Thanks for all the notes and feedback!  It's super cool to hear a comprehensive review of everything, especially into the high level stars.  I actually only made it to twelve when I was doing runs.  I really like the Neon White idea, I really want to stick with a pure skill approach but I definitely want to add more types of upgrades, and I do want to keep the basic level structure the same but I think more types of obstacles and preset procedural obstacle configurations around different stars would be cool.  Something I didn't get around to implementing was a gravity based grapple hook which lets you grab on to objects and slingshot around them manually.  I also did have an impact damage system implemented but I decided that having only fuel as health was a better idea for the scope of a game jam, but I can totally add it back in for a full release at some point. Also thanks for noticing the SFX and music stuff, my main goal with this project was to figure out that side of game development so I'm really glad you liked it!

The main thing I don't have a plan for is an end game goal, so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!  Also any ideas for other types of upgrades too, I was struggling to come up with more upgrade ideas but I figured as a small project just a few was ok.  Thanks so much for leaving a comprehensive review, that was really helpful for converting the project into a full game.

Thanks!  I'm glad you were able to figure it out, I realized I really should have made an actual tutorial, I think a 3D physics based game maybe wasn't the best idea for my first game jam haha

Thanks for the notes!  I have messed around with cell shading a bit so I think that could be kinda cool.  I definitely see the need for a tutorial level too, I actually have upgrades and increasing difficulties of stars built in already but it's good to know that without a decent UI those things aren't very obvious, I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks!  I appreciate it!

I like it!

Dang, that was waaay better than how mine went haha.  I entered like a day late and ran out of playtesting time right at the end.

Thank you!  That's exactly what I needed, I'm going to have to mess around with that for my game a bit!  I would also love some feedback on my project if you have the time, I didn't get to polishing it near as much as I wanted to and any notes you have would be super appreciated!

Thanks!  I'm glad you liked it!

You totally don't need to answer but do you have any specific feedback on polishing it up a bit?  I want to get to a point where I can release it eventually

Thanks I really appreciate it!  UI and SFX are completely new to me so most of the time was spent figuring out that stuff and I ran out of time to playtest.  Atmosphere was mostly what I was going for anyway, I didn't even end up writing a real gameplay description haha

Thanks for the feedback!

Wow that art style is crazy cool!  Do you guys have a breakdown of the material you used for the terrain somewhere?  I imagine it's not super complex but I can't tell how you did it by looking at it

I like the roguelike aspect, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting from that title image.  Overall very well done, it feels like a complete game, I do think it could have been a little bit easier in the beginning but that's probably just a skill issue on my part.  I liked it a lot!

I really liked the opening cutscene!  The character controller felt good and the shooting was good too, I wish there had been a little bit of hitstop on the enemies but other than that I don't really have any critiques.  Seriously though, that black hole in the beginning was super cool, that's totally my sort of thing, hence my game theme haha

I love the creativity my guy!  That just felt good to play, I knew what to expect and actually giving feedback as part of the game was really cool.  I thought the difficulty level was spot on but I think you could have made it a smidge harder if the character controller had been a bit more precise, it seems like if you have a lot of practice it's really easy to use but I felt like I was over shooting my jumps a lot and that took a sec to get used too.  I don't know exactly how you'd fix that but that's a super small critique, well done!

Nice, I like it!  Especially the falling off the edge sound effect haha  I don't really have any other feedback than well done, it feels like you had a cool idea, kept it within a reasonable scope, and took the time to polish it just enough to feel like a complete jam game, good job!

Really unique concept and well implemented.  The amount of dialogue is kinda insane for four days, I don't think I could have done that haha

It's not often you get to see a story driven game like that in a jam, nice job!

I like the concept, the skill tree was also pretty cool, well done!

Sound design was on point, my game did start lagging pretty bad near the end of the timer, but other than that it was super fun.  The sound effects mixed with the loop de loops of de loops was incredible haha.  Overall a solid jam game

Well designed!  It could use a bit of tuning, I don't think the encounters would have been as difficult if there were more ways to heal.  Overall I liked it, cool concept and it actually felt like a game, nice job!

Cool idea!  The wait times while seasons were changing were a bit annoying, it would be cool if the player somehow had control over when the seasons changed.  Loved the art style!

Cool concept but yeah I also ran into issues with platforms being too high to get too, that being said the character controller actually felt really good, I wish I could have played through a little bit more of the game

Oooooh, I really like that take on past self gameplay!  That might be the most fun I've had trying to plan out in real time where to stand so that my past self could cover one side of the map while I'm on the other, nice job!

I got softlocked in the floor at the first checkpoint but nice job overall!  The idea of hopping through games over time is super cool

Nice job all around!  The art, story, and sounds actually felt really complete compared to a lot of the other submissions, taking the time to do that matters.  I did like the combat but some more visual or audio indicators would have been nice, maybe some hit stop animations too.  Well done!

Cool idea, great effort on submitting it even though it wasn't finished!  I spent eight hours the night before trying to fix the last few things with my submission haha

That was actually a ton of fun, most engaging jam game I've played so far!
