Ok just uploaded the new version (Version 3) ;) First time using butler because the build got that big on 1gb+ - sorry for that! New Version should be available at any moment! <3

Awesome, that you like it and i hit the name right hihi.

You’re doing perfectly fine btw ;). I intentionally designed the “taming” not as taming in the classical way to fit a druidic vibe. You instead get a “memory” of the animal you “calmed/cleansed” and not defeated.

When you reach the first Ritual tree you can set bond with those memories to have them aid you in combat via the radial menu on Q. A little more guidance might not be wrong i think… but kinda wanted the exploration and not “in your face” with mechanics.

I am ready with version 2.0 in half an hour and redesigned all the Voiceacting (normalized volume) as well as added combat sounds and fixed a couple of bugs, if you wanne give it another go :)

Updated the Walkcycle to be more animal like.

Thanks 😉 The recent brackeys GameJam had the theme “risk it for the buiscuit”.

I was part of a small team as a 3D Artist and did the character designs. I went with a low poly, humor driven design for the Monsters.

They are the ingredients you were supposed to fight and collect as the needed items for the perfect biscuit recipe 😀

Thank you for the kind words! I got to find out what is wrong with the build somehow, multiple people couldnt play or the GPU tanked far too much and it was laggy. Sry i tried some new stuff i never did before - learning by doing right? ;) Big thanks for trying mate - gonne try to improve more to get the next game better and better!

Yeah i managed to get the systems in place and focused too long on art to get the gameloop ready. Damn! ;) Allways misscalculating the time for the game itself haha.

I like the idea. You got still some way to go, but got potential for a little casual timekiller game ;)

I like it ;) Would be nice, if you actually got health yourself and not just the counter at the end. Would feel a lot more challenging and rewarding as well for good gameplay ;) The game seems rly hard and addictive beside that. Keep on improving!

I like it. I just think its not balanced yet haha. Just 3 leftclick, then rightclick for ultra AoE all the time. Dont need to aim anymore at all :D

I like the grafics and i love the bard theme ;)

Really fun, didnt get the idea why some items are effective or not but i love the artstyle. The music is sweet and the gameplay smooth and fitting. Good job!

Damn :( thats not good. You could try the 1.0 version - it was released half a day before the deadline and isn’t that far developed - but maybe that one works? I gonne try to find the fix for after the jam - but both downloadables work for me and dont crash!

I had a lot of fun.. like you can see haha. The skills seem decently balanced and the game is in a fine state between challenging and rewarding ;)

The melee classes would rly love some for of lifesteal tho! The potions are fine for ranged classes, risky to get close to at times but much needed. For the meleeclasses you end up picking decent range to circle around with aoe dmg anyways and it feels the same as for ranged classes in the end. Some more class identity in those terms would be great!

Beside that - good work mate!

I like the idea but somehow cant get the hang of it :D eigther i reflect the same knife 100 times for a lot of points or they just hurt me any idk what to do hrhr

You can spam all the buttons at the same time ;) Makes it a little too easy.

Ok retried the game a little to see how far i can get ;)

Just realised you can just spam ASDFJKL all at once with no penalty ;) You wont miss a note any time again, but still you get cramps :D

Had quiet some fun! ;)

Some of the stuff i realised:

  1. The gun “groove” is not in the rythm with the music! You allways have to look down there, which is rly annoying :D
  2. A looot of health on the map :D
  3. Lategame your ability is rly overpowered. You dont need to aim at all. Just w8 for the ability and kill everything :D

The idea is sweet and i think with some itemupgrades there is potential ;)

Loved it so much! ;) needed some time to get used to what to use - i think the splitters are far too rare, especially in the beginning, when the shop is small.

Homing, bouncing, piercing front shottgun carries so hard, that you dont need any other guns anyways haha.

Some ideas:

  1. The screen is so colorful of explosions and bullets in the lategame that its kinda impossible to dodge - maybe a more noticable color for bullets?
  2. More splitters ;)
  3. sideguns are kinda - mäh - you kinda only want front anyways - maybe make them more viable by not needing direct power but beeing able to be powered from the side?
  4. at the beginning of the game you can be greeted with undodgable bullets before you get control. Maybe add a grace period?

–> hell i played far too long! :D

Loved it ;) Once you find the balance it feels too short haha.

Oh nooo! :( Thats so sad! I dont know why that is tbh. I tried the gamebuild multiple times and it worked for me. Should be possible to play. Is anyone else having those problems?

Update 1.1 is ready to download in the FBX version. All assets should be joined to a single mesh each.

Great idea! I wasn’t sure if some people might like to work with the original meshes I used to combine, to make adjusting and changing them yourself easier.

But if thats easier to handle I’ll join them in the next update.

Hey everyone,

I recently released a couple of free 3D assets in a “Stoneage” theme and with low poly style and I am currently developing multiple other assets for the following project:

A high quality Survival Video Tutorial Series:

Stoneage: Survival

I would love to get your feedback/ideas while creating more assets and planning out the video Scripts.

What I got so far:

  1. Stoneage: Nature Pack
  2. Stoneage: Characters
  3. Stoneage: Weapons

What is planned:

  1. Stoneage: Wild hunt (currently creating animations for a wild boar)
  2. Stoneage: VFX
  3. Stoneage: Sounds

What else do you think might be needed for a full gamedev package?

After having all the assets in place, I will tackle the video tutorial series, that is based around those assets. The idea is to have everything you need for your first project prepared in advance and for free, to give beginners a great start into game development.

I plan to script the videos with a mix of educational and storytelling. As a former teacher I kinda like the idea of having self learning challenges etc. build into the tutorials kinda like an e-learning.

I am not 100% for the systems yet and would love your feedback.

Survival Video Series:

  1. Character implementation/Movement
  2. Landscaping and leveldesign
  3. Interaction System
  4. Survival System (hunger/thirst)
  5. Pickup and inventory
  6. Crafting system
  7. Building (prebuild spots to limit scope)
  8. Simple combat and AI behaviour
  9. UI
  10. Sound
  11. Polish

You can see, its quiet ambicious and if you got any ideas how to cut down the scope or help me set priorities, that would be very helpful!

Thanks mate. I didnt rly have time to add a lot of Features after the basic Implementation. The Sound is just a ue5 basic Sound with a Patch Variation 😉 but I kinda like the idea of starting with nothing and building from there... the cave idea kinda fits - maybe expandable into a stoneage time game where you gradually evolve your technology up to modern times 😉 I like the idea of having it historical correct for the researches and technology and giving it a learning spin.
