BRO THIS GAME IS HARD ASF 😩 but I like it, those real-time map-changing bars are very cool.

One of my biggest concerns while making the game was that in some cases it might come down to luck, which could make the 'risk it' aspect feel weaker. I have to admit that’s a flaw of the game. The scroll on the right side was originally there because I had designed more tile types, but I ended up cutting a few since balancing the levels became too difficult—so right now it doesn’t really serve a purpose. I don’t plan to continue developing this version any further. I’m really glad you enjoyed the game, and your observations were spot on. Thanks a lot for playing!
I totally agree with you about the block placement confusion between the build phase and start phase, it could have been solved in a simple way. As for placing objects in the wrong spots, you can replace any misplaced or changed object with the default tile, which gives your cookies back. The trap ratios are shown in the info box at the top right next to the tiles, and yes, in some cases you can place extra traps just to meet the quota—it works kind of like cookies in exchange for your moves. Overall, I really appreciate your feedback. I especially value comments that point out the flaws, because it shows you didn’t just play the game casually and it helps me improve myself. Thank you!
Loved the artstyle, the hand-drawn look is really well done. At first I struggled a bit, but then I discovered what I call the ‘oven strategy’ 😅. Not sure if it was intentional, but when I pass in front of the oven, the neighbor closes it even if they’re chasing me and this gave me huge amount of time to escape. With that tactic it’s pretty easy to farm points. Would’ve been nice to also see how many biscuit I ate during the run. Anyway, for a first jam game this is crazy game, congrats. Got a score of 271 and the cops drop all my charges because of my high score.
I love your game! I like this kind of game; it’s perfect. I wish there were sound effects and music in the game, but it’s okay—my Spotify is already on in the background 😅. But to tell the truth, Demilker has no mercy. ‘I’m not ready to be hurt again by your terrible yogurt.’ That hurt. At least I satisfied Meus, lol.
Firstly, thank you for the well-detailed comment, I appreciate it. I’m aware that the box collider is a bit big; that’s because of the random generation script. If I made them smaller, the obstacles start overlapping each other and it looks awful. I didn’t have enough time to fix it because it’s kind of messy spaghetti code, as you can guess :)
Regarding the new box replacement feature, it’s a pretty smart idea and it will force players to strategize. I will definitely consider adding that feature to the game.
I used URP and post-processing to achieve that look. There is no light except the directional light in the game. The post-processing has a lot of settings and it took me a while to achieve that look. It’s a really powerful tool. You can use HDRP instead of URP if you want, but I recommend URP if you’re not familiar with them. And don’t forget to use good solid textures. As far as I can tell, that’s it. If you have more questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m happy to answer.
Thank you for playing my game. I’m very glad you enjoyed it :)
