Oh, alright. But I think it would be nice to have more hints about the ideological oppositions in the Empire, and maybe some investigations would be necessary to place each individual on these issues - after all, an election is for a good part about ideologies.

Must-have, early in the game : Science (to travel quickly), Rhetoric & Imperial History (for not being ridiculous during the interview, much easier to have an advisor for Imperial History + boosting Rhetoric than having the other options), Etiquette, Empathy
Must-have later in the game : Repair + Visual + Invention (mostly for not being ridiculous with the Maus), some skills for avoiding assassination (mainly Condition and Body Control skills, eventually Layout, eventually Unarmed or Blade)
Very useful early in the game : Reflexes + Tumbling, Galactic Relations
Very useful later in the game : Piloting, Spirituality
Quite useful early in the game : Operations
Quite useful later in the game : Bureaucracy, Sports (if you want Ethexae to join), Musical, Dramatic
Meh : Media, Intrigue (just stays at 75 and don't care about it), Strength, Wrestling, Stealth skills, Economics
I quite never used : Gunnery skills, Environment skills, Demolition, Hunting, Military, Sleight-of-Hand, Chain
What I found more useful than expected is probably Science, Repair, and the Arts skills, to a lesser extent Spirituality.
So I did some new runs on the 0.7.4.
I still have fun. :) and I saw that some of my concerns were already adressed ! That's nice.
Here some other thoughts :
- It feels kind of weird that electors adress you the same way the first time you see them, whether they hate you or not. Typically, having someone saying "ok we'll speak later, xoxo" and then learning this person is hostile and won't speak to you is weird.
- I sometimes really don't understand why some electors don't want to talk to me. For instance, in some runs Yakau agrees to speak with me, in others he won't, and I really don't have the slightest clue to know why.
- That's a bit a shame that we don't have more interactions with Lukomir. It feels like that's a supervillain but we don't know much about him x) it would be nice to feel more involved to know why we don't want him to grab power, for instance.
- I often ask directly some people to be my logothete, without checking their background or social network. But then 1/ then Ican't search that anymore 2/ I don't have the info. It would be logical to automatically unlock all these data once someone is your logothete, or at least their social network, don't you think ?
- Maybe it's intended, but I feel like some skills are only used once or twice in the game and not in a very useful way... For instance, "Chain".
- I still feel like a run is too short. Maybe that's because there are less planned interactions / turn than in Long Live the Queen, or because there is not any description of what you are learning each time you cross a skill step, you don't have much interactions with each character... Or simply, more planets and more turns will do the trick. We can't really develop our skills very much, and so we can't reasonably have more than one skill at "Grandmaster" per run, for instance. (but well, having a "Grandmaster" stat seems quite useless, except maybe for Empathy)
- I think that's really difficult to win a run without a serious Science boost early in the game, typically by having Stoyan as logothete ^^ maybe it's intended.
Annnnd... That was my thoughts for now ! Thanks again for your work !
HI,
So I've finished my first run and I had quite some fun. The gameplay is quite nice and that's a pleasure to play.
(Sorry for my approximate English)
Some improvements I suggest :
- Quality of life : there are some places where doing a right click doesn't do anything and you have to make several clicks to save or load your file. That's a bit annoying.
- Quality of life : When you are in a said step, for instance Mood step or Learning step or Social step, you can use the tabs to see other menus as your Skills or Mood, etc. But you don't have any graphic hint to show you what was your step, for instance "Social" if you're in a social step, and you can forget it and looking for it... So, a graphic hint such as a different color for the tab of your step, should be nice !
- I feel like 34 turns is quite short. You want to explore all the universe, to develop your skills more, and well... That's not possible.
- I was assassinated at during the election, without any possibility to have a Skill check to avoid it. That's a bit weird, but also frustrating to 1/ not have any Skill check 2/ not have any hints for how to avoid this assassination (is it an action we did ? A Logothere we have ? Simply the fact that the election took too long ?)
- I think more interactions with your logothetes during social steps should be nice.
Now, I will do a second run !
