I'm really happy how it turned out! I added the features I announced. Feel free to check out the leaderboard and maybe see how you score against me :D

Thanks again everyone who critiqued and supported during the jam, it was a fun experience.

I'm planning to release my patch tomorrow (Thursday), if all goes well. Depending on if it's a good idea, I may patch again. I definitely learned a few important lessons from this jam… especially with the feedback I got from you lovely people. Thanks y'all!

Patch notes

  • Major
    • Leaderboards! Compete daily, or see if you're the best of all time!
  • Quality of Life
    • Unique drop visuals
    • Visual indicator of when powerups activate
    • Easier to read powerup visuals
    • Hitstop to improve impact
    • Various minor improvements

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thanks for the review and kind words! :)

I enjoyed the game and the humor! It's such a great concept, to be "held hostage" by the game, and needing to put yourself at the feeling of risk to progress the story. Thanks for sharing the game!

Thanks for the feedback! I've thought about that during development, so there's actually a secret "leeway" timer buffer that lets you live a small amount of time after hitting 0%. It's a pretty small buffer, so you'll still need to kind of time your buttons to when the drops trigger. Thanks for trying out my game, I'm glad you found it fun. I hope to improve it in the near future, based on everyone's feedback!

Sneak peak at the online leaderboard feature I've been working on. More to come. Thanks for the suggestion @Manuel Rincón

Wow, thanks for the truly kind words. I agree with your feedback, I'd like to make those things clearer. A daily leaderboard is also a great idea! Thanks for playing!

I'm really happy to hear anyone trying out my game! Thanks for playing :D

Thanks for trying the game out. I will try to address the visual clarity of the boxes and their effects in the future. Appreciate the great feedback, it's truly helpful!

I appreciate you trying out the game! Thanks for the kind words

Thanks for the game! I shot like 100 bullets at the wall and it made like a weird fortress of bullets lol

This game was fun. I don't know why, but the ending just being the iphone charge sound made me laugh. Good stuff

Thanks for playing! ❤️

Ahh interesting, that's good feedback for me. After the jam, I'll try to make everything more intuitive to visualize, and add some more cool stuff I didn't have time for.

😂 Thanks so much for playing, and so happy you enjoyed the game!

For your question -- you may notice there's box "drops" that drop onto your bar as you progress. The gray ones make part of the bar obscured for a small time so it's harder to see (as you progress the amount that it covers increases). It's intended to make you rely less on visuals to time your presses.

p.s. 9000 score is amazing! My highest is 7550, and that was hard to get. Nice job!

Interesting mechanic and good interpretation of the jam. I loved the art in this, the variety of characters is not what I would expect in such a limited time jam, especially with how cohesive and clean everything looks. Great job!

P.S. I have a similar mechanic in my game but totally independently! It's interesting the different directions we took it, I hope maybe you can take a look.

Great concept, and great polish! I got 31.

My Critiques:

I wish combo-ing a bunch of moths had some benefit or acknowledgement. It's really fun to zap like a whole bunch of them in one go, but most of the time I feel like just meeting them one by one at the edge of the screen is easier.

I think the flashing screen effect should be toned down a bit.

Otherwise a fun game, good job!

I love that ending screen, it's so brutal yet for some reason funny. Good entry!

Good concept. I think this is a good start to a great educational game.

A small critique, sometimes a lot of time sometimes passes when nothing can be collected (maybe make it so at least one lower equation drops every 6 seconds or so?). Also I think it would be nice to have an indicator show the correct answer to the equations after you touch them.

Great concept, and great polish! I got 31.

Interesting concept, and unique interpretation of the <10% jam! I also learned I am REALLY bad at cutting shapes in half.

This was an entertaining concept! I enjoyed this game.

I don't know if it's intentional, but my game crashed a few clicks after I got "infinite time".
