Thank you! The hollow knight feel comes from canceling the players jump when they release the jump key! An absolute must in a 2d movement controller imo

Tip - in the shop, ads arent implemented so you can get unlimited money and try the other cars. This was awesome! Super fun to play and a lot of variety for a game jam. 

Cool proof of concept! The Jessica model has me laughing! I saw in the description you mentioned AI tools for the 3d models? Im curious what you used as I've been looking for something like that for prototyping

Very fun to play - I especially like how the movement gets refunded when contacting a wall. Would make a great mobile game

Yes and shout out to Samurai by Mattz Art . Well worth $3 for that animation pack. Definitely going to be a recurring character.

Thanks! The 2 main tricks are:

  • Use a curve of values for gravity, rather than just one. That way it can feel different at the takeoff, peak, fall and landing
  • Cut the jump short if player releases the button early.

Amazing work for a first gamejam! I love all the variety in enemies and bombs. I found it quite difficult and I think the ramp up could be a little slower so people get used to the controls. Great job!

This is so cool! Could easily be turned into a full fledged mobile puzzle game. So fun. The music is perfect and that slight shader gives a bit more life to it. Great job!

Cool idea with the ground getting broken away. The movement is a pretty clunky making it hard to survive long. If you hold W you can fly above the screen and just shoot down for infinite points. I had fun playing!

I really love the art style of this! I think adding a bit of knockback when an enemy is hit would really sell it and make it feel satisfying. Nice work

Classic. Enough variety in power ups to keep it interesting for a while. I think the gun power up is a bit OP though it made it too easy. Maybe limiting the ammo usage some how could help balance it. Very fun!

Incredible style in all aspects - graphics, sound and gameplay. This feels like a finished game that just needs some balance and a better tutorial. I found it difficult to understand overall and I kept losing (skill issue prob). Overall really unique and fun! 

Very fun! Love the visual style of everything. Only critique I have would be that the player can get a bit lost at the bottom of the arena.. making that transparent when the player is overlapping would be helpful. Amazing submission!
