Oh interesting that's why the Censors are buggy the way they are.

Also yeah I was going make a joke about the Tutorial along lines of something; "The forever struggle to make a Tutorial that most new and old players will like".  So yeah it's completely understandable how the Tutorial got to where it's at, and I wish the Devs the best of luck and figuring that out. Tried to think of ways that might help make it better.

Tried my best to be clear and condensed with these as possible, apologies of it's not clear enough. As well be editing or adding to this when I find new Bugs as I play. People already have, but others are free to add on even though I am aware there is another post that is being the Unofficial Bug Reports. This is for me to mostly be able continually add everything I find along way that is broken, seems broken, or provide feedback on that is working or not working so well and my best attempt for possible Solution suggestions.

Bugs:

1. Metal Chair Freeze?: So having to edit this one because the Freeze Bug happened when I was moving my pile of Wooden Scrap, unsure what’s causing the Freeze Bug. When picking up a Metal Chair that’s fallen on its side and moving the camera quickly away, the game freezes. Sounds and ambience still seem to play, but even trying to wait and while not moving at all the game was unable to unfreeze and had to force shutdown. This happened at first with the Metal Chair in the bedroom in Alpha base, the second time was the Metal Chair at the Hole near Yankee. Was unable to reproduce the freeze again while testing in Sandbox mode, but it was a quick test and both other times it froze I had been playing for at least 30 or more minutes. Theory for now maybe something to do with moving Psychics objects a certain way, or just part of the Unstable nature of this release.

2. Light Glow Effect: So far, I first noticed that if you are on the 2nd floor of Alpha Base in either the Bedroom/Kitchen, Bathroom, or Balcony if the lights are turned on from the 1st floor. Haven’t noticed it anywhere else on the 2nd floor yet. One last place I noticed the Lights glow effect is if you are at the closed door to Administration, the glow can be seen through the crack of the closed doors unsure if this one is intentional or not. Then when out about the Map you can see the glow of other light sources peering through objects.

3. Tutorial Yellow Lines: When at the part with the Signal Computer Command Center, the Top Question Mark next to the Play Signal Console when on page 10 talking about Saving Signals the line does not go to the button but where the Chair normally is on the middle of the floor. There are few other minor times when the line doesn’t appear form center of the screen but appears off center above the screen. Sometimes notice this would happen if you do something before the Tutorial talks about a feature it’s going to talk about.

4. Crash/Fatal Error: A lot of times after playing a long time starting at least an hour or above on a save whether it be Story Mode or Halloween mode, there’s a high chance when returning to Main Menu the game immediately crashes.

5. ATV Brake Spin: When the ATV brakes are on, it likes to spin in place and either falls back or forward on slopes a little.

6. Floating Rocks: It seems the migration of the Floating Rocks returns once again, notice most them are in the Inner Square of Satellites around the map. Haven't noticed any Floating Rocks outside of the inner Satellite array.

7. Pink Wisps Event: This event still seems broken for many where they spawn appear rapidly and disappear just as fast.

8. Photographing Entities: Some reason the Entities I've photographed have the ID of like "prop_food_mushroomc"/"prop_food_mushroomb",  not sure why this sometimes happens with Anti-Breather but happened with the Pyramid, Killer Wisps, and the Door. Think one point photographing the Pyramid is ID'd as "Fossil_hound", which unsure if a Fossilhound was out and somehow despite the distance it got ID'd. But it seems Distance affects the ID the Entity is given, further Testing will be done.

9. Kerfur Omega Pathing: So far this has happened only once, but while grabbing Hashes they were travelling from Juliet to Kilo instead of using one the Bridges they tried to shortcut through the river and stood stuck at the river bank. Before in past it fixed their pathing if I took control and set them in a certain direction they self correct to finish the hashes but after few attempts this didn't work. So far the only time their pathing was a problem, will update if it happens again.

Bugs/Feedback:

1. Day Speed: While it’s nice the days move faster, it feels like they move far to fast for Early game and feels like you are rushing around to maintain everything and get the dailies done. This leaves little time to do anything else, not even decreasing the Day Speed affects the speed only by a few milliseconds. Now the base Day Speed doesn’t have to return to the previous Day Speed, but reducing the speed by maybe 5 or 10% would be nice to have time to do more. As well increasing the strength of the Day Speed option for the Save to have more of an affect rather than it barely affecting it by milliseconds, this also goes for the Difficulty affecting the Time passage both combined still barely change the speed by milliseconds.

2. Difficulty Daily Signals: I’m unsure if this was intended or not for Normal Difficulty, but asking for 5 signals early on when the Day Speed is too fast when you are barely able to manage 3 signals at the max in one full day. If this is intended, as mentioned before with the Day speed will need to be decreased to give people a chance if even barely to make the Dailies on Normal. Have yet to return Hard++ difficulty because the Day speed is far to fast to do the Dailies, and I doubt with all full upgrades you wouldn’t be able to barely make it all not to mention maintaining everything.

3. Arirals: Gotten to part where the Arirals should be building their home but only things there are the Ships and the container that’s normal on the fireplace. I’m not sure if their Treehouse is being changed, moved somewhere or if this was not intended in the first place. These are the Main Events involving the Arirals that seem broken; the Brownie Trail didn't spawn, the Dropped Gun bugged out when I tried to return it by place it where the Treehouse would be causing the Ariral that retrieves it spawn forever until I reloaded. Placing Shrimp where the Picnic was and where the Treehouse normal would be doesn't affect the Rep at all.  The Ariral Rep events for most part seem work fine and unaffected in 0.9.

4. Mannequins: I'm unsure if this is intended, but 99% time I find the Mannequins carrying objects around and have made a real mess of my base. Again not sure if it's intended to make the Mannequins be able carry things sometimes or unintentional all together.

5. Ariral Satellite Signal Trio: So I'm unsure if it's intended that these appear after the Obelisk falls, but they still spawning the day after the Obelisk falls and not the day before it spawns. Again unsure if it's meant to be Spawning after all this time, or never been fixed yet.

Feedback:

1. Tutorial: I’m neutral to the On-Rails version of the Tutorial it was both nice to have a flow of what to read and do, but also not able to speed up some walls of text. The Signal Console Command should be condensed to single Question marks that walk you through the Mechanics of Signal Processing, instead of waiting for the Info Dump then have reread it all to interact with anything. Now I don’t know how easy or even effective this be implemented, but an option to show a Video on the side of the Mechanic just explained so people can understand the action being requested of them.

2. ATV: A little adjustment to the ATV Lights so they aren’t close to being completely useless because they barely light the way, they don’t have be amazing but it’s hard to navigate in the pitch dark more than usual. Other than that I am so happy about the ATV finally having upgrades, and the Smoke Threshold readjusted so it’s not in the way of traveling has also been great.

3. Halloween Mode: Glad to see the return of the Pumpkin Radar pings this will help a lot newer players, but towards the end of the event where you have return to base the [Redacted] were not noticeable to me and I completely missed them until after the event finished. So perhaps have the [Redacted] appear in the players inventory or make [Redacted] glow so it is less likely to be missed. Unless I was being dumb and there was Text that clearly stated what to do, in that case my bad.

As much as I too want to terrorize- I mean help my friends in Votv, I’ve heard it said the entire game would need be remade from ground up to implement Multiplayer. Either MrDrNose has said this themself or people from Discord have said this would be the case. But also in the FAQ this is the answer to if Multiplayer be in the game: “Most likely not, due to the lack of networking experience and lack of foundation for net in the game.”

However, someone was making a Votv Multiplayer Mod that is still in development and most recent thing I heard about it was it has a Demo version you can Download. Do note its ONLY for Sandbox and not for main game, probably this is so people can test it out and help the Modder figure out some bugs is my best guess.

Lastly there is a currently working Mod that is sort of like Multiplayer, it’s called the TwitchMannequins mod where you as the Streamer can set the conditions for who can spawn in as a Mannequin. People talk with a I believe built in TTS, their Username above the Mannequin and PFP (some peoples PFP seem to be invalid for whatever reason not sure why, the Modder probably knows better than I why it can be broken) on their face. So, you could truly have a Voices from the Void either help, or most likely terrorize you while you try to work. You can find the Mod on the Thunderstore or just search “voices of the void mod” that should get you to where you need go to download the mod.

Hope this was helpful information for you.

Yeah a Streamer I was watching had this issue when we tried guide them to the Slabs/Tablets, and another chat member also reported no Red Bush activation. Again I'm not sure if this is intended but doesn't make any sense to have it not activate for Infinite Mode when every other event should be able activate. So on one hand glad it's defiantly common occurrence and not just use, on the other hand hoping it's not intentional and it's just a bug.

Yeah I get there around 3 am,  3:33 comes and goes and by time it's 4 it still never opened. Sometimes I encounter this in Story mode around day 30 and beyond to final available story day, sometimes it just works again in Story mode. But it never seems work in Infinite mode and that save is one day 60+ .

Not sure if this is intended but pretty sure this is a bug.
The Red Bush does not work in Infinite mode, I've tried making a new save and getting to the Cabin before the time doesn't activate. I've had longer saves that it didn't work on, sometimes doesn't work in Story Mode either. Again I make sure to get to Cabin before 3am and it doesn't activate when the time comes around.
I have tested back on 0.8.1 and 0.8.2 and it's affected both Infinite and Story mode. I was playing a Story save made on a not stable 0.8.2b patch back on test version 7 that didn't work. Making a new Story Save did seem fix my problem for the Red bush, but did not fix the problem for a new Infinite save. The grass is also still bugged in the Red Bush dimension being extended pixels in form of triangles of each grass PNG.
I'll try update the post as I get further in a new save on current stable patch/update of 0.8.2b and see if Story save gains the problem with Red Bush over time, and report any new information.

Oh so it is, you've saved me and many others time found the thing I thought I lost on the water. Still unsure why the streamer Criken's safe yeet it self onto land. I am very happy to have learned this, thank you friend.

Yeah that's very true and agreeable, even if it means missing something you have yet to see.

Have heard about the Sandbox item, the Handheld Radar with a maximum range sounds like a great idea make it pricey to help balance it out bit if need be.

As much I love Winter Mode it seems to break things, not sure how or why but here’s some observations about what tends to happen. Spoiler warning for those that have not finished Story Mode.

During the 2024 Halloween event when turning on Snow Mode briefly the Jack o’ Lantern I the water hole next to the lake disappears, yet the one in the well stays perfectly fine. Durning Criken’s playthrough the Safe wasn’t where it was supposed to be, and for some reason was flung near Tr 1 and the Teleport log. Yet when I killed a pig the meat piles during Christmas Event, the meat pile remained while rocks, scrap, and meat chunks fell back into the water. What’s been theorized between me and some other is that items get launched out of the water when turning on Snow mode.

While the other main observation is Kerfurs and creatures, such as wisps and boars, tend get stuck in water a lot which was also theorized something about how Snow Mode affected pathing. Notable places they get stuck in river near bridge right next to the base, Kerfur heading towards Xray seems get stuck in river, somewhere between Xray and Quebec, even though they can easily move out of the river so not prevented by Terrain this time. One point when I headed towards the little island in lake near Oscar by Kerfurs were unable follow me up there, even though previously they had no problem yet turning on Snow mode they were able cross the water. Might be something similar to how entities were getting stuck on the ice during Christmas event.

Here’s some changes and additions I thought of  that might improve gameplay/quality of life.

  1. Change the threshold when the ATV starts to smoke, unsure how possible this is but it’s rather annoying when it starts smoking barely around 80 health. Perhaps make it so at 50 health small amount smoke starts coming off which gradually gets thicker and darker as the health decreases, maybe by 10 health it’s completely thick black smoke.
  2. Change the Digital Map dot of player into an arrow instead for better and easier navigation. As well as make an upgrade, could be really expensive, where Digital Map becomes connected to radar by displaying entity dots and depending on Modules changes to colored dots.
  3. Another upgrade, again could make it very expensive, is the ability to have either a Map holder on ATV or a Map built into ATV for ease of navigation and finding Entities faster. It’s a pain trying find something that’s constantly moving and missing out and finding it, especially if it’s a rare spawn to begin with.
  4. Maybe to balance out the upgrade to Digital map with Radar pings, is have an Event where new pings appear near player. Some of the pings appear and disappear then reappear gradually growing closer, other pings could be multiply unknowns surrounding the player. Sometimes they are real things, other times there’s nothing there, and maybe a rare event is something at insane speeds rushing towards player from furthest point from them that maybe kills the player or send them to unknown place/dimension.
  5. Unsure if it’s a bug or not, but unable to select a single color for Gamer Kerfur to be. Or if that was ever an intention with that Kerfur, which would be nice to choose your own color of Kerfur to have. Maybe even change the face display color to be different from main body color.

Been enjoying the newest Test version, but have encountered a bug with the Console Command "Scr". The game does seem register the command as when I hit either J or K it's not typed in, but the list doesn't scroll. Even loading back into the Save the bug is still there, I tried seeing if it still persisted in the Satellites and it does.

However the sv.target command seems to work just fine now.

Unfortunately I'm still running into the Achievement Bug with the Tutorial, I've tried leaving as soon I get the Achievement, then I've tried 'completing' the last part to see if that keep it. Neither seem to work, what I have noticed is the Achievement is still there before I got to the next part of run. Hope this is descriptive enough to not be hard understand, but not give away what it is. Cause I'm not sure if this be considered a spoiler or not, so sorry if this isn't enough or not correct way go about this.

The best way I found thus far, is buy tons of Cookies and just leave them at their place. If you have the one Setting on that says you Gained or Lost rep, you will get loud notification but that means it's working. But I found the Cookies to be the most cost effective way to increase Rep, without wasting too much money on Shrimps, because even if you take shrimp out and each one increases Rep on their own it's still costly. Hope this helps you.

Sorry hear you have it too, but also glad not just me and one other person.
What I have learned recently that seems to work. Got back and once you get the '7 Hour' achievement, I'm not sure which worked cause I did both to be sure. Is you go into Settings and hit Apply, after die so you get kicked back to the Starting Menu. I drowned which didn't take too long and that seemed to save the Achievement for me, so it might work for you too. Hope this helps as a Temp fix.

Just in case, a small Warning for potentional Spoilers for the Tutorial.
So an update on the Tutorial Achievement in 0.8.0e, and still didn't give it to me in the ways you are supposed to. Once again tried exiting to menu immediately, as well 'completing' the last part and exiting. I noticed the Achievement only stays for the second part, up until I either exit to menu or go to next part.

I tried something someone said that somehow worked for them, that did work for me as well is after getting the Achievement go to Settings and hit Apply. Now I also made sure die in Tutorial, so not 100% sure if the Apply or dying was what got it to work. But overall the bug is still there, and not sure why or how it's like that. Hope this is enough information on what it is and how fix it. Thanks for great game so far

Been loving 0.8.0, but I have something that hopefully isn't too spoilerly and not sure where else to report this. So forgive me if this isn't correct place do this.

But the "7 Hour" achievement doesn't stay for me, whether I finish the Tutorial Easter Egg or exit the Tutorial immediately after words, I check the Achievements and it's not there anymore and I'm unable to buy the unlock for the Achievement. I tried downgrading my game to the first release of 0.8.0, I tried getting the achievement when I think it was 0.8.0c. I tried doing the Achievement again in 0.8.0d, still not saving that I did the Achievement. Not sure what else to do, or how fix this.  Hope this enough information on this, only seen one other person experience this bug thus far.
