So cool! Thank you!

(1 edit)

A BIG thank you to everyone who played and rated the game! I never could have imagined even cracking anywhere close to 100 let alone #2 so from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm glad the writing wasn't off putting or weird and I learned a lot reading all your comments! It wasn't perfect but this does give me a lot of confidence to keep going to maybe tell an even better story in the future!

If it wasn't obvious this game comes from a very personal chapter of my life where I lost my mother. I went through a lot of emotions that I have never gone through but one thing changed drastically and that was my experience with media involving loss. Every time now there was a story involving the loss I couldn't help but trace it back to my own experiences with it. One thing I always felt was missing however was the sense of emptiness or lack of pay off (if that makes any sense). Loss is always shown in a dramatic setting with music and grandeur but I feel like a lot of people go through loss experiencing something more ugly or more slow and quiet. I really wanted to capture the awkwardness, emptiness, and all these weird and uncomfortable feeling. I am really happy this story was able to reach those who have gone through what I have and even those who have yet to. Loss is not pretty and I hope anyone who is going through something terrible in their lives that you are not alone in feeling that way and that whatever feelings you may feel are valid.

What a tense story. With every choice I really felt the weight of what I was about to say. I didn't know what was right to say or not. I don't know what I would even do in that situation but the tension really came across. I can already kind of imagine how movie like this would go which is cool!

And I dont wanna backseat dev since I know you wanted to implement so much more but I cant help but think about so many cool ideas like bosses that mess with the timing or change the order you resolve cards. I hope to see you continue working on this and if not hope to see more from you!

More people need to be checking out this game just based on the art itself! When I got in and was playing I couldn't help but fall in love with the presentation! That being said I was a really let down with everything else. I know everyone is already mentioning things like hitboxes on cards, upgrades costing health, etc and what not so I won't rehash everything. I wish you got more time to fully realize everything because I can tell you have something super amazing on your hands!

I really love the feel of the game. It gives very Omori vibes with everything feeling cute and comber while also being creepy especially with the break in. The game also feels so real and I'm sure we can all at some point in our lives feel this way. I tried my very best with the secret code but I cant tell whats intentional and whats not intentionally pointing to the secret. Great game!

Really cute game with such cute art! I wish their was a level select because I got somewhat far and then left the page and wanted to come back but had to play it all over again. Super cute and fun physics based puzzle game!

The game was very cute and pretty fun! It really got exciting when their were a lot of enemies on the screen and dodging and weaving between them. Maybe they attack faster have a hitbox on their body since even with a lot of enemies it felt a bit easy. Still a lot of fun!

Really nice art and models. The vibe of everything and being there selling stuff was great! I had an issue where some characters werent leaving causing a bunch of people to be stacked on top of one another not allowing me to see anything. Managed regardless. Cool and silly game!

All the art and the designs of the captcha UI were so good! And just like real life, I keep failing to get tickets to things.

Very high quality and fun game! The vibe of everything really blends well with the quick movement and getting into the groove of the game.

They finally released minesweeper 2! Just kidding this is your game and the art in your game is so good! When the walls of game loaded in I was impressed by how polished everything looked and felt. And the introduction to cool new ways to think about the bombs in minesweeper felt good.

Nice game! The resources to survive and gets parts I feel like shouldn't be random as the one time I lost was because I couldn't get oxygen when I was searching through a bunch of ships. Also the ship design were cool!

Enjoyed it! Was able to finish in less than 10 minutes. I wish I was able to see the pile get smaller slower because as soon as I got the wizards the game ended so fast. Really fun and love the art for the game!

Great game! I enjoyed doing all the little tasks while hoping that annoying news person doesnt show up.  Doing all this great art is impressive!

I love what you did with the dialogue boxes and art of the game! I wish I had more time with Benben :(

I like the idea of reliving your life as a nod to the theme of countdown! Really nice story from what I was able to do. Unfortunately when I started my first job.

Incredibly polished and fun game! Your really went all in on the theme and I like that.

It was so funny in real time me hitting the button not knowing what number was what and then the in game audio to answer me right away. Love the art. Also I really really love this idea for the game. I love getting relics/buffs as a player and finding ways to get a better advantage to more difficult countdowns. I wish the enemy got more relics more often to spice up the gameplay. I am just sitting here thinking of all the cool items you can have in the game! So far definitely my favorite game of the jam design wise.

I dont know why but having the game played in different direction and then also move mid combat as well somehow feels refreshing and quite fun! I found I am not a fan of the bigger numbers.

The art style was great! I love deck building games and I love how you incorporated events mid gameplay. Really fun and interesting idea! I did feel at some point I could go on forever. I dont know how fast the difficulty scales but at some point your deck becomes so good you barely ever hit end turn.

Was trying to cut all the wires in the right order but kept getting distracted trying to look at and admire all the amazing art! Really gotta question why we have all these giant machines rigged to countdown and blow up. Joking aside very cool game!

A really cool idea for a civbuilding/deck building game! Two game types I love seeing made together felt very fun. It does need some improvements like with how tedious some things can be like losing a whole turn because you dont get the resources or buildings you want early on. You definitely have an addicting formula that can definitely get me to sink hours into!

The 3d in a 2d game with the style you had for the 3d assets worked really well. Also liked the lighting that went with everything. Felt very reminiscent of old flash games I played in the computer lab!

The art and texturing of the background  and everything were so good! I also really liked how contemplative and personal it felt. I love the storytelling through the props in the house. I was hoping to hear a back and forth between the two of them at the end but if the point of the game is the build up before it then its probably not needed. Really enjoyed it!

Thank you!

I am doing better now. Thanks for playing! <3

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have each of the dialogue boxes set up as a Dictionary which contains info. The dictionary contained an into, choices, and a result. In these 3 sections of the dictionary contained an array containing strings that I would make a separate dialogue box for each element in the array. I also had a number attached to each element to know how fast I want the text to come out.

I was so back and forth with the timer. I know in reality you never really get that timer. I ended up staying with it as I did not want to completely bore the player as they don't know how long they have to wait around for since their are 15-20 second pauses. Thanks for playing!

I was really hoping I can still reach those that haven't gone something like this so I am glad to hear that. Thank you for giving the game a try!

You're very welcome. I'm glad to have made it.

I'm happy you were able to resonate with the story!

Thank you for playing!

Very cute game and great art and visuals. A funny thing happened where I have been in several storms and thought that maybe the rain doesnt kill you so I tried to test it and I somehow still couldn't get hit for quite a while. I guess my bee movement is too good. (I did die eventually)

I love dogs! I was wondering when I would have to use the go back/forward mechanic since it seemed like I didn't need it but then I got to a jump where I normally couldnt cross but my clone was halfway across so I teleported to my clone and got both my jumps and my dash and made the gap! Then it all clicked for me! Also shout out to the husband the music rocked!

All the art and animations were so good! I suck at making tomato soup. After finally figuring it out and then getting further I was in a world of pain.

Sorry my comment wasn't a knock to the script I was just commenting on the humor of the cancer asking how I was alive and thinking to myself I didnt know either. I enjoyed it!

Congrats on your first 2d game! I think a lot of the first levels were tough with how dark and difficult to see which can be frustrating. But if its a rage game then it being frustrating is a success!

Great artwork! Trying to navigate and drive by hit flies with my tongue felt very good. I don't know if it was intentional or not but holding space causes the frog to jump as soon as he lands which made misinputting happen sometimes. Not that big of a deal (that's on me) but just an idea for quality of life fixes.

Such a cute cooking game! Incredible artwork! I hope the queen doesnt notice I only cooked one side of the steak.
