I just uploaded an update. It now fully supports controllers. I also modified the puzzle to hopefully fix your issue of focus.

First, this was very encouraging to read. Thank you!
Second, music was by Scott Buckley. He allows his music to be used with attribution. He has sooo much out there! I'm really glad I found him. https://www.scottbuckley.com.au/
Third, yeah, I still have more UI to add to give controller instructions.
Fourth, great to hear about the first console and second panel confusion. I should be able to clear that up by adding a button inside each widget that sends you back and forth directly.
Fifth, I should add an attempt counter. In order to stop people from brute forcing the puzzle, the second and third lines change to a new (but similar) code after 3 attempts (that is when it changes from red back to blue). I expect you may not have missed the change.
Sixth, yes, you figured it out! :D One of my biggest challenge is the difficulty of the puzzle. Earlier paper iterations had mixed results depending on the person. Depending on feedback, I think I'll leave it at this difficulty (how much information I share), then add more to the hint system from talking with the hermit.
Seventh, I expect I'll lower the amount of Bible quotes as options. One of my initial game ideas was a story based game that allowed every single dialogue option to be a Bible verse. That being said, I do think the verses get too lengthy and can be hard to follow.
For audience, I definitely will have it geared to more Christians, but the focus will not be edutainment. I have no idea how to even market toward Christians as CGDC is the only Christian gaming group I've found. I also don't know where christian families look to find games.
This was prototype 2, which added the puzzle. 3 will be more movement focused. After that, I'll try to build a demo that combines exploration, puzzle, and dialogue together.
Thank you again for your encouraging and good feedback!
Thank you for the review! I actually just added a pause menu to the game last night as well as added controller support to the puzzles. (I haven't uploaded an update yet. :D)
Thank you for describing your problem with the puzzle. I'll try and think of a way to make it clearer or to make the hint clearer.
Thank you also for the feedback on the movement, I'm still trying to figure out all the pros and cons of the different configuration options. I'll focus more on that in my prototype 3.
One more thing, I had a thrill of tension when I was low life on mountain map with 4 spammers you have to hunt down. I was mopping up the last of the drones with less than 400 health. It was a tense fun moment. If I had died, I would have quit, but living pushed me to the next level.
ironically, the health drops reduced the tension. I was worried about dying right at the end after I spent a bunch of time hunting the drones down.
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed playing!
* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
- The hilly terrain was a pain to move on.
- For some reason level 7 seemed to give me longer shooting range.
- I wanted to know when I was shooting (it only allowed me to fire when an enemy was in range).
- - essentially, here I wanted more feedback.
-I stopped at level 8/9, because all of a sudden it felt like I was going really slow in the city, and I was tired of trying to run down all the little robots. I kind of wish some of them came after me.
- I also had a hard time telling when an enemy was shooting me. I would look at my health bar and be like "that is low". Thankfully, I figured out the health drops. Those were hard to spot at first.
* What was your favorite moment?
- Destroying enemies was quite satisfying!
- I really appreciated the radar.
* Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
- I wanted to run faster. I wanted to shoot farther. I wanted to not have to jump on the hilly grass terrain.
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- Speed and responsiveness
Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed playing! I tried it about 4 times. The first three times I died of starvation.
* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
1. I was surprised when the workers went out far into the wilderness to get food.
2. When I restarted the game inside of the game, I could no longer build palisades.
3. I have no idea what caused more villagers to spawn (sometimes it did sometimes it didn't).
4. I don't know what causes the stars to increase. They increased on the in-game restarts, but when I did a full page refresh I didn't gain any stars.
5. When I built the palisades, the villagers became unable to go out and hunt, because they would just start building the pallisade.
6. For building the palisade, I had to try and micro them to build each section. They didn't auto build everything. In the end, winter came before it was built, and they died of starvation
* What was your favorite moment?
I did enjoy getting a good flow going of having enough food to survive the winter and slowly build a litter more stuff up.
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- Drag and drop system for clearing wood and auto building of pallisades.

* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
- it took me a bit to figure out the controls
* What was your favorite moment?
- trying (and failing) to flip the car.
* Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
- flip the car
- knock over cones
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- honk button?

* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
- unequiping items from a selected tank seemed to equip the item on another tank, so I would have to cycle through unequiping.
- right now I have a cold and am not cognizant enough to want to mess with the AI behavior tree, which is probably why I lost later battles.
* What was your favorite moment?
- the sweet rush of victory. Quite satisfying
* Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
- I wanted to be able to select the spinning tank and manually turn it and twist it around
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- I wanted the hammer tank to drive up to other tanks and smash the hammer down and do melee attack.

* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
- I died on level 1 as the game started, and I had no idea what I was doing.
- I died on level 5, then realized that I could click on "outside" to see where my minions were going.
* What was your favorite moment?
- My favorite moment was feeling like I knew what I was doing, and my ants were holding my lair.
* Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
- I wanted to be able to have my workers just stay inside the lair and collect resources there.
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- I wanted to be able to save up my ants, then just surge forward once I built up my troops in my lair.

* What were problems and challenges you encountered?
- It took a bit of clicking around in the UI to figure out what options I needed to choose to actually play.
- I expected the main menu to work with a controller, but it didn't.
- It took me a bit to realize that I had to choose the CPUs characters.
- It was difficult for me to aim for the long range attacks.
-I just tried Tina. The lunge attack didn't seem to go where she was facing.
* What was your favorite moment?
- I was able to cheese a 4 player match by sitting up on a platform while the CPUs killed each other. :D (I won :D)
* Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?
- no
* If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?
- UI to tell me where to go as a beginner.
