I will be making some changes to the game once I have time in a few weeks. I will definitely make the pointer red when it leaves the safe zone. I have thought about removing the rotating triangle partially or entirely because of complaints about the game being too slow. I might remove the triangle when the player is replaying a section they have already gotten to, then add it back when they get to new sections. What do you think of this change? (fellow Garageband user)

I will also make new music for this game since the existing music is reused from my previous game. I didn't have time to make new music for the game jam.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. You actually don't have to hold down anything to draw, but the game doesn't make that clear. I tried to make this game work without text, which I think turned out cool but also causes some failures in communication.

This game is a lot of fun. The sounds and animations improve the experience a lot. The music is perfect for this type of game. The part of the game I enjoyed most was the beginning and middle, when the baseball bat mattered and I had to strategically use it to hit multiple pinatas at once. Toward the end of the game, there is too much going on for me or my computer to follow. I would suggest cutting back on some of the objects in the late game like reducing the maximum spawn rate for small pinatas. Maybe you could remove some of the later pinata types so that the existing ones stand out more. By the point that I was unlocking the bunny, hedgehog, and dino, I felt like they were uninteresting and adding little to the game. (From a game design perspective) (They do look nice and I know you put effort into the art)

Finished in 42:10!

good game, excited to see if you add more to it. this particular circle seems to be bugged as I have seen it multiple times with a buy and sell option.

This game has a lot of potential but it is a bit tedious to me right now. I would most like to see a visual indicator for the relative prices of products, because it is tedious to look through the current price lists and compare. After that, some sort of goal other than to make the number go up would be nice. Keep working on this game. I am excited to see where you take it.

Great idea and good execution. I'm impressed that the game can keep good track of what the player is doing even when all the interactions are physics-based. I found some bugs:

- The fence isn't long enough on the left, so one can simply jump around it and win the game.

- When pushing the table using the lawnmower, if the table collides with a tree, the game thinks the player won by using the tree to push the table.

- The game often thinks the player won using the crate or the rocks if they merely touched them then did something else.

I had a great time with this game. I think the levels were well designed and had a good difficulty progression aside from the bug on level 1. (Funny that you missed an alternate solution on the simplest level and not the later ones. I was worried I would run into a similar bug later but I didn't.) I agree with Fruit Kobold's comment that the later levels were more straightforward, and I think you could make them harder by using less tiles as constraints. I would like to play more levels as these 6 were fun. The art was very good. I thought the audio could have been better though. I think the removal sound, the mars placement sound, and the ambient sounds for city and mars were a bit too loud or abrasive for the relaxed atmosphere of the rest of the game. Also, use different removal sounds for each world. I imagine that some ambient background music like in Mini Metro would work well with this game, but that's personal taste.

I love this game. The main mechanic is a great idea and well-done. I had a lot of fun in the three runs I played. There is surprisingly some depth to the strategy already since someone can choose to do slow loops or fast loops that buff the player. I enjoyed it a great deal yet there still seems to be room to expand the game. More complex code (I don't know what that would be) and more levels would be great. The theme is very enjoyable and I think it can be taken much further. After defeating boolean on my first playthrough, I thought of having a bad ending in which the player removes the wait 3s line to buff themself forever. I gave the game an almost perfect score, with a 4 in audio because the sound effects are a bit quiet and some events are silent. Please keep working on this game. There is still so much you can do with it.

(1 edit)

I like the idea of farming and using the crops to progress. I wish there was more progression to this game. The art is great and the revolver is funny. I think the fast enemies are way too dangerous while the stronger enemies have too much health. It takes a long time to kill them yet they are easy to dodge. I also wish the controls were in the description or a tutorial because it took me a while to figure out how to plant seeds.

I like the main game mechanic not the level design. I wasn't able to beat any levels after the triangle one. (Were you able to beat them in playtesting?) I think you could make something cool out of this game with better levels.

I only got 101 points 😭

The movement is hard to control and I think it's too easy to die from the earth or flying out of bounds. The idea and ui are cool though.

I kept Perfect in the title because of my inspiration from actual perfect-circle-drawing games. But I agree with the complaint, and I've changed it now. I plan to make some changes to the game after the jam like having the cone match the player's speed and reducing the cone damage at the beginning. Thanks for your feedback.

I like the idea and the execution is pretty good. The audio and music are good, and I love the art. I found a few bugs:

- Having a second copy of "green cards get +1" adds one to the numbers displayed on green cards but does not affect scoring.

- Player Gems counter does not decrease when a gem is removed.

- "Green with gray pair" and similar items don't seem to work.

- Items are kept after winning the game and restarting.

I would like to play more levels after level 4, because this was really fun.

Everything is done well. The gameplay mechanic is a great idea that is well-executed, the simple visuals are great, the sound and music are good, and even the vague text before the levels makes them feel more important. The levels are mostly well-designed although I struggled with level 7 (is the solution actually to race to the left side and climb up?) and level 9 (I spent so long trying to find the Knowledge, I even tried to jump to the left to see if the screen would wrap around, lol)

phenomenomal, my first perfect rating so far.

I see you tapped into the indie roguelike genre with this game, and you did it really well. The card mechanics were engaging, and the visual effects/audio were very satisfying. I think the game can go even further by adding more cards that interact with each other. A minor nitpick is that the tutorial is very long and it can be shortened by allowing the player to discover things as they play. I got to 13 rounds completed.

I like the gravity mechanic and I reached the "Finish Game" square after some effort. Is there any more to the game? I can't go through the door. Otherwise, this is a cool demo of a game mechanic. I am curious about how you did it.

What's the password?

This game looks cool but I have no idea how to get past the beginning of the game. I am stuck in the spawn area with one person shooting at me. Can you tell me what to do so I can give the game a proper try?

I really like this idea but I think the execution of the minigames themselves are a mixed bag. I liked the roll of the dice minigame, I didn't like the scanning one (it's also too confusing the be the first one, but I guess that's how the years lined up), and I thought the other four minigames were decent. I think the game could be improved by introducing the base mechanics first, then introducing all the spin-off minigames once the player has learned them. The learning curve is very steep with that 2019 minigame at the beginning.

Cool idea, and I'm excited to see what you think of in the future if you keep doing game jams.

I seem to be unable to click any buttons in the main menu after running the game

The game mechanics are very good but the game as a whole doesn't work for me in its current state. It's possible to make cool elaborate robot-killing mechanisms, but the game does not reward creative strategies. It's easier to use a simple strategy like placing walls for every robot or letting all the robots die to a single mine. The map is so big that the player can do these things forever without trying to use the other structures. I think the systems in the game have a lot of potential but the overall game is confused about what kind of gameplay experience it is trying to be. The game feels like a sandbox because the map is so big and the player can place infinitely many things, but it also tries to have stakes by making the player restart when the human dies or a robot survives. I think these two elements clash heavily with each other.

You have already created some excellent gameplay mechanics and there are many directions you could take this game. Very cool concept and the art is good. I think updating your audio and adding simple sound effects to go a long way in making the game more fun. I gave 5's in creativity and art.

I like this game has a lot of potential if some more mechanics are added in. Right now, each round plays exactly the same, and once the player encircles the snake, they have already won. I think that a feature like random terrain + or map design could make the game more interesting since it would be harder to encircle the snake. The visuals and sounds are good.

??????? I feel like I need several layers of context to understand this game. Why does it become a horror game after level 1?  Level 3 is way too hard. I failed two attempts at it and I no longer have the will to herd sheep. I will never know if there are any more levels. The absurdity of the game is quite funny so I could call my experience "enjoyable" but I don't want to hear the loud breathing sounds for a third time. 5/5

I like the game mechanics and levels. The last one is a good challenge. I like the art, although the narrative it is supposed to convey is a bit strange. I thought the mutant duck was a fox, and puzzles can be solved while pushing the duck into holes which is NOT saving it. The holes were convenient for the way I solved the puzzles, but I'm not sure if they were intended to be used as a teleporter back to the start after getting stuck in a room.

I wanted to try the game so I downloaded it (on mac) but I can't open the game. Just make a WebGL build of the game so that everyone can play.

I like the main grapple mechanic. The game feels a bit slower, so I think it would benefit from increased gravity and swinging speed. Also, please let people respawn at the start of each level instead of the beginning of the game.

There are a lot of cool systems in this game and I like the art/music. But I wasn't sure what to do, and it took so long for me to figure out how to play that I was losing interest. I suggest putting all the controls in the tutorial because not everyone will scroll down to the description and read them. I suggest making the gameplay experience simple at first, starting with one system like tree chopping or combat. Then, when the player learns how to do basic stuff, introduce them to the other systems in the game. This is to prevent overloading the player with information. This has great potential, I think you just need to take the things you already made and arrange them into an easier gameplay experience for new players.

I'm new to game jams and I tried to make a game for this one, but I fell victim to bad planning and procrastination. I'm now struggling to start a game for a different game jam, and the self-doubt has been telling me that I'll fail again. This game has given me inspiration to make something though.

It is difficult to move around with only the hooks. I like the art. The reset button breaks the game.

Can I make a game alone? (I am a student)
