very nice!  Good job.

Liked the pixel graphics, and the premise was cool, though I kept walking into some diagonal boundaries and I could not find the goal.  The game shows promise! Great Job.

Loved the game, though the mouse and camera went nuts on Firefox, but it started working.  I ran out of time, but it definitely simulates the Lost Coin, great job!

Thank you for the feedback, I was going to implement a broom shadow exactly where above the dust pile was but ran out of time.

Thanks for playing it may have have inverted colors due most elements are progarmmed in the DOM for HTML

Thank you for playing my game, I was definitely trying to make the happy peeps try and pass on their happiness to the angry peeps, but just ran out of time.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback!  There was alot more I wanted to put in the game, but not enough time.  I usually try out the 1 week Jams, so maybe I can make a more full fledged game in the Classic Speedgame later this year!
