Very nice medical guro with a thought-out world behind it, I liked The Voyeur a lot and this game gave me similar good feelings 🙏

Really loved reading this, not exactly sure how to word my thoughts but i feel as if this work scratched a subconsious itch in my brain i never realized was there until now, beyond it being unique and impactful in its own right it is psychosexual as fuck overall and I really appreciated how Robin's meditations were illustrated, her anger and her yearning. Thank you KILLJILL as always
Insane, I couldn't look away. If you are reading this comment and haven't read Displacement of Water yet, stop and read it instead.
Not really sure where to begin, because it held my intruige through the entire span. The full-body search scene was what initially had me hooked, and I appreciated how it informed the rest. I also liked how it struck me that her looking into the toilet could be a parellel for the silver coin. Anyway, this game didn't miss a single beat. I can tell a lot of thought was put into all of the choices, from the visual design to the actual narrative choices, which is truly amazing for the span of time it was made in.
To be honest I thought the Angel would be annoying (I guess I have a bad experience with such 'sidekick' characters) but now I feel stupid for ever having thought that, as it ended up only adding to everything, and it even made me laugh out loud a few times. I also really appreciate where we left off with Sicil, how she felt down-to-earth, moreso as Harmonica continued to unravel through the loops. I liked when Sicil explained her perspective of the idea of 'debt.' I liked how Harmonica's anger manifested as soon as she wanted something else. I also liked the cheese/eggs drama (coffee too. . . breakfast drama?) and furthermore just the role that texture had in this story. And the stepmom?! Thank you, I love your work. Soooo yummy.
So messy and sexy and fun. I really enjoyed the two's dynamic and I just liked Lydia a whole lot. I really appreciated the depth in which she was idolized by Vi in all the different facets, and how Lydia's madness and her true perspective of her robot shown through even when she was acting sweet on the surface. When she acted on her frustration it made it all the more real. Thanks for making this!
i just finished reading this, felt the need to comment right away even though i already know ill be thinking about it far into the future too. devastating work, i felt breathless pretty much the whole time as the meaningfulness of everything continued to sink in while simultaneously new events kept punching me in the lungs. Your writing really sticks all the landings in bringing to the surface a sense of overwhelming dull pain that is sharp at exactly the right moments. thank you and i hope to read more from you in the future too
whenever people use the term 'slice of life' i always hope they are of similar understanding as i, where works like this are pinnacle because it really goes above and beyond demonstrating the gothic beauty of the mundane and grotesque society, this story truly felt like it was 'lived in' i.e. dread and apathy and guilt and grief or i guess in this case 'grey foam' that cannot be expressed in words alone and manifest during awkward moments instead (also living with boomer parents and going to public school)
also, i remember seeing you saying that you have a complicated relationship with drawing at some point on bluesky (sorry if im misinterpreting/misremembering.) this work and its thoughtful relationship with 'visuals' art stood out to me the most and honestly struck me, so i hope you do appreciate your process beyond it being a means to an end because i really appriecated the wisdom this game demonstrated. i havent played butterfly aeffect yet but i will be sure to soon as well as anticipate future works from this circle. also im sorry i dont have any meaningful concrit in this review but i hope you know it touched me especially the ending portion.
Thank you for playing, I'm happy to know this was one of your first VN experiences, and that you enjoyed. :) As for as why that ending is like that I hope you can accept my only answer: that it is largely up for interpretation!! But the story isn't over so maybe things can be resolved in a more satisfying way for her in the future.
played this last night in a voice call and i was cheering and clapping and howling going 'aww' like every two seconds being an absolute nuisance but i couldn't help it because i became so obsessed with the flesh and the robot's relationship. i couldn't help but be heartbroken for both of them, so their bond was ultimately very fun to follow. obviously, i was rooting for them to murk everyone in the facility by the end and escape, but the canon ending really does paint a picture of the bleak world of the A.E. I left very satisfied with my experience. Even the weapons director, who was very disgusting, had love in his heart in his own awful way. very toxic, very great work!
holy shit, im kind of upset at myself for only now getting to reading this. this is the kind of narrative that really shines with smart visual presentation, and you did all that and more, plus with Cyparisse being an all-around top-tier vn narrator it really excels. basically, it was a banger. im glad that there will be future entries in this series, (and also updates to this entry!! :D) i eagerly anticipate whats to come. also flowers for adding full controller support. i am a major renpy controller advocate so thank you. thank you for making this ,im blown away that it was written in only a few short days. fantastic work!
i think miriam can make everything possible with the power of love. although i dont think that specifically would be a very responsible choice in their case. no promises on more 'interactive' storytelling in the future since the timeline(s) in this universe are already fixed, but to be honest i think adelle's uselessness (choices or not) is part of her dynamic. i hope even with limited options the reader can feel more 'in control' in the future.
