- I had a lot of fun with this game! First the GDD: Very well written, with lots of visual examples. Loved that you showed images of what inspired your art. The timeline was solid, and properly explained each step. Good job! Now for the game: The sprites, amazing. The layout and richness in the details of the home, wonderful. The sound effects were well chosen and perfectly layered, giving a very good feeling when the bullet was shot or hitting stuff. The choice of music was also good, and already set at a perfect level. I had to check a few songs to make sure they really were in public domain, but you're all good! The idea is awesome. It is quite challenging: I think it's because the aim is off. Where you point is not where it's necessarily going to hit, or even worse: it does, but then bounces off in a completely different direction. That is something crucial in this game! The difficulty curve was good, but because of the aforementioned problem it was just much more difficult than it needed to be. If you are going to have levels with multiple steps with the house appearing with each step completed, consider having either: - a marker telling you which step of the level you are in (1/3, 2/3, 3/3 for example) - or ammo crates you can pick up. The one allows players to better plan, and give more value to each shot. The second makes it more forgiving to make mistakes. Play around with the two, see which works best! The walking AI was a bit weird and random. Sometimes I had to wait for ages for the wife to move, or the kid to kick the ball the right way (first I thought the wife didn't move at all, and struggled to find an angle where I didn't hit her, which was impossible since the bullet moved wherever it wanted!). Overall, an AMAZING game, and great execution. To all involved: great, great job! Please make this into a bigger game! It's a very refreshing and original idea that deserves to be a full game.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
A top down Precision puzzler played with mouse and left clic
you incarnate Gunther, a sentient if mute and stationary hand gun happily married in 1950s america
Your goal is to use your environment and ricochets to hit targets and help your wife and family around the house
Use your aim assist to visualise your shots and avoid your family and pets, in this lush and wacky pixel art homage to America's Golden age.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
We were tickled by the absurdity of a main character, a literal weapon diligently working against his primary function to help his family in their day to day, setting our mechanics in opposition to his lethality.
The backdrop of the 1950's is a nice contrast to offset our wacky premise.
For two of us this was our first game jam, we learnt a lot about game design and coding and working as a team, we were pleasantly surprised by the fruits of our collaboration and grateful for this opportunity, thank to PirateSoftware for organizing this event, and to all the busy judges, we hope we made something fun to look at and play.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Any feedback you have the time to squeeze in is welcome 🙂
We would be interested in feedback on our difficulty curve.
all levels are doable, but you can never playtest too much.

Love this game! The concept is super funny and even funnier is the 50s setting with music and art. The way you absolutely destroy the house to do simple tasks had me laughing. Difficulty curve is very steep though. I found it challenging but fun in the first couple levels, but I couldn't for the life of me get my keys in the (I think) fourth level. It's a fun challenge though, I'd have to brainstorm a lot to think of how to keep it challenging while easing the difficulty curve a bit. Maybe tweaking the suggested trajectory dots? Regardless, a very good entry, great job!
Another cute gun as a protagonist... I love it! The gameplay and lore are very funny, the music and the art fit perfectly! Thanks for that awesome and fun experience!
The game is really funny and the characters are endearing (even if your wife is always where she shouldn't be XD). I really like your wtf perspective and the retro vibe of the game 😍
This is a hilarious and really well done entry to this game jam, I laughed very hard when the bullet ricochet'd and hit the wife and she just shattered haha. Super clever and unique, the only improvement I can think of is adding in a fullscreen button or something to get a better view on the gameplay, as its a bit hard to see in the browser. Overall, very well done! Good job! :)
hello! F10 makes it go full screen. It's written in the tips below the game. Thank you for the kind words :)
Ah, my apologies!
brilliant lol, perfectly fits the theme, quite literally! I found myself frustrated at times when playing it, but I could tell it was due to you being short on time, not knowledge or skill. Very well done, I'd love to see more of this!
The style is well executed, together with the theme being implement both visually and through story.
The indicator doesn't always seem to line up with where the bullet goes, which is sometimes a bit annoying.
And it is hard to figure out what the bullet does bounce of, and what it doesn't. Though the quick restart makes it a lot easier.
Well done, the puzzles and balance are interesting and the wacky setting is indeed wacky and fun.
This is a very fun puzzle game, I had a great time playing it. Also, it looks gorgeous, amazing pixel art and stylistic choice.
The artstyle for this game is insanely good. I quite enjoyed the difficulty and the way bullets bounced and destroyed objects in the environment is a fun idea.
