having the exact same issue on windows 11

when i try downloading on the website it gives me a single file with no way to open it other than what my computer suggests

I remember posting about this awhile ago but i couldn't keep up with the post for personal reasons.

I'm still having the same issue as about a year ago, i'm unable to to download the game on the itch.io app, it comes back with an error that reads something like  "cannot download 'build' or undefined".

if i try downloading the game on the itch.io website it gives me a single file with no clear way to open it. it just suggests some apps i could use to see the file, which isn't very helpful.

i'm using the windows 11 OS if that helps, on a device that can run the 'callisto protocol' on medium-high performance, so i don't think it's my specs but hopefully it helps define the issue.

i cannot download the game via the itch.io app or on the itch.io website.

the app gets a bad build read, apparently, and won't bother to install any version (or at least the current version and the one before). the website downloads a .rar file that does nothing but deletes itself and downloads itself again. don't even know where to start :/

i've tried every key on my keyboard, nothing will confirm saving it to a save slot

instead of giving up, why not release the source code to someone more willing to work on the game? in that case, you can get a percentage of the income for being the copyright holder. on the other hand, you could give it to someone else who would be more willing to work on it. alternatively, you could release the source code for a modding community to make things for the game.

my entire computer crashes. last sound to play does that jittery stutter, everything freezes up, can't use mouse or input anything. i'd have to force shutdown the computer and boot it back up.

it’s a two year old computer, but it is somewhat well used. However, i’ve ran games 5x more performance costly than drain mansion without problems.

hello, i'm having an issue with the game.

i thought it might just be my computer, but i'm seeing a pattern, whenever i get trapped (like in the dungeon or at the key) and a succubus catches me my whole computer crashes.

edit: it's also the same thing with the new scenes in the new area

it's fine, a lot of people probably don't use it, but for ones who do, it'd be a good heads up to read this.

i found the issue. for whatever reason, trying to download drain mansion on windows in the itch.io app flat out doesn't work. you have to go to the itch.io website, download it there, extract, and then it has the executable in it.

i checked my folders, it appears it just downloads the drain mansion folder, then one labeled ".itch" and nothing else is downloaded.

whenever i try installing it just tries to install and then completely gives up.
aka, it won't install and i don't know why

it won't let me install the new 1.1, it just goes like it's downloading it and then suddenly stops.

i already tried uninstalling, now it just goes as if it's installing, suddenly stops and says "install'.

i try downloading the window's version, but it says there's an error and describes that there is no manager to download

do you take constructive criticism?
