If I may, In some levels the trick is either to find a safe position where you will regenerate shields faster than lose them. In lvl7hard, it is the top left corner for me.

Other levels are generally the top row or bottom corners. Some other levels require you to evade and engage in calculated collisions which again are not enough to kill you. And some bosses (I think lvl8hard?) require you to save up all bombs so you can use those to eliminate bullets and then position yourself in front of the boss, because only bombs won't finish them and if you are too careful, the other spawning enemies will take over once the bombs are used up.

Level3 hard, solo requires you to park in top left but not constantly shoot rockets, only release rocket bursts with arrow-up whenever the UFOs start pushing you out of the corner. Once the boss is there, use bombs to avoid getting shot by the fodder and focus fire on the boss.

Enhancement: I just saw there are hints in https://itch.io/t/3603016/updates on how to unlock characters. I had no idea beating levels with/without droids makes a difference. It'd be great to have this info in-game. The locked girls could have a "(?)" circle or be greyed out with the hint being shown on hover or click. Or the circle could just say "lvl5 solo" "lvl8 team" etc. Or the missions screen could have icons next to mission points either to indicate solo/team or showing the unlocked girls' faces and when there are more girls available for that mission.

Enhancement: mark the bombs ui as "training safety" so people don't think controls are broken when they can't use them in training like I did initially.

Enhancement: On PC, it'd be great for usability if button areas would highlight when you mouse-over them and react again, when clicking.

Enhancement: The game is actually playable on phone to a degree. Shooting laser is impossible and shooting rockets/bombs nearly never registers. Buttons would have to be bigger and laser/rockets need a switch that works as if one was to hold down the shoot button. One issue on phone though is that "back" (swipe from right screen border to left on my device) navigates back rather than closing full-screen, making one lose progress easily.

Enhancement: It'd be cool to be able to see the no-music loading screen with the 3 sexy girls posing (not the UFO abduction title screen). Maybe a gallery in future games where you would also be able to re-watch scenes like the gorgeous post-win postcard. The same would be great for battle enemy sprites, since at least I can never appreciate their animations in the heat of battle.

Enhancement: Ability to full-screen at any moment or at least from all menus would be nice. As would be a in-battle pause screen.

Enhancement: mark previously used multiple-choice answers as unsuccessful/successful

Small issue: controls screen doesn't tell about Left Arrow shooting laser (poor left mouse buttons)

Small issue: if you make the game window narrow (<960px) on itch, it cuts off the game on left/right

Small issue: level2hard seems to have some weird intense knocking sound going on that clips the speakers (the enemies shooting all in sync)

Small issue: levl3hard solo leads to extreme audio overlaps if you let the enemies overtake. One solution would be to limit the times the same sound file may be played at the same time but this might require building a sound manager.

Bug: it looks like the game pulls multiple megabytes (likely 10-15) of unused music and image files from older titles that max out at 2.11 MB in individual size. If this is right, fixing this might require cleaning up the Construct project or perhaps it can be told some other way to not deliver these unused files. You can see the files by opening the dev tools, switching to the "Network" tab, reloading the page and starting the game, sorting the files by size. Strangely, the (as far as I can tell) unused audio files only show up in Firefox. The PNGs from previous titles show up in Chrome and Firefox there.

Bug: if you get shot down and press 'Finish' and let the animation finish, the 'Return to base' button does not work. You have to re-start one of the animations first. Both training and missions are affected.

Unsolicited idea: future games could include a cosmetics shop for furnishing the lovemaking den so you can bone the girls in more environments like the sky turtle rescue bed (could unlock around the time you max out your ship).

I think the game is very playable and love the style and audio. Maybe future new players or future games might benefit from some of the above, maybe just indirectly. (ヅ)

The underrated charm of hornblase games stun-guns once again.

The scenes with the many girls offer so much variation in perceived pleasure. Some ladies are focused on themselves, one stares at the protagonist throughout the lovemaking, others during different phases of intensity. The different facial expressions and their variations allow to project a pleasure personality onto each.

The variation in body shapes with a different beautiful voluptuous and smaller-chested girls further makes them unique.

The finished rest frames are beautiful. It would be gorgeous for them to be more resting/relaxed/lying/cuddling but that would be much more work and would make for a less smooth return to action when the player wants to see them go another round.

The short text comments under lovemaking scenes are a charming subtle touch.

😏The pace both of battle speed and animations can shock at first but ultimately the hectic pace benefits us with less grind (unless one keeps messing up the post-victory multiple choice 😏).

Ravancloak's music is absolutely amazing as usual. The moans are great. The voice effect on Overlord's moans is a very nice and thoughtful touch. Perhaps some other droid ladies could also benefit from subtle robotic effects - will share a link to experiments regarding that in my review text.

The only slight negatives I noticed:

  • The first 3 girls (commanders and lvl1 girl) share nearly all lovemaking expressions, sounds and of course consensual sex in the missionary position for the sole purpose of procreation (at least the resting expressions differ a little). One can also see this as "Earth girls are boring, bone aliens!" though.
  • The #0000ff blue alien girl has some unclean edges on her eyelids, especially noticeable in resting phase at fullscreen.
  •  It'd be nice girls' moans to be muffled when the mouth is closed in the current animation phase.

It is really rare that I finish games and grind to completion but Hornblase's Alien Sex Date combines charm (paint.exe/newgrounds era art), pace (fast levels with varied challenges and I would say no unfairness, little grind, no unnecessarily stretched gameplay, no endless text), reward (variation with a lot of potential to project onto the girls) and ambience (music).
