An update here because I was able to finish the game! I still thought it was a bit frustrating to repeat the whole process when just one thing was missing, but since it's a short game and the ending was very cute/rewarding, it didn't bother me as much as it did on my first playthrough. Congrats on the great work once again :)

The art style completely won me over! I love the character design, and the lighting changes are impressive. Now I want to make a 2.5D game too!

Regarding gameplay, I got stuck on day 1 and kept looping, but I can see a lot of thought was put into the puzzles. Will def pick it up again later to try reaching the end. I recognize the time loop mechanic is central to the idea of finding optimized ways to help others, but gameplay wise it bugged me a bit that the day progressed so fast. Maybe it could allow for a bit more interactions before looping, but that's just me! Regardless, awesome work :)

This is impressive work for only 24 hours! I played to the end and enjoyed the story and character designs. The mechanics although simple seemed very polished to me. Great job!

Hi! Here's ours, hope you have fun with it! https://razvra.itch.io/speedlunkers
I plan to check yours out during the week too :)

Hi everyone! I tried joining the discord community but the link seems to be broken. Could someone please provide a new invite? Thanks :)

The concept is simple but it was executed very well! I like the color scheme and the music, and the "game feel" when you hit the ghosts. Good job!

Simple and fun! I think the idea is very creative, I like the speedrun aspect.

This is so fun and hard and addicting omg. It's a take on rage games that feels very polished. I didn't manage to get very far lol but it's very well made so you want to keep trying. Good job!!

Good job on the character animation! It looks pretty good.

Nothing beats the feeling of getting just the right momentum over and over! Could play this for hours. Great job!

Super fun!! It's a very nice challenge to defeat the enemies while keeping an eye on your "proximity level" to the caveman. Very nice pixel art work too. Great job :)

Man I am in love with the art of this game. It looks very nice and could totally be the final art in a full-release game! The music is also cool and very fitting. I liked the mechanic and it feels very polished, although for me it could be a bit more challenging. It seems that shapeshifters and possession of objects are a common theme in this jam - my team's game also features one (although with a different approach) so it's super fun to see other people's take on this :) Great job!

Simple but fun game! Love that isometric look.

Wow such an interesting concept! Congrats on implementing the controls. The art is also very nice :) Good job!

I like takes on the theme that tried to avoid literal weapons like swords/guns (although those are fun too, the originality is exciting!). The artstyle is one of my favorites from what I've played from the jam. Kudos on the sound design too. It was fun :) Great job!

Very nice game! I love strategy games and playing for quite a while. I had fun understanding the mechanics and figuring out which elements/positioning would work out well. Good job!

Cool take on a vampire survivors like game! I think I got a bug where at some point my beam stopped shooting until I got the next upgrade, which was frustrating and made things quite hard. Regardless, a fun game. Good job!

Very cool idea, and very good to play too. Some levels are quite challenging! I had fun figuring out the best routes. Also, very pretty thumbnail! Great work overall :)

Love this game! The concept is super funny and even funnier is the 50s setting with music and art. The way you absolutely destroy the house to do simple tasks had me laughing. Difficulty curve is very steep though. I found it challenging but fun in the first couple levels, but I couldn't for the life of me get my keys in the (I think) fourth level. It's a fun challenge though, I'd have to brainstorm a lot to think of how to keep it challenging while easing the difficulty curve a bit. Maybe tweaking the suggested trajectory dots? Regardless, a very good entry, great job!

Good game, great job!! I liked the artstyle, especially the CRT filter, and the mechanics seem quite polished. I can imagine this being expanded into a very interesting game. Maybe some speedrun mode and increasingly challenging levels in the style of super meat boy and the like. Anyway, congrats!

Thanks so much! It was very helpful to watch you playtest on stream, and we're happy you had fun! We took yours and other people's feedback to update the itch page of the game with a more detailed tutorial. After the jam we plan to update the in-game tutorial too :)

(also Jiri is precious and we're glad you liked it too lol <3)

We were very happy to read this comment! We wanted to make the game intuitive for everyone, especially people who had never heard of Truco, but at the same time we wanted to get this 'aha' feeling when figuring out Jiri's abilities. We're thinking of a way to update the in-game tutorial to better achieve that. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thanks a lot! We plan to update the in game tutorial after the jam to make things more intuitive (for now, we updated the itch page with more details). I'm happy you liked it!

All of us in the team were super happy with your comment! We're glad you liked the art/music and cultural aspects :)  and as we talked in the discord, we took yours and other folks' feedback to update the page with a tutorial on the game. Hope that helps but we always appreciate more feedback and can help if you have questions.

Thanks a lot! :)

Thank you! I'm happy you liked it <3

I had fun!! I feel like this could totally be expanded to a very addicting gameplay loop, maybe a dungeon crawler-type game where you have to take Doug to a specific spot and get there by possessing/eliminating the soldiers? Side note: I think I got a bug at some point where doug started moving on his own and possessing soldiers wasn't working. Regardless, good job!

Woah this is beautiful and one of the best interpretations of the theme that I've seen. Act 4 was very moving. Congrats on the good work!

This is fun! Kept wanting to play more runs. I liked playing as both characters, good job setting up the procedural dungeon system.

oh I see!! tried playing it again and found the game loop fun, it was nice to try positioning myself to get as many souls as possible in the blast (while also getting some bones). could imagine myself playing for a while if it had more levels. good job!

I love this take on the theme! Dropping TVs on the ground was somehow very satisfying lol. The camera was a bit difficult to control, tweaking this a bit might make it better to play. Good job!

Urumi being an orange cat is so fitting LOL. Fun and creative game, congrats on it being your first! You did a great job. If I could give any suggestions, I thought it was a bit difficult to eat the powerups with F while pressing A/D and holding the mouse.  maybe another key or mouse button could work better.

I am in love with this game! The artstyle and music are superb, character designs are super cute. I love the humor elements and the gameplay loop is very fun. One of my favorite games out of the ones I played from this jam! Great job :)

hi, were these images really generated by AI? they look so human made ;A;

I loved the artstyle and camera rotation, and the music is very good too. The stealth-like mechanics are interesting! Great job.

OMG I love the art so much! The game is full of personality. The mechanics are working very well and I had fun playing. Great job!

The amount of polish is impressive! It feels good to play (even though it's super hard lol but that's the idea). It's a nice take on this type of game to be able to change shape/have different abilities. Great job!

This has the potential to become a very addicting game! The art and sound effects give it a very nice, crunchy game feel. For now I think by just spamming skeletons I can get to the end without thinking much, so I would like to see the strategy and progression aspects being expanded in future versions. Also, when my time ran out the game just froze for me - is that expected? I'm playing on google chrome on a mac.

Love the biology-inspired takes on the theme! The gameplay is very intuitive, and I liked using the mouse wheel to play. Great job!

As a fan of visual novels in this style, I had a good time playing this! The character portraits look super good.

As a side note: when confronting Dennis, if you present the correct item first, then the wrong item second, the game lets you retry, but instead of resuming right before presenting the second item, it expects me to present the first one again, to then attempt presenting the correct second evidence. It's a minor thing, but was a bit cumbersome to have to do the first step again.  Regardless, good job on the game! Would love to play an expanded version :)
