It might help if you tell people WHAT you program in? C# (Unity), C3, Godot etc

https://freesound.org

You know what, I don't leave many reviews. This game was so well thought out, I decided I would take the time. For such a great price its worth spending the few $ for the enjoyment. It isn't a massively long game, but an hour or two of thinking and well written storyline and its well worth the price of a coffee and cookie.

The animation and graphics are crisp and clear, the sound is excellent and the story line is interesting. Well done on an app well written.

**RECOMMENDED**

Thanks Gil for the feedback. I did notice so control issues, even moving horizontally had a slight deviation from 90 degrees, but I didn't have the time to fix it up.  My current project I have fixed that issue.

The strange gray noise was actually intentional! I took it out and replaced it, but it gave it a bit of a hollow, haunting, creepy feel to it as you wander around the maze(s) getting darker. I soundtrack that quickened as it darkened and slowed as it lightened would have been a great 'atmosphere'. Definately could have done better on sound though, but sound does tend to pop up in the end though and suffers accordingly!

Thanks for the info, appreciated.

Thank you for the feedback.

Control issues are apparent based on feedback, it was too late to fix it however. I appreciate the input though.

The sound WAS a bit crappy, but I liked the 'mine'/'cave' feel to it, I did remove it, but at the end of the day I preferred it, so I put it back :P

As for the auto moving feature, tough one - I liked it for running down a hallway, but you are correct that navigating several turns could be annoying.

Great feedback though, and completely appreciated.

Fixed the level issue and key issue, thanks for the feedback! (sigh, such a stupid error!)

That's it, the final is uploaded. Hopefully some will have a bit of fun! Thanks for the opportunity to actually finish something :P

@hannes, even better I put a trailer up on the game.

Worked on the to do list...

Known to do list.
1) Need an icon - won't take long.    Icons created for IOS, Mac and Windows. Mac version tested successfully.
3) Change options so there are some, or remove it. Removed options. Will reinstate it if I need it.
4) Make sure I credit the music author. Added credits to the title screen

The rest I haven't got to yet, but wasn't bad for today.

2) Need to be able to carry on from the level you're on the next time you play - you will get rather upset having to play from the start over and over... :P
5) Add more levels!
6) Add a suicide option - if you get lost and you have no light, it's annoying trying to find a hole or a way out!
7) might add a border around the maze, haven't decided yet.. It will make it 'brighter', but I like the dark lost feel!

Just a quick post to let you know that FireFly is now out there for the Jam as a playable beta.

This is a repost from the Devblog on the game page.I *DO* know there's a few issues - I'll post them here and hopefully get to them all before the deadline!

Notes

The fireflies are large by design, yes I know they far outsize the character, but while I was going to make them smaller, I kinda liked it.
I would have liked each firefly to have its own light source, so I could move them perhaps. That is a limitation of my lighting engine however, so it is what it is.

With more time, I'd work on the normals a little more, might make it seem less blocky, but I'm an 8bit old school guy, so I will see!

Thats it for now, tonight was about getting playable betas out there for Mac/Windows, so it's a win for me there!

5 Days and counting!
