Currently all the wilderness tiers contribute to the imprint find the same way, hoping that in the future the deeper you go the easier it becomes to find one. Techniques are cool in concept but I think we just bulldoze everything through power level anyways so they are just a niche completionist goal.

The way I did apex relics was by going to the missing wilderness by guild reports. I'm currently on the technique grind. Trying to get all the techniques basically gets you most of the imprints anyways, but these are probably the worst of the bunch only gotten 6 techniques in a couple of hours. Too bad they do add up growth bonuses and I want that in my build for act 2 since we can't really come back as we please.
Trying to thoroughly complete Act I:
All willbowbrook areas full familiarity and apex relics ✓
All dual element town passives collected
All wilderness Apex relics, Techniques, Imprints (current grind)
All Guild field reports ✓
All dual beast nature studies in hall of zenith
All imperial studies done and cultivation array building reduced to 50%? ✓
Am I missing something in this checklist?
Is there anything from the 10 element confluence wilderness I need ? 100k kills on the apex?
It’s reassuring to hear that the stop-button friction and manual fights aren't the final vision. Really excited to see what Soul Forging looks like once the surrounding systems are plugged into it. Going to knock out the rest of Act I, and I'll be back to break things again on 1.2.1 once I've finished the wildernesses (wildernessi?)
Alright caught up to the First (or is it second?) Region. Interesting direction, this domination of tyrants seems like an interesting direction to go. The soul forging may look like there's player agency at the start but it really just forces you to go train the aspects till you can do 100% of the expression.
I know this entire region is a WIP and will be polished much later when Act I is in a good shape enough to allow Act II development, but I'll make some comments for the eventual polishing.
The complete activity stop when training an aspect or filtering miasma unless you press stop goes against the user experience from Act I. My two cents would suggest changing it to allow user choice of action freedom by pressing another action or lock that ability behind a trinket or certain miasma tier with some lore that once you channel miasma you can't do another action unless you take the time to stop etc.
This also goes for exploring paths like the complete lock and inability to do anything is kinda jarring. I'd also like for the challenging fights to follow some system similar to willowbrook and wildernesses as its hard to grind them out when you have to manually fight people.
Great start to Act II though, very vested in where the story takes us. For now though, I will refrain since I have to go complete Act I and leave nothing.
I decided to just get all the relics, you inadvertently get a pretty large lump of imprints and techniques by relic farming but yeah once per life for 55 diff wilderness zones seems like a lot of short stopping of lives. Especially if the wilderness count expands as we go into Act II
For Core 3: I feel as though having 10-15 bands of cultivation is fine as an idea but the jump from core 2 to 3 to have that as a requirement does require the grind at the cave for a chunk of reincarnations. Should be a better way of earning initial affinity jumps so you only need to get like 4-5 bands worth of cultivation loops in.
That speed hiding the percentage must be it, thanks for adding confirmation skipping so quickly.
Edit: I think it might be that the time period for discovery might be passed before the travel into the deep wilderness finishes? Even on 1x speed I can only see Nothing to be found or You've made a discovery if I reincarnate and head directly to the deep wildernesses (mono). Maybe we could have the percentage retained in the outcome text?
Could we get some options to disable the warning prompts? Kind of tedious to have to confirm reincarnation and wilderness confirmations and meeting ilya fen every time in imperial city and so on
If we could keep the time setting instead of it dropping to x1 after using wilderness reincarnation that'd be nice. Also did we lose the discovery % chance in the recent update?
Nah, don't spread yourself thin checking every zone. You're dry because the game nerfs the drop rate in a zone every time you actually get an imprint there.
Fresh zones start at a 25% chance i think, but once you get an imprint, the starting odds for the next one in that same spot drop until they hit a low of 5%.
The pity system (the +1.5% boost per failed visit) stays locked to the zone you failed in. Fire runs won't help Wood. So if you repeatedly grind out fire the chance will rise again until you get to a drop chance that you get one. Its supposed to be a rather repetitive gameplay loop for minmaxing, its not vital to progression in the game. What you do is go to a wilderness level and look for an imprint, if it doesn't drop in the first 10 years then just grind out the relic or reincarnate.
I'd need a fact check on if each wilderness imprint is independent because im not sure if you can try for an imprint in other wilderness if you fail the rng drop for one.
As much as I like having the option to go to inner/deep wildernesses(wildernessi?), the single large drop down box is very clunky when you are trying to explore everything.
I suspect a large rehaul of this page is going to be eventually needed anyways as we get to deeper and deeper and layers since this single drop down box is gonna become overpopulated.
Also is it just me but deep mono wilderness are never saved properly to reincarnate from default? Going to Deep fire starts me off in outer lightning in one reincarnate from default but inner water in another. Something fishy going on there
Sure I'll send you the save via the support email.
My reasoning was that the ordinary span is 60
Mortal Longevity Practices gave me 320
Imperial Teachings were
280 and 180 respectively
Add the 60 or so wilderness insights I have and I got the lifespan of 900. The 20% increase from the research should give me around 90 years if the imperial teachings were getting boosted.
Appreciate the information QoL update. Any chance it can be extended to cover other layers of the wilderness as well?
Edit: Just wanted to clarify that the drop down having the symbols is nice but like was mentioned in some other comments, maybe this chain of having only direct access to dual outers is outdated. Logic presumes that we'll be getting Deep dual regions so an upfront way of seeing what relic we need to farm would be nice somehow.
I'm going off the basis that insight and techniques don't need this because they are shared across the depth of wilderness as long as the element is the same.
Ok so this is a reward from pursuing all the possible timestreams when you're working on saving willowbrook. One of them ends up with you fleeing the village and the cave and having a spat with the tea master rather than defending the village or helping the villagers. The bonded beast is a reward/path companion that stems from that.
I'm not sure if this is a mandatory flag because you can do everything in the game without it, it just has some small modifiers that help with a plethora of things.
EDIT: I think you should be able to get it without having softlocked your save just go back to willowbrook's start point and ignore the beast tide or something. Maybe someone with better memory or doorwatchers can chime in with the exact steps to get the pet.
Honestly I never checked the wildnerness after realizing that harmonized provides a unified bonus. I'll just test the wilderness wandering and see if affinity increases.
Mono Outer: Doesn't not do it, or its very slow. Didn't see any gain in 500 years
Mono Inner: Wandering does not increase affinity. same as above
Dual Outer: Wandering does increase it but at horrible rates, harmonized settlement is superior.
Dual Inner : Marginally better than Outer
Mono Deep: Same Pace as Inner/Outer.
I agree with your wilderness findings, they are most definitely broken because I remember getting far better returns from wilderness for affinity gains. I also am not sure if this is because I'm band 17
