The character didnt turn? Is it a bug? You use the mouse to rotate. Also, Im glad someone got hit with the car, that was the most fun I had when play testing.

Wow, what a great little game. Just this demo is super awesome, if you expand on this even more, you'll really have something special. I'll definitely be buying it on release. Great work brother.

“Not exactly sure what’s going on lol.” Damn, i keep getting that. I tried to do a minimal ui thing but it really seemed to confuse people. The “doormats” we’re supposed to be indicators on where to stand. I got near the end of the jam and realized “how the hell is anyone supposed to know to stand here?” That was my not so elegant solution. What do you think would have been better?

"I don't think I completely understood exactly what to do". What do you mean by this? I tried to do a minimal UI type of thing but maybe I should have just explained it more. What part of it was confusing? The Trick-or-Treating mechanic? Did you get to the end scene?

Yeah I kind of didn't want the player to be able to actively make the ghosts go away but I really should have added more movement options. Thanks for playing tho.

Thanks for playing! Hope you enjoyed it.

Visuals are awesome, perfect implementation with the theme. I like the static mechanic, really clever. The only thing I would change is the move speed. God I would kill for a sprint button.

I really like the environment of the game. I would just recommend leaving the text at the start on the screen a little longer. The floating enemies hitboxes seem a little wonky, I felt like I was hitting the head but it didn't register. There should probably be a trigger under the map that kills the player too instead of just letting you fall infinity.  Also, I would add a slippery physics material to the player so that they slid off the terrain a bit. I found myself getting stuck on trees a lot, which made traversal a little rough. Also add a restart button in your menu. This should be pretty easy with SceneManager.LoadScene(SceneManager.GetActiveScene().name) The "Quit" button just kind of seemed to freeze the game. I really think you should start the game with the fog off because the scene looks really cool!

If anyone is looking for royalty free music you should try Ende.app. I would love to get some custom music from a talented composer but Im running out of time and I just found this site. Its got some great music, even some horror songs. Give it a try.

Hey Gunaraj, im trying to get a team together and Id love to have you. Im a beginner Unity Designer/Programmer and this will be my first Game Jam as well. I think we have a composer and artist already on the team. An experienced programmer would be super helpful. Let me know if you’re interested. My email is KrysKnife8@gmail. My discord is Valhallan5901.

Awesome, I just send you a friend request on discord.

Hey Christian, I'm trying to get a team together for the jam, my first one btw. I'm a beginner designer/programmer on Unity. I listened to some of the songs on your playlist and they're great. I'd love to get a talented composer, who has a few game jams under their belt, on the team. Let me know if your interested.

Hey Tespy, I'm looking to put together a team for this game jam and I was wondering if you'd be interested in joining up. I've messed around with unity for a couple years, on and off, and I've even taken some of GameDev.tvs courses. I'd say UI is definitely one of my weaknesses but I really like designing systems. It looks like you have a fair bit more experience at that, as well. I would really like to be able to learn from you, your Amanita project looks like a really impressive goal. I'm new to game jams but email me if you're interested at KrysKnife8@gmail.com.

Hey Leon, I looked at your demo reels and you have a great voice and really nice production value. I'm looking to put together a team for this game jam, I've messed around with unity for a couple years, on and off, and I've even taken some of GameDev.tvs courses. I like to think I'm a decent writer and have even taken a class on voice acting myself. I'm new to game jams but email me if you're interested at KrysKnife8@gmail.com.

(1 edit)

Hey all,

I've noodled around with Unity on and off for a couple years and this will be my first game jam, so I'm hoping to join a team and get some experience collaborating with other devs.

I've programmed some pretty basic systems and I love designing fun mechanics. I also like to think I'm a pretty decent writer but I'll help in whatever way I can.
