surprised i dont see any other comments about this so it makes me wonder if im missing something, but im playing on windows and i cant see any way to adjust it. which is troubling because straight off the bat the title screen music and opening cutscene are *way* louder than the sound once im into the actual game.

this really, really needs a way to control the volume

The voice acting surprised me -- it sounds great! I do love a maze. Always excited to see an RPGmaker game with original graphics, too!

Really interesting game! My first attempt I kept everyone healthy, but couldn't figure out the correct cure... might have to start killing people.

Really liked it!

I love card games. This is so cool! Very heavy Inscryption vibes, love that. The visuals are really good, and even though the gameplay itself is simple I had fun.

My one critique would be that because the text in the tutorial automatically advances without input, it might be easy for a slow reader to miss something. It was also very laggy for me, but I'm playing on a fairly low-end laptop at the moment so that's likely on my end. Will play again on my PC later to try and get a better score, haha.

Loved it!

This rules. I love the pixel art, and the music is really nice to listen while playing. It's a little buggy -- in the level with all the 1 block columns leading upwards, the character kept shaking whenever I stood on one and then got thrown into the abyss. The game was overall very fun, though.

The writing in this is so good, and the filtered photos really contribute to the spooky atmosphere. Great job!

I love the Halloweeny vibes with all the jack-o-lanterns and everything. Very fun! The mouse sensitivity was a little high and I couldn't find a way to adjust it, though I was playing the web build so I don't know if it's different in the PC build.

Super fun! I like the pixel art, and it's a really interesting way to present a story too. I'm not sure if I found all the sticky notes since I wasn't keeping track, haha. I feel like I searched every inch of the house though.

It was great to work with you, too! Thanks so much. :)

very cute game. i like that the protagonist looks a little like the protagonist of magikarp jump. i caught many fish today. my family will be happy.

Not sure if this is actually an error or if I'm just not understanding right, but Yakau's profile lists him as Myrthan but based on his design I would think he'd be Mirrow? He seems to resemble those characters more. Maybe this is mentioned if I dig into his background, just threw me off later when i was looking through my screenshots.

my first playthrough ended in a tie (and then death), i focused really hard on trying to do the personal quests of everyone i got one from, locked down a decent number of votes but then didnt have time to fly around and meet everyone by the end.

second run i think i locked down a couple votes through quests, filled my cabinet (with mostly unhelpful advisors, statwise), and otherwise just focused on flying around, meeting everyone once and trying to get them to like me in the first meeting. was baffled that that was enough. im gathering a lot of people will just vote for you if they like you, which is handy. my stats were all over the place, but i did focus on empathy early since not knowing how people felt about me seemed like a big detriment in the first run.

i did also propose marriage to someones son and then married my childhood friends instead without going back to him to finalize it. oops.

ive been getting this bug with her outfit disappearing too, pretty consistently when im wearing the training gear.

im getting a seemingly unavoidable death during the election as well, its the first one ive seen where i genuinely have no idea whats killing me or how to get past it. nothing leading up to it that seems like i could have done differently, so im assuming its unfortunately something i would have had to set up for farther in advance.

or its just because im doing badly in the election (12 to 11 votes and two rounds so far).

I downloaded the new version and it seems to be fine now. Thanks!

ah, i tried to play the browser version on my phone just now and the same thing happened. I could have sworn when i tested it on my laptop browser i saw dialogue. maybe not?

if this is in fact whats intended to happen, then my bad.

I cant play the web build fully, so I don't actually know how much is in it. I can tell you what happened when I played the windows build, though.

When I click start, it takes me directly to a choice between "scenario test" and "stat raising test". If I click scenario, it brings up a phone where mom and dad say hi, closes the phone, and displays 3 dialogue boxes with filler text. Then the scenario ends and it gives me the choice again.

If I choose stats, it displays what i assume is the result of working an in-game job, then gives me a choice of several locations (all but one greyed out), then several movie types. Clicking on any shows an image, raises a stat, and then brings me back to the location choice. Choosing anything 4 times brings me back to the first scenario/stat choice.

I've not been able to trigger it to do anything else, there's no actual dialogue, story, or anything else.

If the builds really do match then it may be bugged, or perhaps something was left in that skips things.

gorgeous art! i downloaded the windows version, though, and it was essentially empty? i thought maybe it was released like that on purpose, but i see the web version has an intro and presumably more content.

are there any plans to put the current build of the game up for download? playing the game in browser is difficult for me, but id really like to try it out.

super fun game, i liked it a lot! i havent gotten a proper ending with anyone yet (i got the bad ending, i think, haha) but ive got a playthrough with my first thoughts here, starts at 1:02:30

ill be playing it through for the rest of the endings as well. love the aesthetic

super cute game, so glad i waited for the full release to play. havent properly finished either route yet, but ive got a playthrough up with my first thoughts.

loving it!

gorgeous game! i downloaded it last week so I don't know if theres been updates since, but there were a lot of glitches when i played. ive got a video here, playthrough starts at 1:55:00 -- the screens would stick when they arent supposed to and a couple things disappeared or doubled up at times. rollback seems to be causing some issues as well.

looking forward to seeing more from this game, super interesting!

thanks!

Awesome, thanks!

I plan to make a dating sim with a female protagonist and multiple love interests of various genders. Is the fact that there are female love interests in a major role enough for it to qualify, or would it need exclusively female love interests? If so, would it be acceptable for me to make a version for this jam with only the girls, with the understanding that future versions of the game would add the remaining characters?

I know it's a little early to be asking lol but I like to make sure I have a plan in advance.

Super cute game! I played it on stream here and got 5 endings.

Love the game and Eli is a super interesting character. Love to see more nonbinary characters in dating sims

.rar is an archive like .zip, but its not always natively supported. if youre on windows, 7-zip or winrar will be able to unzip it.

No such thing as stupid questions!

Are you asking about the name as it's displayed on this character selection screen, while it's being edited? Those colors are set here, specifically the "hover_color" and "color" fields:

Based on your screenshot, though, it looks like you may be asking about the name as it's displayed once you start your game? You can set custom colors for character's names when defining a character, using "who_color". Here's a link that explains more:

https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/dialogue.html#defining-character-objects

So for instance, you could define the player with the following, and set whatever color you wanted.

define pl = Character("[pname]", who_color="#FFFFFF")

Let me know if this helps, if I misunderstood or you need more information.

super cute! love to see good dress up games that are available on PC. Some of the colors available seem very similar, so i'd love more variety in that way, but its still very good.

Another update -- I've put an alternate layout up for download that allows you to cycle through multiple portrait options, showing one on screen at a time. In theory, this allows for unlimited portraits. Just make sure to read the instructions if you try it out!

Adding the web preview seems to have removed the downloads from this page and I can't see how to get them back, so you may have to click through to download from the framework page itself.

I've updated it with a new custom pronouns screen. You can check it out in the web preview if you don't want to re-download.

wait this looks super cool. I cant think of how to use it in a peoject, but i just downloaded it and i cant stop playing around with it haha.

renpy did not like the filename for 00mandelbrot_julia though, made me take the 0s out before it would let me run it.

This is a super fun tool that could for sure come in handy, especially for lore heavy games or anything that expects a difference in player background. Definitely coming back to this for some of my next games.

these are gorgeous! especially the night time ones. beautiful style, and a good middle ground of realistic to stylized so i think theyd match well with a lot of different portrait styles so theyd be easy to use.

Being able to turn off specific types of sounds is a really interesting idea, not something I've thought of before. Definitely see how that could be useful.

The quick menu buttons being on the receipt under the cup is such a fun touch.

The location of the inputted text is set here in the button definition, but im not 100% sure if that's the issue.

Do you have any other code in your project modifying the styling of text buttons? They look like they might be centered, which is affecting the positioning. Try adding 'xalign 0.0' to the end of the line with all the button's details, that should set it to left align which should make it easier to fit it into place.

If this helps let me know, otherwise I can try a few more things to figure it out.

Nice songs! Do you have them in any other formats? I don't know about other programs, but I don't think Ren'Py supports m4a right now and that's what I usually use.
