thanks for your feedback!

Actually, we implemented switching through the screwdriver with numbers (1,2,3,4). We only forgot to mention it on the tutorial… Hopefully this helps you out!

Cool game :)

For some reason, even though the fast movement was a bit hard to controll at times, I really enjoyed it. It's very responsive and could be perfected with some tweaks! I also really enjoyed the portals :D Good job!

Truly a fantastic game

The mechanic is implemented perfectly, the art and sound design is great and everything feels very responsive!

I feel like that at some point, the main mechanic seems to become useless and just spamming shots around you becomes the better solution. Perhaps you could fix that a bit if you continue working on this (which I hope, it's a great game) :D

Really good job on this one :D

I really enjoy the artstyle, it's very simple but it does the job!  Same goes for the sound design and gameplay, its simple but fun.

Only thing I'd like to see is some sort of tutorial / intro (perhaps I missed that?). It took me some while to figure out why I couldn't pop some of the balls and how I could switch between the needles. Nevertheless, cool game (I got a highscore of 25 by the way ;) )

This is a shockingly good game (pun intended)

The idea of the game and the use of two themes at the same time is great. Shooting and movement feels very responsive and the sound design is well made!

Only thing I noticed is that I would sometimes die (I'm guessing I touched an enemy) and wouldn't get proper feedback for it. Also, I would sometimes lose when time ran out, even tho I already reached the goal. (The level still unlocked, guessing this is a fairly easy fix)

Besides that, really good job!

I feel like I took good care of my frog

Honestly a really simple, but relaxing game. The music is chill and gameplay is really calm. You really pulled a cute aesthetic through the whole game, good job :D

I think the game could've had a bit more content / stuff to do though. I really enjoyed petting my frog, but at some point I felt like there wouldn't be much more left to do besides buying upgrades.

Nevertheless, I believe you did a fantastic job (even only putting 7 hours in!). (I would def like to see a version with more stuff, and pet my cute froggo again)

Overall very cool game!

I really liked how you put both themes together into one game. The visuals / the artstyle is consistent and I really like the depth that the different "layers" offer!

I sometimes got stuck on the ground, and it took me a while to figure out what I could to with the "spacebar" attack... If you fixed that, I believe the game would be even better!

Again, great job and good luck :D

Is this a Veggie Tale reference?

Very cool game indeed!

Thanks my man! We really appreciate your comment :D

I am also sending PxlDevs humble thank you. He is very happy...

Sure, no problem!

Ive been playing for about 1-2 hours now, and I really enjoy it. It’s quite hard, tho I’m wanting to finish it.

Meanwhile, I have played a lot of different submissions, and have noticed that I’ve been quite „harsh“ with it in my comment.
Up until now, this is my favorite submission. I hope to see more of this in the future. Is there a way to keep up to date with the game?

Thank you very much! We appreciate your feedback :D

Hey!

This is our submission LASERKEEP :D https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1418016
We would be more than happy to receive your feedback & rating. I'll be playing Squarecube later today too...

I really enjoy the graphics on this one! The landscapes / levels are also very beautiful.

Great job, would love to see more... :D

I really like this games visual presentation. All the assets look super clean, and I love the shaders!

From an artistic standpoint, this is really polished. However, I couldn't quite get around how to properly play the game. I read the logs, but couldn't figure out what combinations to enter into the HMS (maybe that's just me being dumb haha). Perhaps that could be a bit more clear through future updates.

Besides that, I'm quite interesting in how this game will progress... I'm ready to give it another shot if you could give me a tip on the HMS ;) Good luck!

Just rated and played it! Fantastic game, probably one of my fav storytelling games so far...

Wow, such an amazing game...

First off, I really love the artstyle. Its really minimalistic, however it is consistent and looks absolutely fantastic. It's the small things that make this style really pop. Same goes for the music. The choice of music fits perfect to the game & story.

The soft and calming platforming paired with story telling is a great combination in my opinion.

Would love to see more games like this...

Also just played your game. Quite an interesting game. I wish you good luck in the jam and with your games in the future!

This game is really good at playing with atmosphere and intense story.

The storytelling is what stands out here, the unexpected elements of surprise (not going to spoil anything) really add to the intensity of the game. The art is decent, at some points there are inconsistencies (for example the UI) between pixel art and vector art. The sound design was fitting though.

Overall a quite interesting game.

Just played and left my review! Good job, and good luck in the jam :D

Really interesting concept!

I really liked the mechanic that was introduced here, also the movement felt really responsive and interesting to play with. The game was quite hard at some point, since it was quite hard to move or jump while pressing Shift. Perhaps a toggle or allowing players to rebind the controls could be a solution for that.

I also would've liked to see some sound design. Maybe a cool track or some sound effects.

Nevertheless, great game. Would def like to play a more polished version in the future!

Quite cool game, interesting mechanic.

Simple artstyle & music, but it really does the trick. Would love to see more :D

I really like this game.

Its quite relaxing and super fun. I found it to be quite hard to navigate at times because the camera was a bit zoomed in. Nevertheless, I was really suprised to see a golfing game amongst the submissions, and I really enjoyed the simple artstyle.

I think it would be quite interesting to expand on this. Especially with the theme. Perhaps there could be more things that are "not real"? Anyways, good submission :D

Quite nice game!

I really like the simple artstyle in this game, and the isometric perspective. This looks quite nice, the controlls however are quite hard in the beginning. Luckily, you get used to it quite quickly...

Overall, nice game :D

Very very nice game!

It really reminds me of "Baba is You", nevertheless this game is really charming. The puzzles are well thought out, the art fits good too. I also like the music.

Overall really cool, more levels would be really cool!

Overall, quite cool game!

I think what sticks out here, is the awesome, handdrawn art. It looks very polished overall, and the mechanic is interesting too. I feel like the gameplay could've been a bit more intense or bring another twist in. Perhaps that's something for the future

Nevertheless, good job!

Quite good game..

I really enjoy the artstyle, the music is a bit repetitive. The ending was quite suprising, though I felt like the game was a bit "boring" at some points.

Perhaps a small twist to it could make the game even cooler...

The art and the lighting really makes the game stand out!

I really like how the difficulty curve was quite steep, which kept it quite challenging.

(I also really enjoy the "level selecting" screen!)

I really like the design / artstyle of this game and I really find the story to be quite interesting aswell.

However, I feel like it is way to hard / difficult especially in the beginning. There was no proper indication for when or where the platforms were going to fall down. If this was to be fixed or improved, I'd def like to play it again!

Quite interesting game design!

I really liked how I had to think about how I could "trick" the game every single attempt. It was quite frustrating at some points, but nevertheless still fun.

I also really enjoy the simple look of the game / the artstyle with geometric shapes. Would like to see more of this...

I really enjoy the art and the gameplay of this game!

I'm pretty sure that the storyline would fit the theme, but I couldn't really get that far. The difficulty curve is quite high, so I couldnt really make it far.

Nevertheless, great game! I would like to see more of it!

Really nice submission :D

I found the plot / story telling along with the FPS action to be quite entertaining. (Of course, the VA was really charming too!)

Additionally, the controlls felt great and really responsive...

I reallly liked the art and the audio design of this game!

Although I highly discourage any violence towards Melons as a member of Team Melon, I still quite enjoyed the game. It is quite simple, yet I feel like this game could be a really cool browser game perhaps?

Would def like to see this in my Opera GX games corner, good job!

(Btw, it would be quite cool if there were options to disable the screenshake, it's a bit too strong for my taste...)

I agree.

Valiant Vikings is a cute new game entering the 2D Sidescrolling / Platforming genre. You, the player, get to play as a yet unknown Viking, because the world of Vikings needs your help! Experience beautiful scenery, wild gameplay and awesome music.
