I tried and got stuck on the new level 4. I can't figure out how to lift the box near the start. Also I still don't understand why restarting sometime starts me as the grey cat and sometimes as the white cat. I am curious to hear a hint or solution if you want to provide it

Hi, so I like the idea of this game but I'm really struggling to play it. In level 5 I had to do what I think was cheese by throwing the crate so it landed on the edge, then falling onto it by holding right, then pushing it by sliding off the left corner and quickly getting back on top of it which pushed it to the right. This felt way to obscure and fiddly to be the correct solution.
Then in level 8 I got completely stuck. I couldn't figure out why sometimes restarting caused the crate to fall through the floor and why sometime the crate would slide along the floor and also why sometimes I restarted as the white cat and other times as the black cat. In any case, I couldn't find a solution and decided to stop there. Hope this is helpful feedback.
Fun game, thanks for making! I personally wasn't a huge fan of the log levels where there was lots of flowing water. I'm not sure if it's just me but the main way I solved those was not by thinking through solutions but just trial and error because you only had a few possible moves available for the first few steps. Level 11 was my favorite as it really required me to think through what I was doing and the solution was unexpected.
Hey I saw your game in the playtesting channel on thinkypuzzlegames discord. Here's my thoughts--
Cool game! Had a definite Rusty Lake vibe. And I can see the Chants of Senaar as well. The part where I had to draw the characters was a little frustrating for me since I hadn't been paying attention to the characters, just the pictures, but really not too bad. I wasn't sure with the faces which order to go in-- from happy to sad or sad to happy. Also the way the numbers lock in when they are correct makes it a lot easier, but this could be good or bad as it does help prevent you from getting stuck. Minor bug (I think)-- when I moused over the churches while the journal was open it still made the sound It definitely made me curious about the story-- who are all these people with the same birthday?
Cool game! I especially liked the innovative investigation mechanics which made me feel like I was a detective.
I was unclear from the story whether I was Sam Carter or his rookie partner? Maybe I just didn't pay enough attention. Also I was expecting more red herrings and not to have it be such a cut and dry case. Still, it was a good level of challenge to figure out which clues to combine and what investigative techniques to use on which clues.
The time factor I found somewhat annoying to constantly pause the clock and make sure it wasn't running. It did make me feel pressure to solve things quickly which adds realism.
Overall I think this is a really good start! The writing, the art, the overall story definitely provide a strong noir atmosphere, and it provided a good level of challenge to keep me engaged.
