i have us english keyboard, tested again and the keyboard is in your webgl ignored, no problem in unity 3d webgl, if you try my rescent games for example.

How you played in a fast tablet/mobile phone, it can do 2 player pc keyboard, controller split and 2 player touchscreen, i like the slide effect, by moving hold just shift and it walks automaticaly. The dots are on screen touch controller you see it in menu, clear.

i try-ed it also in new session in acutal chrome, with webgl, and no user input control of character. wasd neidhter arrows, and spacebar does not jump, bythw - what engine do you use?
