Thanks, it means a lot ! I'm curious how you would expand the fishing, I have plenty of ideas myself but I'm on the other side so I'm always interested in the player's point of view on this if you got time. Also your game is extremely polished and original so I'm always up for learning from inspiration sources

good idea, I had planned to give out upgrades every handed item to speed up fishing cleaning and moving but it ended up not making the cut. I'm glad you liked it despite the missing pieces.

Thanks ! The fishing is indeed a bit rushed and hard to understand but I'm glad the instruction helped ! I'm glad you liked it

Thanks a lot ! Yes I realize now that full blind fishing was maybe a bit too non-standard, I probably should have added a tutorial for it.

Thanks a lot ! I hope you have a blast !

aaa I get it ! ok it makes sense now wait let me try again, I tried it without ever parrying (and I think I wasn't the only one) so now I get it

I tried again, I confirm there's a bug on the hammer where the attack bar disappears right after it appears. The sword works fine though

I did craft a hammer, or maybe a hammer wasn't a weapon ? but somehow I only had one 'attack bar' on that hammer run, and when I tried again, I got many more (without weapons smithed), so dunno exactly what happened

Nice idea ! I thing the recap graphics explaining the rules helps a ton (my first game I didn't get what was good or not to eat)

Good idea, good realization, I hoped you would unlock a faster dig option, but apart from that it's a great game, congrats on the character art and animation is feels really like an old pirate !

I made armor and a hammer and somehow I only had one attack ever during the first so I just slowly died and could do anything. I think the concept is really good on paper, right now I just couldn't really start a run. Maybe a guided tutorial could help guarantee at least a first run starts off with a chance.

Tehnically it's really solid otherwise

I agree that I really like the secondary theme interpretation. I feel like the basic concept is exactly on point with the themes of nostalgia that is gamboy+old gold. And the mood + story fit right in with that.
Also the art is amazing, it feels really authentic and alive, there are so many seemless details that make it gorgeous, congrats !
I just didn't get the s+k binding for the shield (why not just k ?), I have an AZERTY keyboard and the game has binding on virtual keys not physical ones so I can play with WASD (ZQSD for me) so I have to play with arrows and arrows + S + K is pretty much impossible.

Good luck ! And well done for the font ! For the controls, I just checked and it doesn't exist by default on Gamemaker (there are libraries for it though if you really wanted).

Thanks a lot ! It's our first game for all 3 of us, (for me first on a real game engine) so we are still learning but this feedback is really encouraging !

Very nicely done, catchy music super cool mood, clearly this is a level above most games. I liked that it had a narrative part in addition to the gameplay. Congrats !

Nice, I like the double meaning of gauntlet being both a glove and as trial !

It makes you want to solve more of them.

It's a great idea ! What you managed to make works really well, especially if you have no experience it's very promising, I hope you liked it and want to continue.

For information, you can bind controls to physical keys so that WASD becomes ZQSD in AZERTY keyboards (it's ok here because arrows work)

I think you coult try to make the cannons appear a second before they shoot, this way you have ample time to dodge you just have to move quickly to a safe spot (even if it means adding more cannons for difficulty). Because right now I'd say the best strategy is to stay at the end of a line and hope a cannon doesn't shoot when you go for a coin.

But still the speeds are well balanced and I grinded quite a bit to try to get a score I'm happy with (120 seconds ~20-30 coins?)

The gameplay is very well crafted and very satisfying, the flight both ascending and descending (gliding) is excellent, the balancing is great !

The attack animation looks gorgeous !
For info, the music is very low compared to most games I tested.

I reached the door but didn't find a way past so I guess that was the end of the current state, I think it's a very good start, some hits didn't register and some enemies can see you through walls but the mood is there and the difficulty balancing (your weapong reach and your speed vs the mouse's for example) is well done !

Amazing animations! It really feels alive, the fog, the pulse. Also the gameplay is very simple and intuitive yet it feels fresh and novel. Predictible ending yet visually very satsfying.

I love the "bass" pun, the start screen is already a banger. Also I really like the font you chose, can I ask which one it is ?

Small detail, but you can bind controls to physical keys so that WASD becomes ZQSD for AZERTY keyboards (It's ok I played with the arrow keys).

I didn't get you had to mash A several times once you reeled the fish. But the minigame art is banger too ! However the idea to keep the level from the first mashing into the second one is great !

At the end I think I couldn't get the last dialog (it was skipped) because I was mashing A.

Excellent game ! You should really add a thumbnail because you game is worth the detour but with no thumbnail you will get less reviews than you deserve

The art is very nice, it works super well with the palette ! Also I like the unusal gravity. I really like the world musics, although I think the "flocks on the hunt" and "game over" sound a bit too similar (unless it's on purpose and it goes with the gameplay).

It's not easy ! But as you play you learn to dodge the demons pretty well

Great and original gameplay idea, and the mood is very well crafted !

Simple and effective, the difficulty is just tight enough to be rewarding, great balancing !
