Every wishlist we make Sveta statistically hotter.

I am very excited to commit violence.

We'll bang, okay?

This reaction rules, thank you so much for listening!

(Also, Narcose Miasma feels like a great title.)

I have been vividly taken back to my childhood feelings of watching beloved animated woodland critters in peril.

Each piece felt like a journey. I can picture a  gorgeously hand painted game.

My favourite is Mezmars Maze, those early plucks feel like underlings scurrying to surround and taunt you, and the unnerving sounds you can coax out of a violin are wonderful.

Thank you so much for listening!

I found these really evocative, Summer's Last Night has a real contentment to it, tempered by this fleeting feeling. The bittersweet inevitability of good thing needing to end.

Then of course, the less bittersweet feeling that yup, they still ended. No matter what we might hope.

Other folks have talked about the mix already but to me, the blurry warm vibe of a low heavy mix doesn't detract too much. Feels appropriately hazy.

(Also yeah, dang that's a really neat vocal synth and it's put to very good use)

Oh wow, I completely feel The Cranberries vibes now you say it. Can't quite put it into words but the like.. juxtaposition maybe of the distorted low end and the peak through of the bright top end of the chords maybe?

Completely valid! Mixing can be obtuse and weird sometimes. I still really enjoyed the soundtrack :)

I'd love to hear these played, I'm really glad you liked it!

Seaside Overture already has me filled with childlike glee at the thought of going on an adventure. Makes me feel like I don't have responsibilities and all I have to worry about is having fun on this trip. In it's latter stages it makes me feel like a tuckered out kid, run out of steam before the day is up taking a rest and accidentally falling asleep somewhere safe.

The swell at the start of Heart of The Mountain Town make my insides swell too. I can picture the place. I can smell the air. Very evocative.

I love these mallets on Lumina. I'm a sucker for some good dings.

Oooh Atlantis switching things up and getting tense. There's problems afoot, but I think it'll be ok? We've got the right idea, the right people around us. We can make it.

Empress of the Sea feeling like we're maybe not giving our problems enough credit. Those problems aren't going to take being handled laying down. We're working at the problems, they're working at being the problem. Be careful, protagonist!

I think.. I think we handled it, but barely. Maybe with some loss. Maybe we want to stop struggling, but we can't. We'll move onward, step forward without forgetting what is behind us. We can, afterall, still make it, right? But we might be putting up a front here, maybe if we opened up a little people would see our doubt. We'll keep it together for everyone else

Ok things are getting real. The chanting is back and I love it. This feels incredibly epic. We're facing insurmountable odds.. We're surrounded on all sides. Our friends are fighting their battles valiantly around us, playing their part, but we have our part to play. The big bad is back, and only we can face them. Unless we get some help from an unexpected place?

We did it, but, it's time to confront those feelings we were bottling up earlier to keep everyone together. The time for action has passed, the time for processing and feeling has come. What a wonderful conclusion.

I wrote all of the above before any context beyond song titles, I loved reading your actual reasoning. Really enjoyed this submission, the storytelling was beautiful to me, thank you for sharing.

(1 edit)

Oh let's goooo what a banger of a start. I am grooving and bobbing already. Reminds me of classic megadrive OST's.

Waxing Fun, Waning Sun feels so bouncy. The bass has this almost pompous vibe to it - so when I first listened before reading the description I felt like it was maybe like.. first boss encounter or boss goon theme music?  After reading, the end section feels even cooler.

OK so bouncing along is just the theme of this comment, ha. Best Last Day has me grinning like a loon dancing along. This gives me banjo kazooie vibes bigtime and I am here for it.

Picking a favourite is tough,. I think it's gotta be Today is NOT a Good Day just because I'm a sucker for that FM-y sounding bass but I really dig all three!

Very pretty piano to begin! Setting a nice tone, I can feel the wistful summer vibes.

Wow! Track 2 is a big shift, thunderous battle music for sure. Would definitely feel at home in an JRPG kinda game.

Ooooh Eryndor builds really nice, can feel my determination and defiance rising. I want to best this music's holder in single combat. This track is my favourite for sure, I can feel the protagonist's struggle.

We're so glad that came across :) The wavey hazy vibe and the genuine strangeness that came come with dreams was something we tried hard to hold central.

Thanks so much for listening!

Thanks for listening! Consistency was something we tried hard to stick to, since we were collaborating long distance most of the time.

We definitely agree with the repetitive nature of some of them - most of these are envisioned as loops for gameplay purposes, but if we were to expand them out we'd definitely want to develop some of the lines more for sure.

Ooooh that sax hits real hard at the start of the title track, wonderful! I find it so hard to sequence brass good, the brass is sounding rad.

The bassline on The Grand Summer Prix Opening has me feelin' like doing c r i m e s  so I can bump this while getting away. Big skedaddle vibes.

Interrogation has a wonderful back and forth feeling. Can really feel the push and pull and tension of an interrogation.

I could absolutely feel the burtonesque visual style you had in mind in La Ciudad De los Reyes, I wanted to come hither and discover the tales hidden within the city walls. For all, may not be as it seems... and Un Paso proves that it's not - the strings here in particular evoke this wonderful tangled web of lies feeling in me. Really enjoyed it!

Thank you for listening!

First time busting out the ol' speak and spell samples. They were a weirdly last minute addition - I tried to do a robot voice myself in an earlier one  <<;

You got me giggling at the description already so I'm excited to listen.

Ooh I adore the swimmy, ponderous vibes of the sun is gone, and the morph into the almost sonar-y vibes of it's second half really feels cool. Big water level vibes.

Let's goooo that's some dang fine videogame sidekick music. I wanna be buds with this snail. Feels appropriately quirky and I really dig that solo.

I can feel the coffe talk inspiration, things feel real nice and easy to listen to for a long time if needed to. I had to keep rewinding to write my thoughts cause I was getting happily lost.

You play that guitar, finger-havin' girl ;-;7

Gosh the final piece. Really nice story's end feelings. Built wonderfully, reminded me of the celeste soundtrack in some places.

I really enjoyed the whole soundtrack, antennae me would enjoy it ten times as much.

Really wistful first track, I can picture myself blissfully unaware, contemplating life and the stars, being highly abductable.

Welcome to Prison feels appropriately oppressive. Gives me some Earthbound vibes of things being, off.

Ooooh Escape!! is very aliens. I do not wanna get caught. Really like the resuse of the motif from the opener.

That sure was something has a delightful finality to it. And with that adorable gremlin of an alien from the cover art, I feel like I'm ready for another night of being abducted by aliens!

Oh that wistful wistful synth on dear diary immediately put me in a meleancholic, memories space. Reminds me of the game Coffee Talk somehow - I think perhaps it's evoking the feeling of getting to know parts of people's lives in passing?

City girl immediately hops up and gives me VA11HALLA vibes, and they carry on to you bring me joy. I think it's that gorgeously sparkly top melody over those lovely wide feeling pads. Gorgeous.

On to Come with me now and I feel the nervous excitement of an opportunity to do something new arising. This could be difficult but it could be so, so worth it! Let's go!

Uncontrollable friction is a wonderful tension builder, while still keeping those wavey, washy synth vibes going. Really digging the consistency of instrumentation too throughout everything.

Love lost is a lovely interlude feeling piece. Sometimes you gotta get those emotions out of you and into the aether and this feels like that to me. Things aren't hopeless, but they're tough. What a wonderful piece. Thank you.

That one summer night is up next, and I needed this after Love Lost. Really helped wrap the feelings that Love Lost stirred up together.  And oh gosh the vocals were a really nice surprise. I'm a real sucker for capping an instrumental soudntrack off with a vocal track, and what a finish.

That was wonderful to listen to. My favourite track was You bring me joy, but Love lost made me feel the most.

I really enjoyed the darker place you took this prompt.

My favourite track was It wasn't your fault, it really felt like it set the tone and built up some nice tension. I also alllways dig a good "they're partying inside" tune, so outside the club was very evokative and put me right in the "I'm in the alleyway outside figuring stuff out" headspace.

Also enjoyed how off-kilter a lullaby for a psychopath feels, very appropriate.

One small criticism is I think the mixes are a little harsh/loud? Might be personal preference but I think there's room to let a lot of the parts breath more there.

This city stinks. A whole lotta folks lookin' for trouble and a whole lotta folks who're more than happy to give it to 'em. I sit back in my chair and sigh, the checkbook's lookin' tighter than the knots in my shoulders. What's a gal to do on a night like this?

Still. Maybe some tunes'll help. Evenfall. Y'know, If you skim the scum off of this pond we call a city, you'll find the odd pearl. Or is that the ocean? Ah, whatever. Metaphors are for people without rent to pay anyway. All I knows is that these songs make this old gal feel something. Somethin' real. And is there anything more we can ask for in this world?

(Also I like your DAW timeline backgrounds so ++)

This soundtrack has such vibes.
Of the early tracks, I particularly love A Lively Catch's organ/guitar playing off each other. These ones really capture that small village, coming home to visit feeling to me.

Then wow, things get mysterious. Run It Back has such a cool sound. I'm a sucker for granular stuff, and I was excited to hear it after reading how it was made.

Please Don't Touch The Electronics is my favourite track. A really funky, rhythmic piece. The synth on that melody is gorgeous sounding. Everything feels like I'm surroudned by exposed wiring. It nicely bridges the gap from the acoustic feeling openers to the electronic banger that follows.

The cinematic drums on A Really Big Shadow are great, building that tension.

The Bethnic Hour wraps it all together. Bringing the guitar back, bringing the going hard back from of all the buttons to press. Sticking the landing.

I'd love to play this game.

This was a really interesting way to prequel a new campaign!

I've played in 3 campaigns of Cybertopia and I enjoy it very much and all three have managed to feel very different in fun ways.

I am a huge fan of the open-ended character creation, it's very invocative of FATE - if you enjoy building characters there, you'll definitely want to try Cybertopia.

The dice rolling lends itself perfectly to the rule of cool - if you can convince the GM that your skills in customer service will come in handy when meeting a group of angry rebels because "being front-facing is the easiest way to meet angry people" then you're golden - and even when this doesn't convince your GM, the wonderful pitches from your fellow players are very entertaining.

All in all, I can't reccomend giving this game a go enough!

We have a genre! Thanks for the listen :)

Weird is what I go for, thank you!

Those palindromic arps really get hypnotic amidst the driving pace of the track, I dig it!

Really enjoyed riding that vibe. Feels like something out of a neat gamemaker indie rpg where the soundtrack spins you off into the world.

Wow, thank you that's great to hear!

Wibbly and spacey, music to get lost in.

Beauitfully sombre swimming in ethereal sounds.

The instrument coming in at 2:40 or so made me feel. Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)

All MIDI will eventually be carcinised.

This is a very, very cool take on the theme, I think Energetic Gaming was the favourite of my path - driving forward retro vibes - but there was a big variety. Energetic reminded me a little of the Banjo Kazooie soundtrack.

Start > Energetic > Gaming > Energy > End for me!

I love the disjointed vibe the piano part has - gives big lofi/resample vibes. The reverse section sounds fantastic too. Grea stuff!

Thanks for the listen!

Thank you! I'm glad you dug the percussion, that's my favourite part to do :)
