Hey! Thank you so much for taking the time to try Heartfall and for your kind feedback 🙏
You probably didn’t do anything wrong—this might just be about how the files are extracted.
Here’s how to run it on Windows:
1. Right-click the Heartfall.rar file
2. Click “Extract All…”
3. Open the extracted folder
4. Look for “Heartfall.exe” and run it
Make sure you don’t run the game from inside the zip file, or it won’t work properly.
If it still doesn’t work, then it’s likely an issue on my side, and I’ll fix it as soon as possible.
Thanks again for your support—I really appreciate that you gave the game a try! 🙌
Development on Heartfall continues following the Alpha 0.3.1 update.
This update focuses on expanding the world, improving the user experience, and introducing a darker new environment.
World Changes
Large parts of the world have been reworked, creating a noticeably different experience compared to previous versions.
Main changes include:
- Split of the main island
- Addition of the previously missing part of the world
- New correpted island
This new island is not just another location — it introduces a completely different atmosphere and tone.
New Biome — The Corrupted Biome
A brand new biome has been introduced:
The Corrupted Biome
- Twisted, corrupted trees with a disturbing appearance
- Dark and tense atmosphere
- A constant feeling of danger
This area is not designed to feel safe or welcoming —
it is meant to make the player feel like they don’t belong there.
UI Improvements
The in-game experience is now cleaner and more intuitive:
- Full UI redesign
- Mini Map has been reintroduced
- Improved section selection screen with better connection to Story Mode
Goal:
Help players focus on gameplay instead of figuring out the interface.
Known Issues
As with any major update, some issues are still being worked on:
- Settings screen is currently not fully functional
If you want I can level this up even more (like add hype intro, teaser tone, or make it sound more “professional indie studio” vs “raw devlog”).
fully english
Got you—here’s the fully English version in that clean itch.io devlog style:

If you wanna push it further, I can make a more hype version (like something that hits harder emotionally and makes players curious about the corrupted island 👀).

Hello everyone,
Today we want to share more details about the original concept of Hearthfall and the current state of development.
The Original Idea
From the beginning, Hearthfall was designed as a dimension-travel adventure game.
The story begins in a quiet café, where an old man tells a mysterious story about a strange necklace connected to ancient dimensions. This moment becomes the starting point of the player's journey.
After this encounter, the player discovers that the necklace has the power to open paths between different dimensions, leading to an adventure far bigger than expected.
The Three Dimensions
The world of Hearthfall is built around three main dimensions, each offering different environments, challenges, and mysteries.
The Mundane Dimension
This is the normal world where the story begins. Most of the early exploration and story events take place here.
The Sky Dimension
A mysterious realm located above the normal world. Exploration here focuses heavily on vertical traversal and discovery.
The Underworld Dimension
A deep and ancient realm located beneath the normal world.
Originally this dimension had a different name, but it was later changed during development due to various reasons. Many of the game's deeper mysteries are connected to this dimension.
Gameplay Focus
Hearthfall focuses on:
-
exploration
-
environmental puzzles
-
discovering hidden areas
-
traveling between dimensions
The player's main objective is to uncover the truth behind the mysterious necklace and the legendary treasure connected to it.
Development Status
Development on Hearthfall is still actively ongoing.
During development, the project went through several adjustments and direction changes as the game continues to evolve and improve.
This post also serves as confirmation that the game is still in development and moving forward.
Work on Alpha 0.2.4 is currently in progress, and its release is expected very soon.
At launch, Hearthfall is planned to support:
-
Windows
-
macOS
More updates and development news will be shared as progress continues.
Thank you for following the project and supporting the development of Hearthfall.
@everyone
After 77 days… development is officially back.
What once felt like the end turned out to be a pause. We took this time to solve the problems that forced us to stop and now work has resumed.
Alpha v0.2.4 is currently in development.
Heartfall is not dead. not anymore
Thank you to everyone who stayed patient and didn’t give up on the project. More information and progress updates will be shared soon.
